I scheduled a consultation for my daughter regarding an osteoplasty, but only after asking for a clear cost breakdown in advance. I was given a CPT code that I used to get estimates from the two surgery centers the office works with. Based on those numbers, I scheduled both the consultation and surgery. The issue came later, when I asked for the final cost in writing. At that point, the surgery center said the CPT code provided wasn't specific enough and the actual cost was much higher than I had been told. If I had known there was this uncertainty upfront, I never would have scheduled the consultation or paid a non-refundable fee. As a self-pay patient, I depend on accurate information to make decisions, and the information I received turned out to be incomplete and misleading. I've asked for a refund of the consultation fee, since I don't believe it's fair to charge me for something based on inaccurate details. Office has refused to refund the cost of the consultation even though it was their inaccuracy that lead to the issue in the first place as I would have not set up a consultation as the price was not competitive overall. This has been a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I would strongly caution other patients to make sure they get clear, written cost details before committing to anything with this office.
