Not only did were they negligent in finding what was wrong with my pregnant wife, when we went back for a followup after their negligence caused my wife to lose our baby they did not read her file and began questioning the health of the now-deceased baby. If you want to be traumatized go to this group and get terrible service from start to finish! Otherwise, find a better OBGYN like we did to find the true answers of what was happening and not just some paper pushers who do not care about your health but instead about the cash they can collect from your insurance. read more

Unfortunately, my initial impression of this office did not stick around for long. After being told I may or may not have some mysterious spots on my uterus, I waited two months to be scheduled for the necessary procedure...Show up at the appointment, legs in the stirups, before the doctor and I get to talking and realize I've been scheduled for the WRONG procedure!!! So, we reschedule, I wait another month, show up for my new appointment, and the pre-procedure ultrasound shows...Nothing. No need for procedure. Now, I for one do believe in miracles - And while this may have been one, It shouldn't have taken three long months to get into a procedure that I was told needed to be done ASAP. Talk about scary. And then to receive a bill two months later for the procedure that was never done. Ugh...What a headache... This place really needs to figure out a new system of organization, because there really seems to be a huge lack of communication between the doctors, nurses, and receptionists. Dr. Keough is awesome! Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the office/administrative staff. Not only are they consistently rude, they are extremely disorganized. My last several appointments have been canceled on me, despite me booking the time slot well in advance. When I schedule personal appointments, I need to then clear that time off from work too. So, it's very inconvenient to have to constantly re-arrange my previously scheduled appointments with both the office staff and then again with work. Who wants to keep doing the same thing twice every time you schedule a visit?! I feel like it's pointless even calling here and scheduling an appointment because I know they will just call a week before to cancel/reschedule. The staff is never nice about it either. They have an excuse every time and then give me sass if I don't call them right back. Then, if I show up 10/15 minutes late (which I try not to let happen too often, but sometimes traffic is unpredictable), they try to cancel my appointment. However, if I'm left sitting around for an hour in the waiting room that's OK? I'm just fed up with the one-way relationship style of this office. I found a doctor closer to my work and so far my interactions with their office have been leaps and bounds better. It's disappointing because I've been a patient at South Shore OB/GYN for about 10 years. The entire staff could benefit from taking a customer service seminar or something. I called today to ensure they had copied my medical records and delivered them to my new doctor's office. They told me they never got my medical release form, which I faxed last week. I asked if they could at least start copying the information while I sent a new release and was told "Honestly, probably not today". I then asked if I could have the records by Monday or Tuesday of the following week and was told that I could possibly get them on Tuesday. At this point I was starting to get annoyed, I know its right before a holiday weekend, but how long does it take to copy one person's records? I then said, "Well, I need them for an upcoming appointment. So, your office is going to have to do what they need to do to get them to me." The staff member I was on the phone with then replied "We legally have 7 days to get the records copied for you". Really?! Do you think I care how long you legally have? I was a customer of yours, and I expect timely access to my records when I ask for them. I'm so done getting the run around at this office. Like I mentioned at the beginning, the doctor's I've met with are excellent but the rest of the office staff needs a complete overhaul. I only went to this office because no other office could get me in sooner and I was going to run out of birth control pills. I've been going to clinics and planned parenthood for the past few years but after moving decided to use my health insurance. I should of stuck with the clinics, this place has been nothing but frustration long after my appointment. To start, when I went in for my appointment, the dr I saw, Amy Baron, along with all the usual questions asked me at least five times, "So... is there anything I should know?" which I found totally unnecessary. Yea, I get it, go through all the questions, but the way she asked it and the amount of times she asked it made it sound like she was expecting to find a pregnancy or STD or something like that. Even after telling her that no, and that I am in a wonderful monogamous relationship and am just coming to get another refill of my birth control pills she still kept asking it. Very distasteful and it felt like she was judging me. You, know, not every 20 something acts like the Jersey Shore. But I made it through the appointment, left with a new prescription and figure all is fine. Well, first comes the phone call that my pap smear may or may not be irregular, it's not clear, not to be nervous, but that I'd need to come back in six months for a retest. Unbelievable!! Never had this issue before at clinics that service a much high volume than this practice. I already had my mind made up about this place, but then a few weeks later I receive a bill of a couple hundred dollars. For what? Well, I was tested for a slew of STDs including gonorrhea and HPV.. tests I did not ask for or need considering my circumstances. This dr and the office broke my trust and did something I did not even ask for, and sent a bill to inflate their revenue. Well, now I have begun receiving reminder phone calls that it's time for my follow up. They have gone so far as to leave a message where the woman paused before saying the dr's name then said another dr from same practice trying to fool me into calling back. Wow, so they think I'm sexually deviant and stupid. Even if there is no concrete proof of this practice being shady as it's all hear say, now I have a voicemail in which the woman is blatantly lying! Stay far away from this office I would not trust them with even the most routine of tasks or doing what they say they'll do. read more

I cannot say enough about South Shore OBGYN. The entire staff is outstanding -- from medical assistants to nurses and doctors. Even the ultra sound techs are amazing. They go above and beyond for their patients. I am currently pregnant with my third child ( I am a bit of a hypochondriac with this one ) and they take every one of my phone calls with patience and professionalism. I am so glad to have found an office that I feel comfortable and well taken care of in! read more

I'm new to the area and I was having issues - so I found them and they had good reviews so I called to make an appointment. They gave me an appointment a month out, which was fine at the time b/c my issues weren't too bad. My problems kept getting worse and worse and I started to get concerned since my aunt died of uterine cancer at the age of 39 so I called about 2 weeks before my appointment to see if they had any cancellations and could see me earlier. I explained the situation to the receptionist, that I was in pain, and why I was concerned because of my aunt. The receptionist was extremely rude. She actually said "Well it's not like you're in so much pain that you have to go to the hospital, and we don't have anything sooner anyways." I looked online and found Crown Obgyn. I called and explained the situation to them. The receptionist was extremely nice, understanding, reassuring, and caring. There wasn't any open appointments for a week, which I would have taken since it was sooner than South Shore and since they were so rude to me. However, because of my situation she put me on hold for literally a second and found a time to squeeze me in in just 3 days. When I went, everyone was so nice, and it turns out there was an issue that could have been very serious if I hadn't caught it in time. read more

Dr. Keough is the epitome of what a doctor is supposed to be. How many times do I need to delete sentences from this review I am trying to "perfect," with tears streaming down my cheeks (and I am not soft and weak), because I am trying to best articulate how appreciative I am of Dr. Keough and his staff? Do you know the classic movie, "Cool Hand Luke," when Luke (Paul Newman) says, "Sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand." Well, I got nothin'. I cannot give Dr. Keough or his staff anything aside from my appreciation for how well they took care of my wife and baby. This website gives me the opportunity to say, "Thank you," to them and encourage others to give them a look. I don't even like these reviews because I think many reviews/Twitter posts/Facebook "friends"/social media/etc. are padded or simply false conviviality. Or a way for someone to slander another. But, I know human nature and I'd wager there will be at least one or two people who read my comments and think, "I get what that guy was trying to say. Honey, let's give South Shore/Hanover OBGYN an interview." Lastly, I got nothin' but my word. And I'd rather die than compromise my word. read more
