BUYER BEWARE. Yesterday I went to this store looking for furniture paint. I met a woman named Mary…read morewho said she sold the type of paint I was looking for. She was friendly and showed me many options and told me about all the different products. I picked out a large paint, two small waxes, and a topcoat. She rang me up and thanked me. I spent almost $82. Today I held the unopened jar next to my wall and noticed the furniture paint was too similar to my wall paint so I called the store to speak to Mary and let her know I need to exchange the paint for a lighter shade. Maureen answered the phone. She said Mary was not in today. I explained the situation expecting to hear good customer service and instead Maureen told me that they "don't take returns, don't give refunds, and don't do exchanges". She said it's posted on the receipts! So I look at my receipt and sure enough it's posted on my receipt where the only way I'd see it is to first buy something. I of course objected. She said it's posted at the front of the store. I'm appalled that this store does not have a policy in place to ensure everyone who works the registers explains their "no returns/no refunds" policy upfront and before the purchase is made! The paint is $26.95 for a 16 ounce can!! It's still sealed with the plastic wrap around the lid, no attempt has been made to open it and this store and their owner/vender employees wont allow me to exchange the paint for a lighter shade. I'd give this store a zero star if I could, for POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and UNCLEAR UNSTATED & UNREASONABLE RETURN POLICY.

Do not waste your time, especially on FB Marketplace sales. I have spent a month searching high and low for a carrier to bring an item I had my heart set on from his store in Victoria to Queensland. After so many enquires, I had finally set up an arrangement that Peter agreed to. Everything was basically concluded. I asked how he'd like me to pay and I received this reply: "Sorry mate sold this morning l didn't hear anymore from you" This was after he had agreed to the deal with me the previous day. At the very least he could have contacted me, but no, he just reneged without saying a thing in order to make a quick buck before I had the chance to complete my payment (which I was ready to do but he hadn't provided any details). Overall, this is the most disturbing and disappointing outcome of any serious retail engagement I have ever experienced. I never expected such poor behaviour. I must say that due to the complete loss of trust I am now deeply doubtful about the quality of the piece. I may have had a nasty surprise if the sale and delivery had gone through. Spare yourself and your life these unnecessary shenanigans and keep well away. There is a distinct sense of all round dishonesty.

Theres also plenty of hilarious junk, cute trinkets, and functional things. Great place for small businesses to sell, too. The people are always friendly and helpful. I will advise that you bring headphones if you have trouble blocking music out; every room is different and some have loud radios which is irritating at best. Otherwise a fun time.

I have been treated poorly in the past at other places and given the hook eye about my daughter (Dirty South associate for one). My daughter goes often with me and knows "don't touch, just look," or to ask me if she can touch - stuffed animals, toys, etc. I think any place that welcomes a mother exposing her children to experiences is A+! How will we have future pickers and vintage/antique lovers if we don't teach them? Or any aspect for that matter - if they aren't taught to swim they won't love the water. A Browns Crossing lady even offered to help me carry a large croc I purchased when I was visibly pregnant with my second daughter. It's sad to read other reviews about poor customer service, maybe it was just an off day? Too bad. Sweet bunch of people anytime I go... and not just to me because I'm pretty observant and I've watched communication with other customers as well. They also have a great selection and very fair prices in my opinion. Don't forget to check out the back house too!
