I double checked the hours posted on the door to make sure I wasn't getting the opening time wrong. They are supposed to open at 9. I waited until 9:20 standing at the door. This is to Georgia's Own company (not Evans GA. location)…read more Car loan rip-off: Stating I have 31/$35.00 late fees + other fees extending my loan 7 months. When it shows on the credit report 100% on time payments. I have consistently made all my payments on time, with deductions occurring biweekly from my paychecks. I possess all relevant documents to verify this information. While I did take one skip payment of $151.85, which extended my loan by one biweekly payment, my current balance is $1,670.35, corresponding to 11 biweekly payments of $151.85. However, the bank states that I owe $4,083.89, which is equivalent to 26.89 biweekly payments of $151.85. I believe this discrepancy results from unnecessary late fees and other charges incurred because my payments were not applied directly to my loan. According to my understanding, a $35.00 late fee is only applied after a 10-day grace period following the due date. I have emails from the original loan associate confirming that my loan payments would align with my biweekly pay schedule. Unfortunately, after Georgia's Own took over in September 2023, they stopped applying my deposits to the car loan. Since then, I have made all future payments over the phone and have incurred an $8.00 service fee each time. To minimise these charges, I have since opted to make monthly payments combining both biweekly amounts ($311.70) with the $8.00 service fee. As documented in the materials I uploaded, I have made 100% on-time payments and can provide records of all deductions and payments made. If Georgia's Own does not resolve this issue promptly, I will be forced to take this matter to small claims court and has already been reported to the BBB.
