This is a tough one for me since I love the beachy laid back atmosphere here and most of the…read moreemployees appear friendly. But my last visit was not the same. We sat outside and our waitress came up to the table with a sour face. You could say she was as cold as my friend's burger patty (which I'm told tasted like a frozen patty that hadn't been cooked long). I wish we had sat one section over and got the smiley, attentative waitress. My fish and chips on the other hand were packed with cajun flavor and nice and hot! I also tried the onion rings and they appeared fresh and homemade. I guess it depends on what you order. Maybe the seafood will just always be the better option at this spot. The bar area is full of regulars and fun characters. So I probably will give this place another chance and just steer clear of cold lady and cold burgers. I won't throw it out as an option due to one employee just yet.

We weren't the only ones complaining Alicia, who waited on us was fabulous. Her smile and interaction with her is the only reason we would go back again and try something else. She continued to apologize, but it wasn't her faults. Aiden is another great waitress. Always smiling. The rest of them beside working behind the bar should go find jobs else where no matter how nice we are to them, especially one of them they can't greet you with a smile. Just not their cup of tea. This place needs more Alicia's and Aidens. 2 stars for the food and a 10+ for Alicia

The Boat, Oyster Bar & Grill - Fish and chips were delicious but I was told burger seemed like a frozen patty that didn't get warmed up enough.

A group of us were staying at the Holiday Inn Express next door. We got in a little late (close to…read moremidnight) and we were looking to get into some shenanigans. Nautilus to the rescue. Not sure where they got the beach bar theme, as there is no ocean within hundreds of miles. Wishful thinking perhaps. The tables were made of surfboards, and there were loads of tiki decorations to fit the bill. The bartender said that Bud Light was on special ($2), but I figured that being in the middle of nowhere, they had to have some good deals. "What do you have in bottle?" I asked the bartender. "Import or domestic?" She asked in return. "Ummm... Import." "Well we have Dos Equis, Shiner, Corona, Land Shark..." "Ill just do the Bud Light." I interrupted. I figured that since half of the beers she had named thus far were American (one of them Texan) it might be safer just to make it easy on her. They had a stage, but no music that night. Well, aside from long lost "hits" from the 90's- a little "I'm Gonna Be (500 miles)" anyone? Didnt think so. They had an electronic dart board (one set of darts), a Fusbol and a pool table. We were able to entertain ourselves as well as the yokels, until 2 am when they closed. It was one of those places where you get- "Yer not from round here are ye?" A lot. But they were fun. I was a little worried that there might be a fight, as the attention of the two "girls" that were in the bar, were quickly diverted from said yokels, to us. Thankfully, there was no fight. I think thats because Kevin, the head hillbilly, kept falling down and had to leave. I still have Kevin's bitchin american flag lighter that he dropped during one spill. Thanks Kevin. If your in the area, check out the Beach bar. Do not make a special trip.
