In being new to the area, my wife and I really appreciate the openness of the school, the innovation in the working garden, natural surroundings/playground, and classroom activities. For us as parents, we've met quite a lot of really interesting people with similar interests. For us as a family, we feel that Burlington Little School is a great fit for us.

I believe preschool should be an amazing experience, it is when our little ones are first introduced to a learning environment. To me a well-rounded school offers learning through classroom experience, art, music, computers, and physical activities. So far I have only found one school in the area that offers this to our preschoolers. Skagit Adventist Academy has overall surpassed all the other preschools in the area for teaching our children to be successful and introducing to them many different aspects of learning. I want my children to love going to school, and to learn as much as possible in a fun, loving environment.

When we got the call from Blossom to come tour we were excited. Our son has been enrolled since the fall and we couldn't be happier with the staff and facility. Our son used to cry before school and now he is so happy. Every staff member we have had the pleasure to interact with clearly loves and wants the best for each child. I have no thoughts or worries about leaving our son each day.

She only attended 2 days and For 2 weeks after she was going to bed and waking up crying and the first thing she would say when waking is " I don't want teacher". She has stuck to her story about" teacher" saying " go away" when she was crying for me and wanting to seek comfort. She even said the teacher put her hand up to her face and was angry. My daughter isnt one to make up stories and being so excited and then having extreme fear of this one teacher has caused issues with enrolling her at other places. I'm really devastated because when trying to tour another childcare facility she started crying and saying " No Teacher" over and over. Whereas before your facility and before this encounter she was super excited and telling everyone " I get to go to daycare". Its really upsetting that this provider at your facility caused my daughter such anxiety's. I know my daughter is no longer enrolled but im reaching out in case this happens to any other children without your knowledge. I hope you have a great day. The office staff was very nice but this one teacher ruined it for my daughter, when I picked her up the teachers first thing she told me that my daughter was hysterical and crying and she tried to comfort her, when in reality my daughter said she was crying for me and the teacher had an angry face put her hand up to her and said " go away" and to lay back down during nap session. This isn't a separation anxiety thing. This is definitely the teacher. I didn't see cameras which is a bummer, I wish I knew what happened to my daughter. I feel horrible for her. Now she doesn't want to go to any daycare bc of this experience. I'm heartbroken.

This place is the best…read more The staff is great, they go out of their way to take great care of our kids. They run a day care but there is a learning curriculum also so your kids dont just play with blocks all day. You dont have to go everyday as long as you schedule in advance, like every M W F or something. They really are teachers not babysitters, they teach manners, social skills and some school stuff like letters and they read in a group to the kids. Great place to take your kids.

I brought my son here. I asked if I could sit at a table to work on my pc until he was done. They…read moresaid yes, just like every YMCA we have been to. Then they said I couldn't be in there since I'm not a member. They kicked me out, so then I sat in a chair in the entrance to wait for him. They said no! I need to leave the building. I'm sitting outside on the curb waiting for my son for the next hour. It was very humiliating. I won't be bring him back here again. I love that I can pay for his yearly membership, but can't wait for him in the building. If it was raining out today I would have been so pissed.... I'm very disappointed. There are a lot of other YMCA's that are kind. Stay away from this one.

I competed at the Skagit Valley Family YMCA a few times as part of my high school swim team…read more(Shorewood High School) over a decade ago (I am writing this review Tuesday 5 December 2023). Oak Harbor was in our competition circuit and the high school did not have a school on campus, so the swim meets were contested at this YMCA. It was the regular season pool we traveled the furthest to compete at and offered a different competition experience than some of the other pools we competed at. I may have competed/coached at this pool as part of my YMCA swim team circuit as well. The pool was shallow for the full length, meaning no blocks for starts. Some of the swimmers were really irked by this, I did not mind. There was space on the pool deck for bags and a little bit of bleacher area seating. The locker rooms were clean and easy to find. The parking lot was large enough for regular YMCA users as well as both teams. During one of my high school swim meets here, my grandparents (who lived in Oak Harbor) even stopped by and we had space to talk on our own in the parking lot.
