I stumbled on Chi Reflexology and, after reading the posted reviews, decided to check them out. Not only is Chi more affordable, but the layout is more aesthetically pleasing and the credit card fee is only $1, not $3 as was required by the other place. I got there at 1:15 requesting a 30-minute foot massage and was asked if I called. I referenced on their flyers that they welcomed walk-ins and was told to return at 2 p.m. (So, future note to self, call ahead to determine best time to get there). Luckily, it is situated in a plaza with a King Soopers, so I had no problem burning the 40 minutes walking around the grocery. Once I returned at 2:00 p.m., I was asked to sit at one of their massage chair (sofa?) and they proceeded with the massage. THIS is what I have been searching for. In Houston, I would regularly get foot massages and finding one to replace that tradition was challenging, but I think I might have found my spot. The massage had me rolling my eyes back into my head while feeling a sense of relaxing euphoria. I don't want to jinx myself, but I might have found my Houston replacement. The massages are done in a large room where both the chair/sofas and beds are placed. Unless, you need privacy, there really isn't any unless you are taken to the rooms in the back. However, it is quiet, and the masseuses seem skilled. At $32 for the 30-min foot massage, I will be back again and on a regular basis. Remember: there is a $1 charge for credit card use, so if you don't want to pay that fee walk with cash. Chi Reflexology, I will be back.

When I asked who I was texting, the response was unclear and a bit abrupt. Eventually I realized it was the massage place, but the communication was very difficult due to the language barrier and lack of clarity. Around 11:00, I was told they could only do a 60-minute massage if I came immediately, so I adjusted my schedule and arrived early. When I got there, the therapist used Google Translate to tell me she had another client at 12:30 and implied that if I had come earlier (which was never clearly communicated), she could have done the full 90 minutes. At that point, after the confusing communication and change of plans, I decided to leave. The space itself also felt a bit off to me--it had a strong chemical cleaning smell and didn't feel particularly welcoming or relaxing. Overall, the lack of clear communication and inconsistency made this a disappointing experience. I waited by my phone and 10 minutes after the agreed time, I decided to give them a call. They said they expected the interview to be in person. So I apologized, even though it was not my mistake, and we agreed I would be able to do an in person interview an hour later. I got there, the interview went great, and they said they would get back to me within a week. A week passes and I still haven't heard anything back. I call them the next Saturday, but no one answered the phone. I called again the following Monday and told them I want to check on the status of my application. They put me on hold for a few seconds and then tell me that the doctor is sorry to get back to me so late but that the position has been filled. Very unprofessional for an employer to not get back to applicants at all until they check in, especially when it was communicated by the employer that they would reach out to you within a certain time frame.
