I've used this company before and had no problems. Recently got artificial turf and had issues with my irrigation system. Sw irrigation sent out a technician Mr. C. who pulled up a significant amount of turf and left it. I had to call back and have him come back out and the system is still needing adjustments. SW irrigation was advertised about the turf needing to be retacked and I was told by Ms A to send the invoice for the repairs and it would be handled. Ms A was very apologetic. I spoke to another person after the turf was repaired at $1,300.00 and I was advertised several times by Ms. J they would get with the management and call me back. I never go a call back. I kept calling and was advertised today sorry, they're not paying for the repairs of rhe turf, not even half. I was advertised by Ms J the best they can do is refund a little over $100 for the repairs to the irrigation system. Oh yes, that was after I canceled my service plan. I was advertised by Ms J told the technician he could pull the turf up. Funny ...I have cameras and I wasn't anywhere around when the turf was pulled up. The least Southwest Irrigaiton could do is pay half for the turf repair especially since my Irrigaiton system is still in need of repair and adjustments. I advised Ms J when you have to follow the technician and tell him what to do and to check the system, I don't need the service. I am a VIP customer who has my sprinkler system checked, and maintained twice a year. And for any emergencies, I can always call and depend on them. In fact recently I had routine regular spring summer system check and maintenance and my specialist Morgan, was phenomenal. He found minor issues that were under warranty as well as other small things that needed to be done sooner than later, and he showed me everything in fact, went through everything two or three times until it was met to his satisfaction and mine. Fair price, professional, and finished within schedule. My side yard was getting really bad drainage issues during moderate to heavy rain. After installing three catch basins that led to a pop up emitter, my problem was reduced significantly. The job took one day to do. The crew of 3-4 men showed up in the morning and it started working for about an hour until it rained. The rain continued up until lunch time so they waited around. After the rain, they quickly got back to work and finished before sun down. All in all, a long trench was dug up, large roots were cut, and PVC piping was laid with proper slope. The grass that was previously removed was laid back over the soil and survived. I had hoped to get a hole drilled into the curb for the output because I'm not a fan of pop up emitters, but the city I live in now prohibits them for some reason. At least the pop up emitter that was installed is the spring type. During the digging process, two sprinkler lines were broken but they fixed it. It's really common for sprinkler lines to get broken so it's expected. It was a lot of work. If was to do this myself, it would have taken my days and my back would have been super sore. read more

We previously used SWIS for sprinkler and drain maintenance without issues. We recently asked them to move our sprinkler controller box from one spot in the garage to another to free up some space. When we called, we were give an estimate of around $125. On arrival, we were told that was only for the service appt and were given a new estimate of $350 for labor including fixing the holes in our current drywall. During the move, our previously working controller suddenly "stopped working." We were then told that we needed to pay an additional $500 for a new controller, which broke during the move. Feeling scammed, we declined and called the company. A senior technician came and replaced the power cord, which fixed the controller. We were then told that it is not an uncommon occurrence - if so, a heads up would have been nice so as we probably wouldn't have moved our controller in the first place. We were also told that the $350 of labor to move the controller included patching up the holes in our wall from the move, but this was not completed. Unfortunately, we will no longer be using this company after this experience. read more

I have used them in the past and they are expensive which must be the reason that they have availability. Ever time they come over, they charge a system check for the service/diagnostic fee and try to upsell the replacement of sprinkler heads. Each time, I knew the issue and just want a valve replaced or something simple, but they insist on changing the diagnostic fee, then anything that you need is added. Most companies waive the service fee or discount the fee if they only make the requested repairs. Called them again last week, and same story- they are selling me something that I don't want. All I wanted was a solenoid and valve replaced. Found another firm that was happy to do the work with a minimal service fee and a competitive cost. read more

