Had our roof replaced in 2019 and we have had leaks since the beginning. After 5 years of leaks I have damage in two rooms of my house, was told they would fix the inside and haven't heard back on any of that in months, we also have mold in the drop ceiling in both bathrooms now. Now the other side of the roof it is actually coming up and coming apart, we were told by one person from the company they didn't put in long enough screws since this is a metal roof and we were told they had to order them and we still have not received any information on when they will be installed. We have a lifetime warranty on this and cannot get anything thing done to fix the problems. read more

Terrible Customer Service All Around! Trevor came out for an estimate on replacement siding due to Helene. Insurance couldn't accept it because it wasn't a complete line by line estimate ( looked like it was done by a 1st grader too). Since Nov 11th I've been calling just to get it broken down and resubmitted. I can't get anyone to call me back. I then tried to get another one done and was told that I could not do that! Weird. I went with Southern Siding for new gutters first, the "sales" meeting was completely unnecessary and I don't like wasting my time. The guy showed up and insulted me by saying he preferred to discuss options with my husband present. First of all, the house is on my name and I handle the house maintenance. This isn't the 1950s. I am capable of making a decision without my husband. He repeatedly tried to sell me on the company... I already researched and I knew I was going with them... so this irritated me. Finally got to the point of signing the contract... which I made him come back for because he said it was going to take so much time to draw them up and I didn't want to wait around. So he came back, I signed the paper and gave my deposit. I was told 6 weeks to install. At least they warn you it's going to be a minute. So, 6 weeks came... no word. I called and it took me a couple days to get in touch with them because they don't leave voicemails. Finally, about 2 weeks later got my appointment for installation. The day of installation came, the guys did an awesome job. That's why they get 3 stars. The rest of the experience was awful... but the installers were awesome. Very patient and worked with me since I couldn't be home. They texted me photo options. This company needs to ditch the old fashioned mentality because I was offended... and I'm sure I'm not the only one... and I repeatedly told them I did t need a sales pitch... that I just wanted to see the options and the price. read more

The company does not stand by it's contractors work and do not have reasonable or credible response to problems once they get your money. My gutter covers are 1yr old and suck ass. They literally have my gutters clogged with dark staining showing on the front of my house. Whereas I use to clean my gutters the cover make it impossible to do & the company has made no expedited effort to assist in my many calls. I can now see water marks in my garage. This never happened before, obviously their covers are the reason but the company is more to blame. I wish they'd just remove their covers and hate I ever got the overpriced things. read more

I purchased K-guard gutters from Southern Siding in 2016, These gutters are very expensive and claim to be Life Time Warranty. Over the years I have experienced numerous leaks at the joints. Until today, Southern Siding has taken care of the leaks but a new Manager told me today that if I wanted repairs done it will be with a cost. In addition, one piece has defect where the finish is failing and this same Manager told me I was on my own. This manager was very rude to me and called me a liar when I told him I only used dawn liquid to clean my gutters. I have spent 40K on gutters and screened room and will never spend another dollar with is company because of their poor customer service. I will also discourage anyone from using this company because of their poor quality products and TERRIBLE customer service. Southern Siding is now managed by individuals with no experience with working with the customer and basically said stick it. With the current Management, Southern Siding will be out of business within a couple of years. If companies think they can make it without customer service they will find out the hard way after it is too late. I will recommend to all my friends to stay away from Southern Siding and spend their money on companies that care about the consumer. read more

