I would recommend this mursery school to any parent in or around Dublin 2, particularly those parents that work close int eh centre of town.

I can honestly say that choosing Glenone for my childcare was one of the best decisions I ever…read moremade. I had initially put my son in another crèche and immediately knew it wasn't right and moved him, the comparison was unbelievable. Glenone is well run and the staff couldn't be better. The garden is a real asset and the children love the freedom and space to play. I'm content when my son is at crèche because I trust that he is receiving the best care possible and that is all we can wish for. I think that the secret to the success of Glenone is the proprietor Susie who has created a special environment good enough for her own precious twins and we're lucky enough to have the same for our children.

She has no respect for her staff and shows them a very different face to the one she puts on for parents. There is very poor communication, staffs needs are not listened to and decisions are made without consultation. Many of my co-workers would fake sick days and cry in the bathroom, most of the original group I worked with have left, some even leaving childcare for good as a result of their bad experiences. I would advise against anyone considering this as a work environment.

They have ones for 30, 45 and 60 mins, so you can pop in and do whichever you have time for. Their array is pretty impressive; everything from hip hop classes to pilates to kick boxing. The staff are absolutely lovely in there too. One of the trainers, Keith, is fantastic and I'd always try to go to his classes. He roars at you to keep you motivated, without you wanting to kill him. Not easy! Their gym upstairs is a little on the small side, but still very satisfactory. Also, you can take out 3/6/12 month membership or you can pay as you go, either by class or by gym trip. I can't recommend the place enough.

Their website is also a great place to get information on jobs or volunteering in the development sector, which is a growing choice for many of us who are either at a loose end or looking to go save the world. The staff are really helpful, though be warned - they can't wave a magic wand and make everything nice and easy!!! Their publications are very interesting, although they would be directed more towards those with experience, or who are working in the sector. When most people think of NGOs, they think of the big ones such as Amnesty or Oxfam, but these guys remind us that they are involved in many different aspects of development - less glamorous perhaps, but no less important.
