I hired the wrong tile contractor!…read more I've waited about 2 months to make this review, but it's now time. I hired Vinny Gunneson with Precision Tile (aka Precision Installation) back in July of 2019 to replace the tile in my shower.  He seemed like a nice young man that was eager to work.  The first red flag I should have seen was when he asked for 25% down before he would start. Now mind you, he was not buying any materials. He gave me the list of items to purchase for him.  Of course he didn't show up when he said he was going to. Constant delays, family emergency, and setbacks. Excuse after excuse.   The job was supposed to take a week and lasted almost a month.  I told him I was okay with the delays, as long as everything was done right.   I also told him I'd give him an extra 10% if everything was done right.  Upon completion, I noticed multiple scratched and crooked tiles. The floor was so uneven that water would not drain properly.  He assured me he would come back and fix the problem "within a week".  He even gave me a handwritten note with his name on it promising such. Unfortunately I paid him before he returned. And as you can guess, he never returned.   I blame some of this on myself for not researching his company a little better. A quick Google search showed he has a triple F rating. The comments on the Better Business bureau are almost identical to each other and what I experienced. I'm really surprised at myself for falling to this deception. He is very experienced and knowledgeable about his field and brings equally professional and honest work crew. They paid attention to what I envisioned for the remodel of our kitchen and made it happen!! Any details I brought to them that I felt were not right, were addressed quickly. He supervised all work frequently in person and checked back with me on how I felt it was going. (He was very patient with me!!) We had drywall removed and replaced, remodel of kitchen with new cabinets and granite, all bathroom vanities replaces with new granite and plumbing, new flooring, new lighting put in and probably some I missing. He said he had a whole crew, and the project would be done in a month. One guy showed up about three weeks later, and would disappear for weeks at a time. Now I have to have my floors completely replaced because he did such a bad job installing them they are now ruined. I have had to pay $1000's of dollars to repair his terrible workmanship. I wish I could give him zero stars! STAY AWAY FROM MARK DERMAN!!!!
