I went last Sunday for the first time, and I just had to come on here and say I had such a splendid experience. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like a full experience, not just a visit. There's free valet parking, so they take your car right away, and once you step into the spa, it's absolutely beautiful. They really have everything you could possibly need--hair brushes and combs, blow dryers, even toothbrushes with toothpaste. Every detail is thought of. The atmosphere is so calm and luxurious, and the employees are incredibly welcoming and attentive. At one point, my friend's phone died, and they even charged it for her in their office--that's top-tier customer service. My best friend and I got the signature facials, and I have to say, they were worth every penny. That was definitely my favorite part. The beds were heated, the music was calming, and the whole experience was so soothing and relaxing--I didn't want it to end. After our facials, we enjoyed the amenities, which made everything even better. They have cozy reading nooks, coloring books with markers, complimentary mimosas, a jacuzzi, and access to the pool. This is definitely the place to come if you want to spend a day at the spa given the amenities one can use throughout the day. I would definitely Not come back here for just the massage. The locker room is nice well supplied and gives access to a steam room and sauna. They additionally have an out door co ed spa. I loved that ease of atmosphere and places to lounge it additionally never seemed overly busy. My massage was relaxing but barely therapeutic- I asked for firm pressure and never really experienced it . I also made the mistake of booking addons to the message - a scrub and a face mask. I didn't realize these would be done in the same time given my message. So unfortunately much of the experienced felt hurried. After a long week at work I wanted to take a load off. My friend and I had been discussing doing a full on spa day for a while, after some browsing on the internet we decided on the Spa by JW. The spa itself is located inside the JW Marriott Hotel. This hotel is off water street in Tampa, so parking can be a lot sometimes; however if you are doing a spa treatment they validate your valet parking which was very convenient! We checked in at the front desk and an attendant gave us a tour of the spa facilities. The spa area included a locker room, showers, steam rooms, sauna, and lounge area with tea, flavored water, bottled water, and small snacks like fruit, nuts, etc. The lounge area also had day beds and really comfy chairs! Outside had a beautiful view of Tampa, a mineral pool, and lounge chairs to enjoy the view. With all the amenities the price was definitely worth it! When booking a service there is a small note that idoes let you know that the 20% gratuity is automatically added to the final cost of what service you received. I had the YBOR REVIVOR THERAPY, this included a scalp massage. The oil that was used was amazing. While I enjoyed my experience thoroughly and the amenities, the massage itself was more of an 7.5/10. I believe the time for the massage itself actually includes the dressing and redressing-- so the amount of time didn't feel like the full 50 minutes of therapy. Overall this was an amazing experience and the customer service and staff were amazing and kind! Set up a spa day for my wife's birthday. We had the 80 minute couples massage. This was a bad idea, I should have booked the 100 minute deal because we were both so relaxed at 80 minutes, we could have let you spoil us both the rest of the day. First time at Spa by JW went for couples massage and foot scrub. I have to say that the staff are very professional and kind and the massages were nice but 50 minutes including foot scrub which was literally just put on and taken off, is not worth it. The ambiance of the spa is super bright and seems more like a pool day vibe which is not what I am looking for when it comes to a spa. During the massage we could hear car alarms going off which was also not giving that relaxing feel. The locker rooms were clean and had alot of little personal items available and the steam room was very nice. Not sure if I would come back again as it's just such a bright and not a "dark relaxing ambiance" I look for with a spa. But everyone was very kind. read more

Prior to the massage we sat in the relaxation rooms where they provided the guests with complimentary snacks & teas. After the massage we hung out in the mineral pool that overlooked the city. Pretty disappointed with the experience all around. Booked a massage for my wife's birthday weeks ago as a surprise. There apparently was a leak which impacted the overall experience, heavy drilling, workers phones going off, etc. The chaise lounge was closed off for all guests which was also disappointing given this was her first prenatal massage so already limited in services she could use. She and her friend were not made aware of this until after the massage. Even though they already took a day off of work, they would have considered rebooking if made aware. They also refused to used the Marriott Bonvoy Card I had on file (also a Titanium Elite member) and made her pay herself for what was suppose to be a birthday/20 week pregnancy celebratory gift. After expressing their dissatisfaction multiple times, the staff reluctantly offered a pool day pass which expires in... a week. As a loyal member of Marriott, this was extremely disappointing to hear. Things happen, but mostly disappointed with the customer service, lack of transparency, and lack of desire to right the experience for my wife and her friend. read more

The check in attendant was friendly and helpful, when I got another staff member to show me the facility she was very polite and pose with making sure the environment was friendly and had plenty to offer.I got the YBOR REVIVOR THERAPY 50 MIN from a male technician (can't remember his name) he was super friendly and had a gentle voice, he made me feel comfortable and secure. The massage felt as if I was part of the ocean waves itself, so tranquil and at peace. I will definitely be returning with hopes to get everything the facility offered as I had a later appointment due to other unexpected errands on my day off. Would like to mention they did not rush me when it was closing time and the girl from the facility tour made sure to tell me of grabbing snacks before I go & brought My complimentary drink. I had to ask a spa attendant to ask them to stop using facetime. my actual massage was a 3/5. lots of elbows but didn't really get into the problem areas and they automatically include 20% gratuity which I think leads to the massage therapist not trying very hard. Had a facial with Regina and it was amazing. She really cares for you head to toe and has a calming side to her, which is exactly what I needed during this visit. I was also pleasantly surprised by the spa facilities and staff. Fantastic, service was incredible. Keep in mind it's the JW so you will pay JW prices but the spa area was clean and the attendants were incredibly friendly and helpful.