I first hired SSWC to put up an awning/patio cover. Someone came out, took measurements, told us what was needed and what services come with the price. One was a free 1-year inspection (then 5-year...) after installation. No one showed at the time (8 or 9am) of scheduled installation. So, I had to call. I was told that someone had a flat tire and was delayed an hour. OK, things happen. Because of an hour delay, I was told that no one can come that day, which, makes no sense. Just show up at 9:00 or 10:00. When the new day arrived, the installer showed up and said that the measurements were not right and that I do not need a saddle as originally told. Another installer had to come out. In short, when the work was done, the quality was pretty good...just took a lot of aggravation to get to that point. A year later we were wondering what it would cost to put a chair in our shower and perhaps get a new shower. SSWC was one of the three I called for a quote. The salesman arrived on time, smelling of smoke, big time, like he had been at an all-night poker game. He took measurements and asked what we wanted and showed us samples. He worked up some numbers then told us that with parts, installation plus whatever, if anything, they had to repair upon removing the old tub and shower, and the free 1, 5, 10-year inspections, the cost would be $8900. I told him that it is way too expensive. He said, "How's $6800?" Just like that. Discounted 25%. In short, no sale. Months later someone called to follow-up. I told her that the prices are too high and the salesman's attitude and demeanor rubbed us the wrong way. She said that they are an entity of SSWC and are less costly. Someone came to take measurements...and gave a price of close to $6000. We agreed. When installation day came, guess what happened. I received a call at 7am stating that they are on route to the shop to get the materials and they will arrive at 7:30, our scheduled time. Soon thereafter I get another call informing me that the sliding glass door was not there and a reschedule was needed. Long story short, this is the SECOND time I hired them, and the second time they missed install. I called in and said to forget the whole thing. I'll hire someone else. After a few apologies, I was offered a 10% discount and assured that it would not happen again. On the new day to install, they were on time and ready to go. They showed us what they were doing and did a good job. But again, getting to that point was an ordeal. We called about the 1-year inspection and SSWC balked; asked for our "certificate" that we never received. Why not pull up my name and see that I am entitled to an inspection on the cover and on the shower? A few requests were made after that, but no one bothered. Eight days ago, I went to SSWC asking for an extension for the downspout that is too short. Don't have it. I asked for the inspections for the cover and shower. I was off this week and asked, if possible, for the inspections to be this week. My information was taken and printed out to be given to the appropriate person/department and I was assured that someone would call me, and hopefully we could get it done this week. No one called. I should have left a review long ago, after no luck getting someone out here to inspect. But after this, it's time. SSWC has refused to keep its end of our contract, which, is fraud, is it not? read more

Their policy states all adult members of the home must be present at the appointment. Reason is stated that this is so there is no confusion regarding color choices or similar type questions. I asked how many shades of White they sell because that is the color choice!!! Two appointments were scheduled and two appointments were missed by SS. Both appointments set for consecutive Saturday's because Saturday is only day available for two Full Time Working home owners to meet. Told when I called on Thursday to confirm the appointment I had to wait till they called me the next day (Friday) to confirm which I did and for the second Saturday they are a No Show. There will not be a Third Saturday wasted waiting on SS. As a Side Note: Both home owners are required to be there because the contractors Sales Rep does not want to hear "I need to discuss this with my husband". He needs a signed contract that same day. He reveals an inflated price to do the work that will decrease by a significant amount if the contract is signed today. Just remember the law states you have a timeframe (different times for different types) that you can cancel a contract. read more

I contacted Southern to replace our old tub in our house in Augusta, GA. The house was built in 1955 and the bathroom was original to the house (never updated). The salesman provided a quote to replace the tub, remove all the tile from the walls and replace it with wainscotting. Due to Covid, it took a few months for Koehler to catch up on manufacturing. We had the install done last week. The install crew was friendly, professional, and very hard-working (they took no breaks and didn't even stop for lunch!). Their work was outstanding. The bathroom looks amazing now and the new walk-in tub works wonderfully. My wife and I (both retirees) feel safer using the shower and enjoy using the tub's whirlpool feature. I highly recommend Southern and will hire them again when we are ready to replace our windows. read more

Salesperson was very unprofessional, condescending and critical of the age and condition of my home, that is in one of Atlanta's best areas.   I don't need that type of treatment from some two bit nobody salesperson who came to my home by the name of Randy Maynard.  He gave a long drawn out, boring, and unenthusiastic presentation and ended the presentation with a staged call to a sales manager to lower the price after he had shown me his lowest price, what a joke.  Basically a staged call to a sales manager, I felt like I was at a car dealership with those kind of antics.  I've never seen a remodeling company resort to such pathetic tactics.    Needless to say I didn't waste my time doing business with these people.  My hard earned money is better spend with someone more deserving, I now understand why there reviews are so low especially when I looked at their reviews on other sites read more

