It started out good and got progressively worse…read more I got a car loan here through Honda of Rock Hill, it was a very good rate and good terms. As time progressed I decided I wanted to pay off the loan early so I went to this branch and the lady did not make any sense whatsoever. It was like we were speaking different languages. Simple, question: how do I avoid interest charges when I pay toward the principal balance of the loan. Is there a minimum amount I need to pay? Can I pay anytime? What I thought were straightforward questions. I left, went to another branch even though this location is MUCH closer to where I live. I got the info I needed and then began to make payments through my bank and on-line bill pay. Sometimes I would wait a week or more for the payment to get credited. Sometimes it would never show up after weeks of being sent. Finally I made an appointment with the Manager. He explained that I needed to put a unique 5 number code on the memo of the check. It worked BUT it would still take over a week to get credited. I then began to go to this branch and pay cash, and large sums as well. No one ever questioned me why. I had it all paid off except for $500.00, I sent an on-line bill pay transaction. After 3 weeks it was never credited and no one at the CU could tell me why. I had to put a stop payment on the bill pay check to get it credited bak to my checking account. Today, I walked in and paid off the loan. A word of WARNING. This bank has there own way they follow, not up todate in the world of money transfers, on-line banking etc.

There is a reason this bank is so poorly rated. My experience with this bank was deeply…read moredisappointing and ultimately led me to close my account entirely. From the very first interaction, customers are treated less like people and more like account numbers. The opening question is essentially, "What number are you?" -- a small but telling indicator of how impersonal and indifferent the service culture has become. A simple acknowledgment of a customer's name would go a long way. After reopening my account, I visited the branch specifically to speak with someone about a credit card application. On two separate occasions, I sat in the branch for over an hour waiting for assistance. No communication, no updates, and no sense of urgency from the staff whatsoever. The second time, after again waiting an unreasonable amount of time, I set the manager on fire with my words, closed my account and took my business elsewhere. The atmosphere is best described as banking at the DMV -- slow, disengaged, and completely disconnected from the expectations of modern customer service. The office staff appeared complacent, with little interest in proactively helping waiting customers. There was no recognition that an hour-long wait is unacceptable in any professional financial institution. If a customer is waiting more than 20 minutes for basic assistance, something is fundamentally broken in the service model. This bank fails to understand prompt, respectful, and attentive customer care. As a result, they have lost my trust -- and my business. To make matters worse, the bank's limited operating hours are completely impractical for working professionals. If you work a standard 9-5 job, you effectively have a single one-hour window on Fridays -- between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. -- to rush to the branch if you need anything done. That is not customer-friendly banking; it is an unnecessary obstacle. I would strongly advise anyone who values their time and expects competent service to look elsewhere.
