First time getting my car towed. First time using Southern Style Towing. I called on a Friday for a scheduled Monday morning pick up. It was pricy but I expected that. I appreciated how quickly they sent an invoice with a breakdown of the cost for my review and for my records. I paid with a CC through an online website. On the day, about 25 minutes before the scheduled pick up, the tow driver called to confirm address for pick up (McDonough) and address for drop off (Decatur). He gave me an anticipated time of arrival based on GPS so I could be sure to have the car and extra key waiting. I got text alerts as well. The driver arrived promptly at the time he gave me. He took photos of the car before placing on the tow truck and took photos again once it was on there. It got dropped off to the body shop, easy-peasy. I would use again them again. read more

Very unprofessional tow service. They were to pick up mycar at 1. After several changes of time they kept promising 15 minutes then 5 minutes but no tow. They eventually just stopped taking my calls. After calling my insurance company, I found out that they canceled the entire service without letting me know due to a police emergency. I had to find out through my insurance company who had to locate a different tow service. Very unprofessional! No courtesy call, wouldn't even answer the phone. read more

I was told yesterday they would be here at 9am so my friend could pick up her car. I drove her and was supposed to drop off at 8:30. Luckily, I got time off work and was able to wait with her so she didn't have to be out in the heat. We called at 9am when they didn't show and was told 45 minutes We called again at 10am and was told 20 minutes and that also didn't happen. Your unprofessional attitude is polluting your company from the top down. The negative comments about AAA were very interesting to the AAA reps. The best part was when you said that " AAA " doesn't care. It appears that you have no respect for colleagues or customers. Your lack of character is astounding. I look forward to your response as you have committed yourself to statements that are false. And the company that kept me waiting for nearly 5 hours on the side of the road was yours JUSTIN!!! That was after 3 conversations with your dispatcher saying that it would only be another "20-30 minutes " There's a reason that your Yelp rating is only 3.8... And dropping fast. You weren't even honest about that. I invite anyone to look at your comments and then the facts. The time I Locked my keys out of the car I finally called another company. Frank's Towing said they would be there in 30 minutes and arrived in 28 minutes. 2 minutes early!! I highly recommend Frank's Towing to anyone who wants a professional tow service. My battery was completely dead so I called AAA. Southern Style Towing messaged me shortly thereafter saying that I had been put in their service schedule and that they would get to me as quickly as possible. I wasn't familiar with the company so I looked them up. Some of of their YELP reviews were fantastic while others were pretty bleak. I called them to get an ETA and was told 45-60 minutes. Within that timeframe I got a call from the driver who said he would be there shortly. The driver arrived, quickly jump-started my battery and answered all of my many questions. I was very satisfied with their service and will call them directly should the need arise. read more

Was referred to Southern Style by AAA. We gave AAA the address from Google which took them to the right location. When they called, we told them the building had a different address and gave them that address as well which also led them to the same address. This company decided to send us a bill to pay for more mileage and we declined as we didn't think this was our fault. We were simply trying to give them the address to help them find the car. The manager was not helpful and didn't accept any responsibility. He simply said it was AAAs fault and our fault for supplying wrong addresses. Our experience was not good. This review is more about Southern Style Towing through Pep Boys Tow service. They missed their estimated time for pick up by 2 hours plus waiting, which total almost 4 hours of waiting. I finally gave up and call another company which arrived in 27 minutes. The lesson I learned is if your car breaks down contact a local towing company. This company was 50 miles away. And they seem good at what they do because of all the reviews. However, SST if you are over extended, overwhelmed and can't provide the service, level with the customer upfront to make other arrangements. And don't send pre-written text with updates. I posted same review on Google. When I looked SST I yelp, where my car was is not even in the area that they provide service. Why accept the job? read more
