It's located in a very walkable area of Quebec City that's surrounded by countless specialty shops and cafes, and I wish I had more time (and more money) to spend in this awesome shop! It's crowded inside. It's very crowded. The store isn't really all that large, but they manage to put three store's worth of merchandise in one small location. Wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling, it's all merchandise. The merchandise is crazy and awesome. There are vinyl records, games, comics, vintage signs and post cards, ages-old memorabilia, and more stuff than I could adequately remember to include. It was, of course, the vinyl record display outside the store that caught my attention. The staff was awesome and spoke both French and English. (I applaud the fact that so many people spoke both, when Americans (myself included, but I do know a fair amount of Spanish) tend to master only one language). Magasin Général P.L. Blouin is an amazing, charming, memorabilia filled shop that I wish wasn't so far away.

Kind of disorganized but I liked the low key environment. The manager was very pleasant and accommodative and went downstairs to bring up more of a hat that I was trying on so that I can compare more on fit and feel. In both cases Roots rose to the forefront of the merchandising campaigns, no matter who was the official sponsor. Roots remains a very intriguing store. In Quebec City the old storefront used to be in the Chateau Frontenac right on the boardwalk...now it has moved to this new location. Roots still has a number of interesting designs, and is a brand known throughout Canada and the United States. You'll like their designs, especially if you are partial to their Canadian Beaver. Selection here was more than adequate however they had no sale rack for me to peruse. I refuse to pay hyper-inflated prices for sweat pants or sweatshirts. No matter how cool and comfortable they may be! No matter how much nostalgia it may bring of my childhood and the coolness of the brand. Interior design in cosy and warm. A great place for a souvenir shirt of Canada or try to find something Quebec emblazoned. I will pass and come back.

They do have a sale section. They have clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry and hats. Mostly women's clothing, but some pieces for men as well. I would definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you are a tourist to check out the local talent. Lots of asymmetric styles which is right up my fashion alley!
