It was so amazing to dissect all the different levels of instruments, drums and animated angels playing bells. Everything from the music machines and the carousel itself looked sparkling new. I admire and respect the work that went into restoring and maintaining these working historical artifacts. Of course, simply taking a smiling ride is the pure pleasure of such a carousel.

By the end of it we were hitting the targets at 20 yards. They helped set up our bows, provided loaners as needed, and recommended the next step in equipment for us beginning archers. I can tell they are both very skilled at what they do; Ed has even hit a triple Robin Hood three arrow bull's-eye stack! I was so excited to shoot I forgot to ask to watch them fire their own arrows... Next time... We'll be back; we're both hooked!!!

Spotted this from Highway 1 on the way over to Wilder Ranch State Park for a hike and picnic lunch…read more Luckily I had my surfskate, helmet, and wrist guards in the car. My family and our friends indulged me with a stop on the way back. I hurriedly ran over to see whether it was crowded and was happy to see that there were only a few kids on bikes and an inline skater. I'd never been on a pump track before, but I had seen videos of people riding them. I put on my gear and off I went over the undulating bumps. It's called a pump track because you can pump your legs to build speed, but it was plenty fast for me as I tried to hang on through the turns. Had to jump off my skateboard on the second turn, but after five runs I was able to make it back up one of the bigger hills (but not before falling once). There are multiple routes through the course. It would have been great to spend more time here to get used to the speed and try some of the alternate routes, but I'm happy I got to stop by. Looking forward to coming back some time because I don't know of any other pump tracks around the Bay Area that aren't just dirt (looks like this one used to be dirt before they paved it).

SO MUCH FUN! I am a…read morebig guy and was scared out of my mind BUT the nice little lady...Natalie I think...was very helpful and calmed all my fears. She showed me pro techniques that helped me in the calm water and the baby surf that was out there. I was doing hand stands by the end of the day! We got out early, it was calm and a little foggy but then the fog burned off and it was amazing! So peaceful. We got to see dolphins, sea lions and an otter with its baby! And schools of fish under your board...pretty cool! Can't wait to take my 9 year old out there! Thanks again!
