She is very attentive, addresses ALL my concerns, and genuinely cares about her patients! My son has a total of 5 specialist he has routine visits with and Dr Ceniza is very involved and informed in regards to each one. She is VERY easy to get ahold of after hours and I've never once had any trouble getting a same day appointment when needed. Office can get a bit busy, but remember there are several different Dr's in this office sharing one set of staff and waiting room. Staff has never been rude, and the nurse line is also very helpful! I NEVER write reviews only read them lol and when I noticed there was not one posted at all I felt the need to RATE! I very recently have moved out of state and finding a pedestrian that will meet all my standards the way Dr. Ceniza has will be extremely hard to do! I wish I could of moved her with me!

But the front desk receptionist/staff could use a class or two on customer service. Every time I call, it feels like I'm an inconvenience for her. I dislike her tone/attitude and just sets the mood for the entire appointment or phone call. Like others mentioned, you can stand there starring and there is no acknowledgement. I understand if you're on the phone, and can't put the phone down to talk to me (common sense). A simple smile or hand gesture to say it will be a minute would suffice and go a long way. Still trying to figure out if it's worth dealing with the front desk staff in order to have a good doctor.

Dr. Rusch is really great. She takes time in the room to listen and give you ideas on how to help…read morethe illness at home with OTC. Huge tips on what to look for and explains what she is giving and why. Doctor gives awesome treatment. I have recommended to many times her but I do let them know some downsides. it does take a while to get to you BUT I have learn it's from the 1:1 time she takes for each patient. She isn't making you wait forever and see's your kid under 5 mins. Your appointment takes a while in the room because she is always willing to answer questions. So if its a while til she gets to your kid just think she is not quick to diagnose. 2 Wednesdays she is rarely open that leads to limited availability. 3 it's hard to get in for sicknesses because she is the only doctor and she doesn't have a NP or PA to help it's just her. However, if you call sometimes there are cancellations. The girls sometimes even call you back like hey I know you called earlier I got a cancellation. I have left messages for doctor that lead to needing to make an appointment but sometimes she is willing to do a telemedicine appointment but those are rare & although they are convenient I love that she doesn't have want to guess. I'm so glad I changed my son to her because it's just been life changing. I know I said downfalls but they are in someways strong points. Ive been to over offices with different pediatricians and she is by far the best in Porterville. I also want to add my son is on the spectrum and she gets in the floor with him to make him feel comfortable and goes at his pace. Explains everything to him. They have developed and trusting relationship not just her but the staff. My son wouldn't event want to go inside or let them do anything to now he lets them die almost anything. Shots not so much but what kid wants shots?!

It hurt him he even was saying it. She injected some liquid on the wart but it was coming out on the side. I asked her if that's what it supposed to happen she had a meltdown and she said yes. She doesn't like to be contradicted because she didn't like it that I questioned her work. I was just making sure because my son was still saying it hurts him after that being injected. I sat in the waiting room at Ridgecrest Hospital for eight hours and never got past triage. Eight…read morehours. No bed, no admission, no real evaluation beyond the initial triage stop. I was told it might be a kidney infection and then left to sit there while the clock ran. Possible kidney infection is not a "wait it out in the lobby" diagnosis. It is the kind of thing that needs timely labs, imaging, and actual medical attention, not a chair and a hope that someone eventually has time. I never made it farther than triage. I was not admitted. I was not treated in any meaningful way. I was given a possible diagnosis and effectively sent on my way after wasting an entire day in their waiting room. If the emergency department cannot move a patient with a suspected kidney infection past the front door in eight hours, it is not functioning as an emergency department. The billing side is just as bad. I have been sending monthly payments, and their accounting department still cannot track the installments. Payments go in, the balance does not reflect them correctly, and getting anyone to reconcile what has already been paid is useless. Long wait, no admission, a shrug of a diagnosis, and an accounting department that cannot add up monthly payments. That is the experience. I would not go back.

She was so young I just thought maybe growing pains? Maybe we needed to buy better shoes? Nowhere in my mind did I think something was really wrong. In the 4th grade we knew we needed to see someone and went to a Pediatrician in Bakersfield. Right away she saw there were multiple joints swollen and that we definitely had to get her to a specialist at Children Hospital Madera. Within a very short time they got us in and we were making the trip up to see Dr. Arce. From the moment we met him we felt at ease. He instantly started talking directly to our daughter, he was gentle, compassionate and really listened to everything she said. He saw pitting in her nails and multiple joints with redness and swelling. He ordered multiple test right away, and quickly she was diagnosed with Psoriatic arthritis and fibromyalgia. I would have never thought my 4th grade daughter would Have RA. This began our 8 year relationship with Dr. Arce. We made trips to Madera every couple months and we never complained. We all loved him and he helped her so much. I will never forget when he had the talk with us about finding a Rheumatologist in Bakersfield. She was going to be 18 and he is a Pediatrician. We all were so sad and I actually cried the last time we saw him. He helped my daughter so much. I know he is working out of a clinic in Reedly now, I think he still might see kids at Childrens. Just recently my daughter said she wanted to write him a letter, she is now 21. She wants to thank him for all he did for her. Unfortunately she never found a Doctor that measured up to Dr. Arce. We did see supposedly see the best in Bakersfield, he is in the room for a minute, you can't get an appointment and he doesn't listen to what you are saying. So Dr. Arce if you read this, you are amazing! We thank you for the incredible care you gave our daughter and we will never forget you.

Don't come here if your child has a disability. I had started bringing my son to him after birth…read moreand everything was fine until my son was diagnosed, by a psychologist, for level 2 autism. I came to Dr shah with the diagnosis and summary printed out so he could keep it in my sons chart and so he could also look over it, I was shocked by how he refused to even take his time to go over it because it wasn't in his scope of practice. He simply handed it back to me after I insisted he keep it for his records. I then brought him social services forms that I needed to be filled out and was told that no other Dr wanted to fill them out and that they kept sending me to him because they wanted to put it all on him. Again I was turned away. When I asked for his medical records he quickly jumped to ask if I was going to take my son to a different provider, which I will definitely be doing. Two days later he called wanting to speak to me about the forms how he spoke to my son's neurologist and that she would fill them out just to be told by the neurologist that she never spoke to him, leaving me at a dead end. He then proceeded to state that if I decided to take my son to a different pediatrician that I wouldn't be seeing the pediatrician and that no one will get him in with 48 hours if my son ever needed to be seen. Yet every time I needed to get him seen or when he would see him instead of prescribing or helping him he sends us to the ER. All to be told by the ER that it's not an ER case but a PCP case. I had my sons caseworker call his office to figure out why he refused to keep the diagnosis and why he didn't want to sign anything all for him to put the MA in the middle and not come to the phone. Honestly I was left with no words he sees that my son needs the help and still does nothing to help him. 0/10 don't recommend if your child has any disability. The front girls have always been so kind and helpful with any questions this review is only for the provider.