$2000 I wish I could get back.... Their sales rep CJ came to my house for an estimate on replacing my gutters for their leaf-guard gutters (I don't recall their patented name). Since my gutters were rusted and terrible and I was listing my house to sell, I decided to use them to update my gutters as an extra sales incentive in this current soft housing market. They gave me a date that they would come to do the gutters, on a Tuesday, so I worked with my realtor to have an open house the following weekend, along with a couple of showings. That was how the nightmare began.... Upon coming home on Wednesday after a 24 hour shift, I noticed that only part of the gutters had been fixed, but the front rusty gutters that were simply to be removed were still in place and part of the gutters were removed but not replaced (leaving a horrible incomplete look). I called that day and CJ said he would find out what happened. 2 days later after no results, I called 2 times again, and he finally said nothing would be fixed over the weekend, in spite of my plans for the open house and showings, of which he was already aware. He told me not to call the office, and he would make sure it would get fixed and we would get us a deal for our troubles. Midway through the next week nothing was done and no word from CJ in spite of multiple additional calls, so I went to the office where the office manager stated she knew nothing of my project. After almost an hour, it was determined that the gutter installers had decided that there was too much damage to the fascia boards to complete the job, but no one had passed that on to the office manager or, more importantly, ME, the CUSTOMER! Had I not gone to the office in person after a week of inactivity, I wonder if anything would have been done. What was worse, the office stated that this delay was normal in this line of work because sometimes it rains (again, though no one ever spoke with me, the customer, until I was forced to come to their office). After all was said and done and they completed the job in a few days (disregarding my open house and showings that looked awful), my wife went to pay since I had to work, Fran stated she would take off the $60 processing fee - even though CJ stated he would get us a good discount because he knew that we were so obviously put out for as much money as we spent - but she didn't even do that and we had to pay the remainder of our balance in full. Clearly, they care only about making wha tmoney they can, but they should not be trusted, especially considering the money they charge. read more

Had a contract written up 5-31 for a 4th project with them to have back patio screened in. Sales rep and builder both came out and measured. Different builder arrived yesterday 8-6 to build and he instantly realized he didnt have enough product. Both previous reps measured 3ft short and didnt realize they needed to pour extra concrete. They also didnt see the sprinklers that were in the way. Got a call from sales manager and he stated it would be an extra 2500 for the concrete. Then he asked to come out to look himself...quickly realized their mistakes and promised he would try to make it right. Got call from him today saying he just couldnt crunch the numbers and needed to cancel my project. None of this was my fault but of course I'm the only one impacted. I'll use Window world going forward. They lost a repeat customer. Not to mention they already ran my credit. read more

So it was the wrong door and they broke the sidelight, so now I have the old door which I can see has a gap I can see outside now so it's gonna leak, worse off now than before I want to say I'm back at square 1 but I'm in the negative digits at this point Unfortunately the poor reviews you are seeing are true. I've purchased windows for my entire house and doors from them. They do a great job with the sales pitch, the problem starts when you need them to come out and fix a problem aka customer service. It took two years to get a replacement door that was still under warranty and they lost my covered up my doorbell wiring during installation of the door, you would think when they replaced the door they would have coordinated an electrician to be here when they removed the door but No that would take some coordination now I have to wait on and electrician and then they will come back and Finish up the job. Crap like this picture is what I'm talking about, wouldnt it have made since to remove the hardware before the door is removed and placed on the new door? Instead of doing it while I don't have door on my house I mean damn all my cold air!!!!Bottom line go to Lowe's or Home Depot you'll get better customer service!!!!! read more

