The boat was spacious and comfortable, very stable even amid the small swell and wakes of other boats (my wife has gotten seasick in the past, but had absolutely no problem with this trip due to the stability of the boat and the skill of Aldo the Captain/pilot). We enjoyed seeing Dolphins and Pelicans, and even a ray just after sunset.The sunset was amazing and memorable, but not the best part of our tour. What was the best part? Being hosted by the owner and captain Aldo, and his first mate (wife] Demaris. They are happy and friendly, and very skilled at operating their boat. But more than that, they are excellent hosts. Captain Shannon did not maintain communication as was promised, but finally responded to calls and texts the night before at 9:00 p.m after promising he would call at 6:00 p.m.with a change of time and pick-up location. He said he had several bookings for the day, but offered me a tarpon trip for money which I declined. He called me the morning of the trip, May 21st, to cancel the trip. He said he was on the water, hit a submerged object and wrecked his boat. Said how about tomorrow??? No thanks! To date, no charge credit has been issued, and of course, no further communication from the careless captain! Needless to say, the family was very disappointed, and it was suggested that he simply bumped us for a full day charter. Wen speaking to me, "the captain" referred to me as "buddy". I have never really liked that term, and always felt that people who call me "buddy" are anything but. Captain Shannon is not my buddy and if you are smart, you will take this message to heart.
