Staff & doctor remaining seem good and are nice. However the new location has issues and a lot to be desired. Exceptionally small waiting area & reception, only 12 seats total with half of them blocked if anyone is standing at the reception desk and NO space for someone waiting to speak with reception, and no space for a wheelchair AT ALL. Unhygienic with sick / contagious patients in extremely close proximity to healthy / well-visit patients in the waiting area and I suspect not separated into 'healthy' patient rooms vs 'sick' patient rooms; Very little parking. This environment is not the caliber we've experienced for many years from Southcoast Pediatics and greatly diminishes our perception of their organization. I understand the need to downsize but this location and current office arrangement is a poor solution. Unfortunately, we'll be looking for a different provider if the office environment does not improve.

I arrive with my 5 month old as soon as they open, clearly demonstrating respiratory symptoms and I am refused access to medical care since my son is not a current patient. I scanned the website prior to driving to the facility and nothing on the website stated you had to be a current patient. The unprofessionalism displayed by both receptionists was shocking. I have never been spoken to or dismissed when needing medical care like I experienced this morning at SouthCoast Pediatrics. As a medical professional myself, I am saddened to know places such as this exist.

In 2015 Mr. Ramos misdiagnosed my then 3 year old daughter. I expressed that I believed she had a…read moreUTI, I was told no it was "vaginitis" and sent home with a cream. Symptoms seemed to subside after a week. At the time I was also giving her cranberry juice and d'mannose for urinary track health. Fast forward a week later, as we are driving home from my baby sisters funeral, may daughter begins to vomit in the car. We pull over she has a 104 fever. I call the office and schedule a visit for when we return home (next day). We go to the appointment and AGAIN I'm dismissed when I bring up the UTI and told it is a virus. We see Dr. Ramos's office 3 more times, I call the nurse line as what to do still being pushed as a VIRUS. Well that Friday morning I take her in, her fever is now 107 Dr Ramos FINALLY draws blood and decided to send her to the ER. We get there I tell them I believe she has a UTI and ask them ONCE to check her urine. 10 minus later 4 doctors come in to tell me she has a horrible UTI that has travel to her bladder and kidneys. GO FUGURE. Dr. Ramos NEVER calls or goes to see her as she had a week hospital stay. My husband even lost his job over the hospital stay. Now fast forward to the follow up visit. Dr. Ramos and his wife & two nurses surround me, my children and husband in the exam room. He tells me he doesn't want to see us anymore because I wanted to find a new doctor and that ruined our doctor patient relationship. He even had his daughter reach out to me via Facebook messenger (how professional). He tried to scold me when HE MISDIAGNOSED my daughter and almost killed her. To boot I was sent a bill for the unnecessary week long doctors room visits. Which I paid IN CASH on 3 different occasions and their receptionist never noted in our account. I have called the office multiple times asking the account balance be reflective of the amount paid. They have refused, refuse to return calls and now I have a $400 bill in collections. I also want to add my daughter has LIFE LONG complications now. She suffers from kidney reflux which was induced by the damage done by his negligence. Parents, RUN dont walk out of his office. His is RUDE, condescending and dismisses symptoms for his "natural minded" benefit. I do not want another child to suffer at his hands. I know my daughter isn't the only one as many moms have reached out privately but are too afraid to come public. Well I am not. This is our story, our truth.

I really like Dr. Ramos. My OBGYN had recommended him for my son because they loved him and because…read morehe was the only pediatrician that advocates for delayed vaccinations in Savannah. Dr. Ramos believes, and so do I, that the vaccination schedule that doctors are told to abide by now a days are severe. (But, still believes vaccinations are important.) The only issues I had ever had while having my son be a patient at his practice, was that Ramos could be a tad critical and harsh. He's a very blunt man who will tell you like it is. Which is very much appreciated and would really take the time to answer any and all questions you have. But, sometimes if you don't agree with him or ask a question that he doesn't like, he would make it known. And also, I have always had the privilege of staying home with my son, so when I told Dr. Ramos that I would want my son to have a vaccination during certain visits, he would usually lecture me and say that since he wasn't in daycare that it wasn't that critical that he have shots now...We didn't see eye to eye on this....But, he would always respect my wishes. I also have always loved the staff, nurses, receptionists, lactation specialist, etc. Which is also a huge bonus! He has a lactation specialist that is in his office certain days of the week and she has her own office inside his practice. So, when I was having issues with my newborn being tongue-tied, making an appointment with the lactation specialist REALLY helped. I am no longer in Savannah, but I strongly recommend Dr. Ramos as your child's pediatrician!!!

I chose TAHC because of its proximity to Target. Gotta fit that Target run in where I can! This was my second time at the clinic. It's conveniently located just after the gate (no clue which gate, GPS brought me there). It's larger than most military clinics I have been to and seems relatively new. There is only one way to enter the clinic. There are ropes set up all the way to the entrance to guide you. A soldier is at the entrance and will ask you a few questions and take your temp. I went straight to Radiology and a nurse checked me in right away. Another nurse took me in and was super personable and actually quite funny. She lightened the mood and strange times that we currently live in. The process was short and sweet! In a world where it is said (quite often) "Hurry up and wait", the best part is, my results came back the next day! They had told me a couple of weeks. To the nurses at Radiology (and nurses and healthcare professionals everywhere, really), thank you for all you do! Stay safe, Friends!

Getting an appointment can be a struggle but you tell me what military base is different. I'll wait. It's a small hospital without an urgent care so they are able to see the dependents and retired folks for non urgent issues. Bathrooms are always clean and well taken care of. The hospital and pharmacy area have always been clean as well. If you come early in the morning you will see people handing out coffee which is a nice morning boost. The way the pharmacy works, because they are all different. You walk in and immediately walk straight ahead toward the glass window. Wait in line. When it's your turn you hand the person your ID card (it's usually a one man show taking IDs). The person will then see which number you qualify for and print out a ticket.youll take a seat and when your number is called they will basically register you in the system and see what you're picking up then you'll be asked to take another seat. Your number will then be called again and that's when you get the goods. Pretty straight forward overall.