About 6 weeks ago on Thursday 7/25th, I stopped by Southern Siding to get a quote on a cover for a parking pad in my backyard and to enclose a patio. The salesman, Peter Cameron, said he would come by the next day, Friday, and work up an estimate. He never came or called. I called him the following Monday morning and he said, "he had gotten busy and had forgot about coming by". OK...I then asked him when he could give me an estimate. He said the following Thursday 8/1st. He came, took his measurements, and said he would email the estimates. I never heard from him. In the last 2 weeks I have stopped by Southern Siding and stood in the showroom for about 5 minutes each time and no one came out to inquire if I needed help. Today I went again and talked with Mr. Cameron. He said he was checking with manufacturers and was about half finished. I told him he could have at least called me and let me know what was going on. For this much money, I should have perfect windows, but instead the stop 5" short from the top, they are loose in the frame, and sag when trying to lift all the way. I keep getting told that someone is going to come and look at the windows, despite me providing them a video. Most likely its an opportunity for them to come into your home and try aggressive and pushy sales tactics until you waiver or fold and keep their windows. So a google search for window sale scams. I highly recommend them to redo yours. you will not be disappointed. The men doing the work were very friendly and professional. When they cleaned up they even did more than they messed up. Had an appointment scheduled at a time when both of us were available. On the day of the appointment they called to reschedule to a later time. When they missed the second time and called, the guy found out that only one of us would be there. He tried to get me to reschedule then. I told him I thought I could handle the free estimate they promised and was not willing to reschedule so he should just come on because i was home and waiting. He was a no show. I selected Southern Siding & Windows from a Sam's Club vendor for a NEW roof on one of my six rental properties. The first meeting when well at the house with the salesman. I gave them the job to install the new roof. On the day of the installation I discovered that Southern Siding & Windows sub-contracts their work. Nothing against sub-contractors but the 3 roof workers were Mexicans who spoke very little to NO English. I asked who was in charge and they ALL had no idea what I was asking, then one of the 3 said" boss back at office" The house required to have electric to run power equipment, but the electric was not on and they did not bring a generator to start their work at the work site. This is crazy. After the roof was already installed the 3 roof workers forgot to install the drip cap around the entire house trim to prevent wood rot. The workers had to go back 3 weeks later lift up the bottom row of shingles to install the drip cap. But here is the kicker, there were vines growing along the side of the house and they went right over the vines with the drip cap. Now vines are under drip cap. Say what? The trash from the new roof installation remained in the front yard of the house for two weeks after the shingles were installed. Talk about a mess. As I told the salesman Mike who took the contract, you won't have to worry about me referring anyone to Southern Siding & Windows, that's won't happen ever. I am hoping the NEW roof costing $7,000 don't leak. I also told Mike that if any of the roof plywood after the old shingles were removed was bad to replace the plywood but if the workers missed the drip cap, you can bet they also missed any bad plywood as well. DO NOT USE SOUTHERN SIDING & WINDOWS for roof work. Just lousy workmanship Seems everybody is blaming others and nobody is checking on their sub-contractors work. I thought I could give Southern Siding & Windows some work. I should have stayed with my old roofers who do great work, but busy. I should have waited. Beyond insulted with this backward company. Apparently, they were just fine meeting with just me to go through my house to write up an estimate on new shingles. Apparently, they were fine the FOUR times they called to confirm the 11:00 am appointment to go over the estimate knowing my husband would not be there. Apparently, they were just fine cancelling the appointment and not informing me of the cancellation because my husband would not be there - wasting my entire morning - which apparently they could careless about. I guess a college educated, decision making grown woman can't choose and or pay for anything on her own. Us poor little ole things just bare foot and pregnant hanging out in the kitchen should just mind our own business and leave the decision making hard choices up to the men folk. They showed up on time, started working right away, and continued on through the grueling heat for about 8 hours until all our windows and shutters were in place. They went above and beyond by adjusting by hand the capping on the new windows so it would match our color scheme. My husband and I are building a house, so we went to Augusta to look at siding and windows. We walk in around 11:30 Saturday morning and we're greeted by a nice woman. I told her we are building a home and are just starting our research on siding and windows and could someone help us. She politely said that there are no sales people there on Saturdays and that it's best to come back during the week. A little surprised, I told her we work during the week and then I asked why they don't have sales people available on Saturdays. She said they just don't. So, we left. No answers, no information, no options. I would think this company would want to sell siding to people, but I guess not. This was a complete waste of time and effort. We would have gotten more answers if we went to Lowe's across the street. We won't be going back there because they don't seem to have their operation very well put together. We had a fantastic sales guy named Matt. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. However, the customer service side of their business needs some work. We made an appointment to have the installation done and a guy showed up and didn't have what was needed. So he said he would go get it and call us back to come back. He never called or showed back up that day. Two days went by and no one from Southern Siding called us. We had to call them to find out about our installation and when we called we could never get the right person or someone would take a message and never call us back. It took almost 3 weeks to get everything finally installed. Southern Siding definitely needs to work on their service side of the business and communicating better. read more

From my first meeting to get an estimate until the work was done, everyone I had dealings with at Southern Siding was gracious, professional, and friendly. The crew that installed the roof was a pleasure to deal with, and provided consistent updates on the progress of the work, and timelines for completion. The quality of the work itself is excellent - the roof is beautiful and does not leak (unlike the roof that was replaced), and putting a brand-new roof on a 120-year-old structure presents any number of challenges. I would not hesitate to recommend Southern siding for the quality of their work. The only issue I had was the amount of time that elapsed between the estimate and the completion of the work - the timelines were ore extended than I would like, but the final product is outstanding. read more

I went to the office to get an estimate on a repair in my house windows. I was called in within minutes to schedule the time. I spoke to Rachel. I gave her my address an time. She asked me if my wife was going to be home and I told her no because she was at work. She wanted to schedule when she was home and I told her that she didn't have to be there to do a and inspection and a quote. She told me she couldn't schedule me because the company policy is the both home owners have to be present. It is ridiculous! I understand for a contract, but for an estimate? This is a dishonest company so be aware. Based on every review I read I can't believe I went there. read more

I had Southern Siding install a handicap shower in my Mother's home. The installer Lee did an excellent job. He had the old tub and shower removed and the new one installed all in one day. He was very kind and patient with my Mother and spent time talking with her often. I now feel more confident about her being safe while in the bath with all of the new handicap bars and even a seat for her to sit while showering. Lee even returned a couple of weeks later and installed a new shower head holder for her convience at no extra charge. Thanks Lee and Southern Siding. read more
