Hi Neighbors About…read more8 months ago I had a new privacy fence installed. Recently I had some problems with the gate not closing properly. Apparently the gate had shifted since being installed. I contacted Iron City Fence and spoke with the owner Robert. He came by assessed the gate and said he didn't have the tools available to fix it but would send someone back the next day. True to his word, his crew came out the next day and fixed it with no charge. Not many companies would fix a fence after 8 months. If you need a new fence you might want to try them. Had to get my son to add additional drop bolt bc of the uneven mess this terrible company made of…read moremy double gate ( they were supposed to rebuild ) my dogs got out bc it come open w the drop bolt in the ground and the fence " locked " it was so uneven by now it just opened itself during the night ! When my son tried to straighten this gate out w enough to add a slide lock at the top and additional drop rod on the other gate ( this is the double gate this company left a 3" gap in ) after he fixed it to so my stay CLOSED - one of the boards ( sloppily done s a nail gun ) came loose on ons side abs it's flipped upward ! I think it's comical that Home Depot actually sent this company to me for an estimate 3 years ago ! I hope to god they're still not recommend them the guy that comes out to price IS NOT THE GUY THAT DOES THE WORK they send a foreman w a team of Mexican laborers. . The owner or whoever gave me the outrageous price never even co reacted me or looked at this fence . Not only that the guys messed up at the corner and one side was 6" taller than the other ( I have a corner lot) when I said it wasn't gonna work it had to be the same height ( DUH) I had to figure out how to gradually meet the side fence bc they had already moved the posts ( from my old ones ) so had to remove top boards and make those 4" pieces at top that are breaking ! If you look at my reviews you'll see I rarely write a bad review . This company was SO bad I should have honestly sued them . Please get an other company or stay out there with them and refuse to pay until it's over . I still have the " Olympic Fence " sigh in full view so my Crestline neighbors can see what a 7500 fence looks like from them . ( the top boards they cut down are broken in two places now too) looks so shabby . I had this entire fence done at what I expected to be a top of the lime farmhouse fence in 2020 . Instead in 2 years I was already pricing getting a new fence to replace this half assed attempt !it's sad to think I let them leave this like this . I thought bc Home Depot referred them they did good work . Not true . I suspect they saw me coming bc I'm over 50 and live alone . I have talked to some neighbors this year that got a 8' fence ( mine was SUPPOSED to be 6' ) and paid half what I did w a phenomenal job! If you're a female living alone be sure and get 2 other estimates before hiring . I let myself be bullied and lied to ( when the for men guy came by to tell me " yeah that will be rebuilt " then nothing ) I learned lots from this - my Dad used to say if someone is happy they will tell 2-3 ppl but if they're unhappy they'll tell 30 or more ! It costs a company in the end to do shoddy work when we can use Yelp to warn others . If they'd come back and fixed my fence , I'd have written a great review - but leaving that sign on this fence says it all .

Which reminds me that I need to write another review. But since the fence and deck it damaged were mine, I immediately called my insurance agent. Fast forward to having a recommended deck and fence person that was recommended come out, give a quote, and then ghost, then you have me using the handy dandy Request A Quote feature on Yelp. Fencing Unlimited was the only one to respond and Alex was very quick in all responses. He came out and gave me a quote the very next week on that and another small project I had. He was up front and said it might be a few weeks before he could do it since he had a few other major projects going at the same time. I appreciated his honesty and was happy to wait. The only issue I had is that he went radio silent for more than a few weeks. But like I said, he was busy and I get that. So after a quick phone call, he said he would have people out the very next week. Which he did. They did amazing work. They even went above and beyond and fix some of our loose spindles even though I didn't ask. When he came to check on the work (which a recent contractor never did), he apologized for the delay. I was very pleased with the work they did and all my interactions with Alex. Note that they do far more than decks and fences and if I do any other house renovations, I will definitely give them a call.

After interacting with the gentlemen working on the project over a 3-day timeframe, I'd highly recommend them to anyone else looking to have the same done for their own property. The guys (including the actual owner of the company himself, Jarrod Daniel) were all extremely professional, knowledgeable, polite, and personable; so much so that, as an example, Jarrod wouldn't even walk into the cool house after HOURS of working in the hot sun, w/out being offered multiple times. (That's not something you see often these days...) To continue, Jarrod was completely transparent with regards to their plans for completing the job, operating times, etc. from start to finish (as they were working on multiple jobs at once). They worked diligently, quickly and thoroughly, and we couldn't be more happy with the end result. Since the install, we've had a couple of pretty windy thunderstorms and the fence has shown no signs at this point that it will have any problems handling the "down-home" country weather (lol). Bottom line, if you're looking for a professional group of guys to do a professional installation of a fence professional in appearance, I think Cahaba Fence Company would be a pretty smart investment.