They did warn me it would be more than 2 weeks to get an appt to replace my sprinkler control box. They should have warned me, though, it would be $600 (12 zones) when I made the appt or before doing the controller replacement. A friend told me afterwards her company charged her $275 and another quote I received afterwards was $300. The repairman told me after installing the box I needed 19 new heads that were "original" (25 yrs old). I said there's no way there were any original heads after 25 years! Also, Two mos prior I paid another co to check system and replace lots of heads so I knew that could not be right also. So SW guy had flagged the "bad" ones But when I told him I just had them replaced and I will have to have the previous Company come back out and recheck those he said "oh well I have to pull my flags (bad heads) since we're not doing the work." He wanted another $600 to replace them. So I have no idea which ones but 19 heads sounds ridiculous. That would be more than half my heads. read more

I was having an issue where my fuse kept blowing in Rainbird sprinkler and I was getting PR OFF error. Sprinkler would run and shutdown in Zone 3. PROS: They came quickly and worked diligently to resolve the issue. CONS: They were very expensive and after replacing a couple of solenoids and raising a sprinler head, they suggested I buy a new controller for more than $1500 (Whew!). They had to come out twice because they did not have a fuse to test the first repair. By the time I got a fuse, discovered Zone 3 was gone and they came back out, they figured it was another solenoid. They mentioned a fee to find the valve boxes if it took more than 15 minute although I gave them my maps. They did not charge another service call fee though which makes sense. Also be warned, the service call fee does not apply to repairs--just diagnosis. Hardly seems fair when only 10 minutes were spent identifying issue. BTW, I did not buy the new controller and the sprinkler worked once I got a new fuse. read more

Asked them to take a look at our irrigation system because we have a leak. We were charged over $300 for them to dig a hole. Charged a diagnostic fee but they were unable to diagnose the problem. Told us it's gonna cost over $600 to keep digging to find the problem. We told them no thanks, got someone else and they were able to help us. Would not recommend this company. 3 years after SWIS installed my drainage system, I have remained a loyal customer. We signed up for the yearly maintenance program where a couple of techs come out 4 times a year, test the system, replace broken heads, and make adjustments. They have never missed a window to arrive, and I often see many of the same guys who are now very familiar with my system. They never try to upsell without valid explanations. I have only had a couple of emergencies and they were prompt and responsive both times. Josh and Luis came out today and provided excellent service. They are both extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and the familiar faces are a testament to a well run business with low turnover. I continue to highly recommend SWIS. read more

