We were here at the end of November. There's quite a few souvenir shops in the area. It's small and quite narrow, but it's wall to wall with every imaginable souvenir you could think up of. I was looking for some unique sweatshirts or items for my niece and nephew. Nothing really stood out as special or unique, but you can get a standard sweatshirt here or mug or something for sure. It's was a curious walk through for us, but it's always good to check out other stores just in case. read more

When you are a tourist, you think all souvenir shops are the same, right? This place is not just any souvenir shop. For those that know me, I never hand out 5 star reviews. Unless you truly absolutely deserve it, and I receive something from your location I never received before. Normally I'm not one to care about reviewing anything but drinks and food. This place got my five star review. The owner (Mike) has mastered the art of customer service. How do you distinguish your business from those that sell the same idea ? You sell the experience, and good product. That is what mike has done here. You will never receive the customer service at a souvenir shop like you receive here. We where treated amazingly. He also has quality items. He makes it so you want to stay there long and chat and enjoy your time there. To the point that his shop is basically a place of interest In old Montreal. I had a great time there and you will enjoy yourself too, I promise it. If u want a basic souvenir experience don't go here. If you want an unforgettable one? Go here . I was looking for a souvenir shop that sold specifically maple cookies and stumbled upon this store. It's a family owned shop with great deals. The owner, Mike, walked us through his store and provided maple cookie samples. Mike explained how he tests his products before selling it in his store. He talked about how it took him 2 years to find the perfect organic maple syrup to put in his store and even offered a discount. Can't say no to discounts but also love supporting local shops. Is it possible for one souvenir shop to be better than others? You bet. "Souvenir" means "remember," and when you come to this tiny little shop, not only do you get some reasonable deals, you get a sense of _family_. The owners of this shop really know how to treat their customers, and how to walk the fine line between helping you find what you want and hovering over your shoulder. I think this is the only souvenir shop I've ever visited that I will actually _remember_. read more

They carry ties, bowties, belts, watches, wallets, rings, bracelets, cufflinks, lapel pins, necklaces, underwear, and other accessories. Much of the store includes finely curated, quality brands that are often hard to find. But their crowning gem are their custom ties and bowties. They have flare, can be bold in modern, and yet are crafted from fine silks and cottons from all over the world. They'll even make something with fabric of your choosing--tailors for men's accessories! Genius. The staff was one of the tailors and super helpful and engaging. She goes on trade shows and tends to sell out everything when she goes. There are very few repeats and eat time is unique. I'll be visiting each time I'm in Montreal and likely will be sending some email requests shortly.

After I returned it, SSENSE sent me blurry photos showing what they described as dark or black staining and stated that the damage was caused by me. This was confusing, as the condition shown in their photos does not reflect anything I personally observed or caused. Given that the item is made of silk -- a very delicate fabric -- my reasonable assumption is that any discoloration could have occurred during handling, storage, or packaging, including possible transfer from the cardboard materials used in shipping. I approached this situation respectfully and in good faith, but my refund request was denied, with responsibility placed entirely on me. I found this handling disappointing and lacking transparency, especially for a fragile item that was never worn. I'm sharing this feedback so others are aware and in the hope that SSENSE improves how it reviews and resolves return disputes involving delicate materials.

I did try phoning to ask a question and received voicemail. Only after trying back a few times did they pickup. I would not hesitate to purchase from Rooney again if they have something I want at a good price in the future.

Somethings are a little ridiculous like $160 for a pair of shorts. There are cheaper ones however, but still... Service is only okay, I would expect a store with this price point to offer perhaps a little more friendly service. At least paying at the till was fast. Take advantage of their sales that happen once in awhile to offset the high pricetags here!

Throw in some Ray Bans, bean bag chairs, leather satchels, and graphic t-shirts and flak jackets (oh, and a few retro metal lunch boxes for good measure), and you have the gist of this eclectic, wonderful store on St. Denis. There's two levels, and the main street level has the lion's share of clothing and shoes. Vans, Converse, DM's, trendy flip-flops... My kid is a sneaker fanatic and we couldn't tear her away from this store. We loved how all the differently designed sneaks were suspended from the ceiling. Like, hundreds! Yes, shoes and sneakers are a definite draw here, but there seems to be so much more hidden around every corner. And the store is deep, and there's a downstairs which has a gazillion different backpacks here. I'm not exaggerating. A gazillion. What a fun store! Very unique and funky. And the staff here were super friendly, too. Bonus! This was my kid's favorite store in all of Montreal and, if truth be known, we loved it too.

I don't usually review souvenir shops because well...all of them are pretty much the same but I have to say, this shop stood out for ALL the right reasons. We've all been in souvenir shops before. You go in, an employee might say hello to you, you either buy or don't buy something and then you leave. Things are different at this store. Mike, the owner provides such great customer service! He will talk to you like you are an actual human being and will really try to help you find what you are looking for. He's understands that you may be just looking and may not buy from his shop but he's a friendly guy and he has some really good stuff as well. Coming from Las Vegas I know exactly what great hospitality and customer service looks like and this shop is a representation of that definition. Will be back if I ever return to Montreal! read more

This is the best souvenir store in probably the entire world! The owner was super nice and helped us out a lot. We bought a hoodie which fit perfectly and maple syrup cookies which were very tasty. There were also many souvenirs to choose from. We got one souvenir that said Montréal on it. The owner was also super nice and gave us an extra souvenir for free! Its a great shop with lots of variety. The owner is friendly, kind, and very generous. I would highly suggest buying your souvenirs here! Looking at almost every souvenir shop in Old Montreal, we found our favourite items (we were looking for crewnecks and shot glasses), and we found the nicest of the bunch here. A delightful shop with some awesome selections to pick from. The owner was super accommodating and even allowed me to take a shirt free of charge (due to a small stain on it, a simple wash and it was like new). Would definitely recommend this place for your souvenir needs. read more
