I love coming to south side tattoo. The new remodel is so cool, and the place is super inviting. I've been getting piercings here for 5+ years. Mike is so kind and truly knows what's good for you. I usually walk in with a vague idea of what I want, and I always leave incredibly happy with my results!! I've gotten 6 piercings with him. I think the pricing is incredibly well done, and his jewelry is top notch. If you want a specific piercing, come with an open mind. If he says your anatomy isn't right, trust him. I often leave with a different piercing than I wanted, but always so glad I listened to him. I really like this place. I have been coming here for years along with my daughter and my boyfriend. About 3 weeks ago, my daughter's nose ring fell out and she wanted it replaced in addition to removing a couple of intricate piercings. We went in and she was done. This was my second time being pierced here. The first, was 6 years ago getting my navel, which healed beautifully and has continued to never give me an issue. Today I got pierced by Mike who gave me 2 helix and 2 forward helix piercings on one ear. He was very thorough in helping me figure out what I want and extremely patient with me. After the 4 piercings through cartilage, I felt very light headed, nauseas (I had forgotten to eat and tend to get sick when nervousness and pain set in). He instructed me to sit for a while and handed me water and glucose tablets. Very thorough in advising me of what to do and not to do regarding my new piercings. Between my husband and myself we have had numerous tattoos done here. My husband got a finger tattoo 3 weeks ago. Was told that it might fade in time. Well it is practically gone. Called up and was told to come in and speak to who did it. Did that and was told that she will fix it but we have to pay again. Why would we pay twice for a tattoo that doesn't even last a month! Went to go get yet another tattoo by Jodee. She has a way of taking an idea and making it into reality. She's awesome! The shop itself is clean and neat. They have a wide variety of body jewelry with a very honest and friendly piercer. He took the time to explain the different styles of jewelry that I was looking at which was greatly appreciated. I think they suck they messed up my daughters tattoo. The girl that did it obviously needs more training. If you can imagine the tatttoo actually peeled off and there were spots that there was no ink left...there are so many other better places to go.. I suggest do a lot of research before going there. Had my nose pierced here by Mike when I was 15, and went back to him for my septum yesterday; he is very nice and extremely knowledgeable on any and every piercing you could get and even picked out the perfect/exact size ring I was looking for for my septum. He is also very helpful if you have an infection, as I have gone back in to have him look at my hoop when it gets a bubble on the piercing spot or if you want a piercing changed but would rather not do it yourself; he helped my friend put in her navel ring free of charge. He also does not talk down to you even if you have the simplest question; he is genuinely just focused on helping. Any time I need a piercing, or someone tells me they want to get one, I recommend him and South Side. read more

I got two piercings here, and I was very happy with both of them. The man that works there (I don't recall his name, but he has gauges?) pierced my cartilage and my nose. For the cartilage, I got the choice of a hoop, stud, barbell, or curved barbell. I was impressed with the huge selection. There were also tons of nose rings to choose from. The man made sure I understood how to care for the piercing, and also sold me a soap to use on it. Both piercings healed nicely. The man was honest but friendly, and he made sure I was planning to take care of the piercings properly before piercing them. He also makes sure you are happy with the location before piercing it. The piercings were both quick and relatively painless. Everything was incredibly clean- it looked more like a doctor's office than a piercing room. Everything was brand new and sterile. I was very impressed with my experience here, and I plan to go back if I decide to get another piercing or a tattoo. read more

I got my Nose pierced in Nyc and have had nothing but problems. It was infected on and off and I was ready to take it out. I figured I would go somewhere local to see what they say.
