Powderhorn is the perfect place to stay for a weekend to enjoy the world famous fishing or to stay a few months on a longer contract job. The community it's in is quite and friendly. Another bonus is that Mike the owner is always available with a hand shake and a smile. Couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in the Port LaVaca area now.

I told them I need an oil change and also asked about washer fluid and wiper blades. The guy taking care of my car assured me they do everything under the hood and that they would look at my wipers to see if they have the right one in stock for me. Before I knew it, they were draining my old oil, washing my windshield, and changing an air filter under the hood. They also filled up my tires! I think a total of three different people working there told me my back wiper was shot and that it needed to be replaced and they would see if they had it in stock for me. All of them told me that if they don't have it in stock, I could go to another shop to get it and bring it back and they would be happy change it out for me. The 10 Commandments were prominently displayed and many workers were wearing military hats. I was really impressed but started getting concerned this was going to be a really expensive visit. I gave my card and when I got the receipt back, it was only about $102. Highly recommend Dipstix for all basic maintenance.

The hammer he brought at one point concerned me but I this point his honesty outweighs any concern I have. 30 minutes later I am launching my boat and fishing the tourney. My trailer was not good and I needed to leave for Florida the next day. Charlie found a trailer to sell me which he did for a fair price. Although the trailer needed a little work, he took the time to personally repair the trailer before I had to leave. Keep in mind, his baby had just been born the next morning! And even though his father duties were heavy, he took the time to assure I was good to go. I highly recommend this man and his company, he went beyond the call of duty to take care of us!
