At 35 weeks pregnant, I wanted a deeper clean to prepare for the new baby. While the cleaning service I requested was responsive and polite, it left a lot to ask for. I made my appointment for 9:00 am. No one showed up until slightly past 9:30 am. I did get a text that he was running 10 minutes late. I specifically asked for fridge cleaning, but I didn't realize it would eat up 1.5 hr of time. The cleaner was very meticulous in soaking each tray. Freezer cleaning was not included. At this point, I was a bit concerned since our apartment had 2 bedrooms and one bathroom, and we only had 1.5 hr left. But he quickly moved onto the bathroom, which only took 30 minutes. I was surprised, but on closer inspection, I could see why. Unlike my previous cleaner, he only cleaned spots that he saw were dirty. If he didn't see it (which seemed to be a lot), it was skipped over. The shower doors and some areas inside the tub were completely untouched. I asked for him to clean the floors of the rooms as well since we had time, but he didn't have a broom, mop, or vacuum. He ended up just using our vacuum (which is something I already do). We did a couple of walkthroughs, where I asked him to dust this and that, but after the second reminder and still seeing missed areas, I gave up. I ended up spending another hour just hand-wiping the floors and dusting myself. I was told that there was a miscommunication, and he was actually a last-minute replacement. He thought a second cleaner was coming with him (she was out sick), so that's why he didn't bring any larger supplies. I assumed he was new, and that's why so many things were missed. I paid in full, albeit with a smaller tip, and asked Denna (his boss) about it. She informed me he was not new. She did offer to have him come back to cleaned what he missed, but I had already covered most of it. He did do a great job in cleaning the inside of the fridge and taking out the trash (although he unknowingly dumped the stash of unused trash bags/mini duster in the wastebasket under the trash bag). All in all, it was a disappointing experience even though both staff members had good attitudes. Although I booked a deep clean, the level of care was subpar to a standard clean. One other thing is that the cleaner did wear shoes in the house, which had left some dark marks on our cream-colored living room rug and shoeprints on the wood floors. I didn't notice until after he had left.
