**Not A Resident**…read more This review is on the tour I took of the property. Initially, I was turned off because upon entering the leasing office, I was just instructed to have a seat. Not greeted, no introduction, just instructed to have a seat and to fill out a form. After completing the form, I was then asked a serious of questions about what I was looking for etc. I didn't not like the fact that I could not be giving an exact price for each unit because "the prices change everyday" and that each unit had a different lease length. I also disliked the fact that the water would be billed by the apartment complex and not a county water supplier, how do I know what I'm getting billed for. Also, when looking at these apartments online, I was misled to believe that there are washers and dryer in each unit however, that's not the case. You can either rent a full size washer and drying for $60 a month or buy your own, they also have laundry rooms in each building. Also during the tour, I felt rushed while touring the unit. There isn't a playground or security. There isn't controlled entry building either. The bathrooms are very small and oddly set up. I absolutely loved the kitchen but that was about it.

Save your money/time and move somewhere else…read more I've been living here for over a year, and almost every time I get home from work, my apartment smells like weed from one of the neighbors, which wouldn't be a big deal if I wasn't in the military and if I wasn't a single parent trying to raise a young child here as a single parent. Also, my car has been broken into twice, and in the last month, this apartment complex has towed my car twice while I'm waiting on my updated registration. For what we're paying in rent, I honestly think they should put more effort into fixing things like the car wash or hiring part time security, instead of throwing parties like ice cream socials and pet adoption events. Most of the staff I've interacted with at the leasing office are friendly and polite, with the exception of one person. I don't know/care to know her name, but if you happen to meet her, you'll probably notice her by her size and her rude attitude.

With the amount of money that you are paying for rent, you would expect at least security cameras or security patrolling the parking lots after hours....nope. The parking lots are constantly littered with trash and the hallways are neglected with remnants of trash. We have also come home several times to young people sitting on the hallway stairs blocking us from entering our apartment, smoking weed. This has happened on several occasions, and we soon figured out that they don't even live in the building! But this is how comfortable Abberly Square has made it for teens to just come and chill in the hallways to smoke weed and God knows what else. We live on an end unit building, close to the ravine that separates us from Spark and that corner of the parking lot that has a dead end is busy with nightly activity. People will park there, and smoke weed all hours of the night and there were even several attempted car thefts. My car included! It's hidden from the main street, so you won't know what's going on over there unless you deliberately turn that corner. The bay area for your car is trashed. No nozzle ends on any of the hoses so you can't use them. The trash cans are overflowing so it's filthy and that will attract rodents. To top it all off, our rent was increased to over HUNDREDS of dollars on our 1-year lease renewal! No exaggeration. We have never been late on our rent, not even once and we got hit just like that. The increases in the past have been small, $50.00, maybe even less than that.....now HUNDREDS of dollars. Renters beware! No security cameras, no on-site security, dogs off leash, trash in the parking lots, strange parking lot activity after dark, teens roaming the hallways of buildings high off of God knows what, etc. Take your money and find a rental community that will invest in their residents to keep them safe!

You cant get into the gym or theater without a key fob, but the living quarters are un safe. They put cameras up and nothing comes from them. Your electric bill is shared with the building. Thats unfair as well. So my family and i took a vacation for 2 weeks and came back to a $700 light bill. People that dont live in this building charge thier cars on this building and nothing had been done. My light bill has not been under $400. Now if i dont pay that, my lights get cut off. The office is lazy and rude. When you call you barely get a response and they have NO solutions. Trash doesnt get picked up regularly, the windows in the halls are screwed shut, so u cant open them. I didn't feel rushed at all or like I was just another number. We toured their one bedroom and two bedroom apartment homes. I was in such awe of the modern Facilities and cleanliness so much so I forgot to snap pics, however I will be back and will most definitely have pictures to share! Everything from the club house, on site, 24-hour gym, modern/updated apartments, pool area, I give everything a 10/10. The apartments are spacious, interior space is maximized, designed well and definitely have a welcome home vibe. My appointment was scheduled for noon, there wasn't a lot of traffic moving around the complex which is nice. This is a small community that is nestled in the midst of single family and townhomes which I also love, they are hidden in plain sight. I also love how they are conveniently located near a shopping center with plenty of food options, entertainment and basic needs. I definitely recommend this complex to anyone looking for affordable apartments that still offer a level of luxury.

So I came back on the day before my scheduled move-in the unit has not been cleaned and the caterpillar issues still remained the same. I almost forgot to mention I came during the week to sign my lease, and was told the caterpillar issue was resolved. Today, the day before I am due to move in the apt is NOT ready. This has caused a major inconvenience for myself and my family. I should not have to do the job of the maintenance and/or property mgmt. I am definitely frustrated with the beginning of this experience. I only have 6-months to deal with this rental property.

The apartment is huge and has a washer/dryer hook up already installed. I find that the apartment is the right size for my family and we don't feel cramped. The living room is very sizable with a sliding door balcony and can fit two couches, a large TV, an end-table, and most of my children's favorite toys. Location The location of Sheffield Greens is within easy access of higway 301 and its close proximity to St. Charles County Mall and local food stores makes picking up groceries, holiday shopping, and running errands a breeze. I find that I can finish most of my errands on weekends within 45 minutes and still have time to enjoy my favorite hobbies like golf. The cost is a little above what I think a single family can afford but if spending budget is planned correctly living here on one income or with roomates is very doable. Rent only increased a total of $100 during our tenure to date. Sheffield Greens has a beautiful lake and neighborhood nearby and get this, it has side walks for when I take my children to go play some afternoons I can stroll along safely in the stroller clear from traffic. We enjoy that the community also is within close distance to elementary schools has a pool house a 19-hole golf course and a park with game fields--all within driving/walking distance. There is also a centralized playground which makes it easy to watch my children from my upstairs neighbors balcony when visiting, and on most summer days I'm able to enjoy the weather from the comfort of my back porch. The neighbors here are friendly and warm. Shoveling ourselves out of past snow storms is always a group effort. Maintenance The property handles maintenance via third party companies that are hired to replace certain things (such as washer dryer, heating cooling). St. Charles manages the process well and they are willing to work with tenants. They understand that third party maintenance can be cumbersome, and they do their best to make sure repairs are sufficient and long-lasting. Staff The leasing office personnel and assistant property managers (Jamie Ludka) in particular, are professional and prompt and they make me feel very welcomed. There have been times when I have had maintenance issues and Jamie has personally handled the issue and answered in a timely manner. Mr. Mike Boswell, (maintenance), knows me personally and greets me every time he in the neighborhood for repair requests. I would definitely recommend this property for families or singles.

We can't get any help from the management! It seems that McKinley just buys the worst apartments!
