I remember living in campus and enjoying all that their res life program has to offer. As a freshman I took advantage of the programs and as an upperclassman I helped plan them as an RA! The Student Union Programming Board also did a great job of planning campus wide events and making sure to be inclusive of all cultures and beliefs! I love that is a Jesuit institution and truly did teach me to be a (man) woman for others! The offices and professors here went above and beyond to make sure learning didn't stop when classes ended. I had great mentors and professors that reached out to me from time to time to make sure I was well adjusted. I was a sociology major and the people in that department are some who I still refer to as those that help mode my beliefs. This school gave me great opportunities to give back to others and be involved in the community that surrounded us. Now on to the campus! When you get on campus it kinda feels like a completely different world. Your a part of a greater community and can get lost in the beautiful landscaping. I love the addition of adirondack chairs around campus that encourages people to hang out in the grassy areas. As an alumni I'm still very involved and encourages anyone who is interested to apply. JCU isn't just a college, it's a beginning to the rest of your life!

There were several reasons why I chose Chanel: 1. The uniforms were not too bad and we were given some options to "mix things up a bit" 2 Small class sizes (as compared to local public schools and other larger Catholic Schools) 3 Nice community feel amongst the teachers, administrators, and students 4. Yes, it is a Catholic High School, but it did not feel "too churchy" and we Incorporated a lot of general philosophy concepts in our religion courses 5. Good theatre program 6. Good sports program (for boys and girls) 7. Good opportunities for community service and improving the lives of others through volunteering 8. They offered a tuition payment plan that was manageable for my family I really have great memories of high school. I think this is in large part due to my choosing Chanel.

On the first day of kindergarten I was able to walk her into the cafeteria. We were both unsure of what steps she needed to take to get her breakfast. I approached two adult women that were having a conversation and waiting for them to complete their conversation. Neither of the women greeted me or asked if they could assist me and my granddaughter in any way. After being ignored for several minutes I explained that this was my granddaughter's first day and if someone would explain where and what we needed to do. The two women spoke to me the same way they spoke to the children. They were both rude and abrupt. Certainly, not the welcoming environment for a new student or parent. I was then told that I had to leave. After leaving and discussing the rudeness of the two women in the cafeteria with my husband who was waiting outside the cafeteria, a gentleman that I believe serves as security approached me and my husband and reassured us that our granddaughter would be fine and he would ensure she got her breakfast and made it to class.