They'll give you a window of time to arrive but don't do that so if you have other appointments you'll be left waiting and will have to change your whole days schedule because they don't show up like they say they will during that window . And that's a shame because my time is valuable ! Also they came back to do a sprinkler check and I told the tech to text me since I was on a long distance call with the hospital to chk on relatives with covid 19. After making several long distance calls I hadn't noticed a text from the tech saying they were leaving because they hadn't heard back fro me. They didn't try to knock on the door or ring the doorbell. That just drove off without telling me if trying to see if I had even gotten their text! That meant they left while leaving my garage door open and gates unlocked! They were supposed to adjust the sprinklers and put in some new sprinkler heads and didn't do anything at all. They told me there would be a window of 830 to 11:30 for his arrival so I waited on them starting at 7:30 in the morning to be sure I was home. When he arrived he went over what they would do bit left before doing nothing. It would've made sense to knock on my dour or ring the doorbell to see if the text msg was received instead of just driving off! I would highly suggest that you don't do business with this company. The first time they came they left water dripping which caused a muddy area all on the side of my house where my dog would walk in it and then track that mud into the house and rats were drinking the water as well as possums at night so they caused a hazard that we now have to fix . Then the second time this guy comes he didn't do anything big just say in the car for 45 mins waiting on me to text him back however I had no idea he had texted me since I was on a long distance call checking on dying relatives with covid 19. His uncaring abs unprofessional is that! Find another company because these people will just waste your good time . They don't show up when they say they will abs if they do show up they may just drive off . The first time they cans they were thirty minutes late so I had to cancel dr. Appointments which is very upsetting and left water dripping when they did come . The second time they sent a guy and he made rude remarks and tried to tell me to leave the sprinkler turned off for three days so my grass could die until the tech who left it dripping could come back and fix it. I had to force the guy in these pics to fix the dripping ! The third time they came the guy who caused the dripping sat in his car and didn't do anything then he drove off after I'd made plans to be home three hrs ahead of time to get the work done! They are highly priced too and will damage your lawn like they did ours instead of trying to fix the problem They only made it worse. Take my advice, call another company because these people don't know what the hell they are doing, and to suggest I leave my sprinkler off in 95 degree weather so that the grass and flowers would die instead of fixing the problem is ridiculous! Contacted to get a "Quote" for a full yard sprinkler system. Called left message, rep called back, I was trying to set an appointment for their rep to come out after 1:30 in afternoon. They will set 4 per day. Last one at 12-1:30 I was being considerate, trying to schedule for several different days, evening, weekends. He did say they will come out on certain Saturday's. Couldn't tell me when. So after 1:30 no appointments. I forgot, I'm just the customer. We should ignore our work schedules, to work when their sales/estimators want to come out, Ive been sales/ Sales Mgmt well over 30 years, never tried that tactic. Don't plan to start. I want to thank the owner for responding to my review. Unfortunately he did not cover any of the issues that I mentioned. Let us try again: 1) did not receive an estimate before any work began. Had I known that only the pressure switch and pressure gauge needed to be replaced. I could have gone to one of the local "big box" stores, like SWIS's technician did, purchased the items and save the 400% markup ($140). 2) the use of 3 people, with 1 doing the work and 2 watching. If my call was a training session for the company I should not be charged their booking hours. 3) a labor rate of $225 for 1 hour charged. Even plumbers do not make that rate. 4) I understand the $125 charge just to evaluate my system. An evaluation was never done. Also most companies, not all, include that fee if work was approved and done. Since I did not, nor your representative on the phone when making the scheduled appointment specially talked about this, I just want to know what is your company's policy about this fee? 5) The work done was satisfactory, as my system is working properly. My real issue is the billing. If someone from your company would reach out to contact me to discuss these issues I really would appreciate it. read more

Just can't recommend. I've used 3 different irrigation system repair companies over the last few years and Southwest Irrigation is BY FAR the most expensive. Like 3x more expensive. I'd like to say I have complicated issues with my sprinkler system, but my repairs are generally a broken pipe or need a few heads adjusted. My last few companies? $85 for this type of service visit. Southwest? $250-to $700 for simple repairs. I'll go back to the last company I used that does repairs for a third of the price and does just as good of work. read more

I just recently built a house and it's been 1 year. The house came with a sprinkler system installed by the builders landscaping company who installed all the landscaping along with the irrigation system. I expanded my driveway therefore i need to move 2 sprinkler heads so I tried calling my original installer but they would pick up and hang up the phone. That tells you the type of company they are. So I pulled up google looking for irrigation company and i found SWIS mainly because of their high review rating. I read thru 40 reviews and right there and then i knew this would be the company. I called and spoke to Sophie which was very kind and very helpful. She took the time to work with my schedule given the concrete guys was coming at a certain time. I took pictures of the job and sent it to her and had her techs look at it and help confirm they can do the job. Originally I missed the window to have someone come due to waiting for the concrete guys. But when the day came and the concrete came, i called early morning and Thank God they were able to fit me in within a 30 min window. I met Ronald and Zach and showed them what needed to be done. Let me tell you, originally i needed to have 2 Sprinkler heads moved but after i saw how knowledgeable they are and they took the time to explain to me exactly what they were working with. I felt confident this was the guys I would want to check all my sprinklers heads that was installed by the builder. After they finish moving the 2 sprinkler heads I asked if they can go thru the 17 heads around the property to make sure they are all aimed and level cause some of them come to find out was broken, leaking water for God knows how long and aiming down due to dirt and grass shifted it. They went thru each Sprinkler heads and adjusted the spray to make sure it's not hitting my bricks, fence and wasting water on the ground. They also made sure each heads was level and balance. I wasn't planning to spend this type of money but I"m very glad i did as you know the saying, you get what you pay for. I can tell you I paid for quality work which I'm very satisfied with. This 2 guys worked hard to make sure each of the sprinkler heads was perfected before they left and the most thankful part is they pointed out a couple of sprinkler heads that was missing cause it was burried under the grass and could not pop up which I would not have known if they have not pointed it out to me. Specially the one that broke and was leaking tons of water. I recommend this company for all your drainage and irrigation needs and ask for Zach and Ronald as they are expert at what they do. Don't ask a landscaper to do a Irrigation job which i did cause that would just be a waste of money as I did. read more

