I was referred to this agency by a personal friend when selling my Long Island home and I'm so glad…read moreI did. John Schoonmaker, a managing partner, was precise, competent, knowledgeable and highly involved from start to finish making the process smooth and seamless. I worked closely with a relocation specialist from the agency, Laura Coco. She's a veritable tiger, working tirelessly to throw open houses, communicate with prospective buyers, tying up any loose ends and keeping us informed every step of the way. She vetted every prospective buyer, as well. She makes things happen and did to the tune of many thousand$ over asking price. This agency is competent, motivated, successful, and highly professional and I recommend without any hesitation.

Ben is okay, but I do think he needs to do a much better job of vetting the landlords and…read moreproperties he represents. Ben was the agent for a home we rented, and unfortunately, our experience with the landlord after our tenancy has been extremely difficult. The landlord has not returned our security deposit in accordance with New York State requirements, and we later learned that he represented to the City of Glen Cove that the property was owner-occupied. We rented a single-family home, and the landlord definitely did not live with us. To our knowledge, he did not even have a key to the house. He resides outside the country and would text us when he happened to be in town. Why does that matter? Rental properties in the City of Glen Cove are required to be registered and are subject to inspection requirements. Claiming the property is owner-occupied when it is actually being rented raises serious concerns about whether those requirements are being followed. We have also had difficulty pursuing the return of our security deposit because we do not have a valid address for the landlord. Presumably Ben has contact information for him, since he continues to represent the property, but he has not been willing to provide us with an address. Some may say that none of this is Ben's responsibility and that these issues are solely between the landlord and tenant. However, Ben continued to represent the property and rented the house to new tenants after we moved out. From our perspective, once serious concerns regarding the landlord and the property became apparent, we would have expected the agent and brokerage to exercise greater due diligence before continuing to represent the rental to other prospective tenants. Ben himself was fine to deal with, but based on our experience and everything that followed, I would never rent a property represented by him or this company again.
