Then, I only wanted to focus on getting my out-of-control beard trimmed and shaped, which was possible. Myolo took his time and tamed the bushiness into something more presentable and professional. The atmosphere with sports channels, etc. is not really my cup of tea, but I get that this might be rather popular among most customers. I liked the communication between the barbers as it seemed like they worked as a team. At the same time, I did not feel Myolo's attention was taken away. I was happy with the result, and I didn't feel rushed. Myolo took his time, and I felt I was not just another number. Finally, the check out was pleasant without any attempts for an upsale. I ended up being a beard balm anyway. Well done, everyone @ Founders Barbershop.

Hell, I even did a little test/research project and got my hair did by every single barber in the shop and never received a bad cut, even from the guys when they were just starting out back in the day. Every barber has their own take on their craft and style, but I always left looking like the fly ass fine specimen of a man that I am with a fresh and clean cut! Don't hesitate to drop by and become part of their family, because that's exactly how they will treat you. They will remember exactly what you like/don't like. They will take you from looking like a hobo to a well maintained gentleman in a snap. If you're ugly, they can't fix that, but they will give you a sweet cut that will take people's attention off your face.

This little shop is right by the Fox and Hound, which is how we stumbled across it for the first…read moretime a year ago. As background, a year or so before that, my husband had bought some hair trimming tools just to save a few trips to the quick-haircut type places, which were fine but nothing special. We are in our late twenties, work long hours, always busy, so that just seemed more efficient. But now that he's found this barbershop, he is actually going fir haircuts regularly! About this shop, I should say: it really is old-fashioned, and not just for looks or ironically. The decor is real antiques and the place probably hasn't changed in decades (except to get a credit card machine, thank goodness for us). And it's kind of nice to step back in time, especially at a barber shop! Here, after the haircut they slather the back of the neck in shaving cream and use a real razor to clean it up. Similarly, they do an old fashioned facial shave that my husband raves about. Despite these old fashioned methods, the haircuts here are actually quicker than most places (I know, because I am usually sitting there waiting for him). He has always walked in and gotten a chair right away. I think it's been the same 3 barbers (2 men, 1 woman) the entire last year. He's gotten his hair cut by all three, but he does have a favorite that tells funny stories. Anyway, definitely be prepared for an authentically old-fashioned barber shop, but give it a chance if that type of thing appeals to you. It's worth it!