Overall, excluding labor cost for a moment, the service was good. Call in experience was welcoming, and the techs addressed my issues related to my irrigation system. After the call and paying, I searched the cost of a replacement valve for one zone ($35), and the cost of the controller unit ($135) they recommended and replaced which is the main programming unit that mounts in the garage. The total tab for just slightly more than one hour, was $500. if you do the math, $500 (-) $170 for parts = $330 for one hour of labor - - - Too expensive for my blood, and will not use SWIS again. I even joked when I called in how I am always skeptical of outside labor repair services, so that conversation obviously, did nothing to treat me fair. read more

Wow! Impressive service. First, we get a text with the photo of the person who will be coming and the approx. arrival time. Right on time, young KOBE shows up and gets to work on the problem. I gave him a summary of the problem and he zeroed in on the valve that was not functioning. He gave me an estimate of the replacement of the valve and labor. I let him get after it and not more than 10 minutes later he knocks on the door and says that he is done. It turns out that the connecting wires to the valve were corroded and the valve was fine. THE VALVE WAS FINE. Now I am not the most skeptical person, but then, I'll bet you a dollar to a doughnut that many other companies would have replaced the valve regardless!! So by this young man being an honest fellow, I paid $150 less than originally quoted. The technician, A young 20-year-old, was as courteous and professional as a seasoned veteran. Very impressive. Overall, I would give this company 10 stars if I could and I would feel very confident in recommending them to anyone. Rest assured, you will be treated right!! Great company!!!! read more

They called before arriving and arrived 17 minutes before their scheduled time and were very courteous and quick. They did not waste any unnecessary time and provided a full and detailed review of what was wrong and needed to be fixed. They diagnosed not only the main problem but also the potential problem with our irrigation system and were able to provide realistic alternatives on how to fix it quickly. I also read the lone negative review before I called them but I am very glad that I gave them a chance and I was not disappointed. The staff at their office was also very nice with the appointment (Krista and Lindsay) and their representatives Joshua and Jeb did an excellent job while they were out here at our home. I live in Sugar Land and called other companies as well before I decided on Southwest, but a lot of the other companies did not pick up or call back. The only people who called me back said that Sugar Land was too far for them to come out. I am a female and had to get all this done on my own and did not want to get screwed over by any contractors but these guys accommodated me quickly and honestly and did not over charge me. I did not see them stand around and waste anytime unlike the other reviewer. Very affordable price. They did a great job replacing the cracked backflow due to the freeze in the Winter. They came in a crew of 2 and they did it very quick. They cleaned up before leaving so if you are an OCD like me, you will be very happy . They are very professional, and friendly. Highly recommend this company to anyone who needs sprinklers service. The downsize is they do charge service fee which is $80 something, and it won't be credited back if you use them after agreeing the price. I decided to call out Southwest Irrigation Systems, they found that it was just a broken sprinkler head. At that time they took a look at my system told me everything was in great shape except for the backflow. Due to a layoff I was not able to have it replaced at that time. I had called and made an appointment for Nov 14 to schedule the repair. Miguel and Jeb showed up right on time. They were both very professional and knew what they were doing.
