There's always something that happens either in our personal lives that impacts our day-to-day living and in a complex this large - the Leasing Office, Management and Maintenance Personnel recognize that. In my recent situation, the Leasing Office urgently needed some insurance information and three (3) people at my work place decided to quit - on the same day. That meant I was juggling a lot of extra email accounts and phones. In the end - the Leasing Office/Management Team worked directly with my insurance company to get what was needed - which was appreciated. Most importantly, the Team in the Leasing Office called me back, confirming that everything was resolved - which was also appreciated - as I really didn't need "one more thing" to worry about given the situation. Since moving here, everyone I've worked with at Merrill Creek - Leasing and Maintenance - have been courteous, honest, kind and professional. Life can get a little crazy sometimes; having consistency and stability when it comes to dealing with your 'home' , the place where you 'live', is important... this group has provided that for me.

I've lived in multiple apartment complexes around the Seattle Metro (Bellevue, Issaquah, Sammamish,…read moreand now Lynnwood) and I can easily say that Newberry Square overall is one of the nicest complexes I've lived in so far. The office staff and maintenance staff deserve the rave reviews that they get here on yelp! Parking has been hassle free compared to other complexes out there (And it's free!) My roommate and I are hoping to make Newberry our home for the foreseeable future (assuming rent increases don't happen or don't push us out). The only naggling things that I have about this complex are as follows: 1.) Package delivery can be a pain in the neck, the apartment has a parcel locker system, but some delivery personnel don't pay attention to it, or maybe don't have access to it (Typically same-day Amazon Flex/gig workers don't see it or can't access) 2.) Gig deliveries (Uber Eats, Doordash, Instacart, etc.) seem to struggle with the access boxes (though to me they're pretty simple to operate) so I just wind up meeting them outside instead of expecting them to come in to my floor 3.) The gym doesn't have as squat rack or barbells (I'd love to get back into weightlifting again, this piece of equipment is super rare for on-prem gyms at the apartments I've lived in though) 4.) There's no EV charging in the garage, I'd LOVE to have some of the empty "Reserved" spaces retrofitted with EV Charging! My last apartment complex had this and I miss it terribly (having to go and charge on Public chargers works, but it's a hassle), I'd even be willing to pay for charging privileges at my complex if that was a barrier toward getting it done. 5.) Worried about future rent costs. This complex is fairly pricy (But this seems to be the norm in Lynnwood now), I'm hoping that when we're up for renewal our rent doesn't increase, or if it does it only does so minimally. Rated 4 stars, would be 5 if we had EV charging, the other "complaints" are just common apartment living ones. Definitely hoping we can stay here! We love it!

I declined to pay the whole month rent and offered to pay check and Mary said they can't accept and refused to help me saying there's nothing she can do. I should just pay the whole rent online. I did not trust them to give my money back. They made us join a damage waiver program with not being able to opt out of it. Still charge us for the coffee stains on the carpet that could come off with a good carpet clean that would should be doing anyway. I was actually told by the maintenance that they might replace the carpet with wood flooring . Then why charge for stains and cleaning? It's a rip off. I wouldn't trust them to just add all kinds of payments and then refuse the help when you ask saying they can't do anything. I've been emailing to get wrongful charges and no one responds now. When they need money they will harass you. There are better communities for better pricing and better amenities.

I love how close this building is to practically everything you might need on a daily basis. Among the services around are: Alderwood Mall, grocery stores, restaurants, gas stations, and schools, all within walking distance, as well as multiple accesses to the I-5 and I-405 freeways. The majority don't require you to run your car to get there. Additionally, since each apartment has a designated parking space, there are no parking issues. The management team is really friendly and helpful, especially Kim, who is the actual responsible person. She is an incredibly helpful and kind person. Every time we have a problem, she always responds quickly and follows up to make sure the problem has been resolved. Elvin and Jack, the maintenance crew, are experts who are always happy to assist. Yes, sometimes it can take a little while for them to solve your issue, but that is something understandable because currently there are only two of them working out across multiple residences, and sometimes they run out of supplies and have to ask for your parts or something else. However, once they have what they need, they complete the task neatly and competently. The fact that most apartments--at least the one I live in--don't have built-in laundry units is one of the two reasons I gave it a 4.5-star rating. We must therefore use the laundry facility outside of our unit. The apartments have three or four laundry rooms, but the most challenging thing about them is that, on some occasions, someone would occupy the washing machines by leaving their clothes inside after they had finished (this happens mostly on weekends). The owners of these apartment buildings don't believe in technology, which is another issue we didn't like. As a result, they don't have a website where residents can pay their rent, request maintenance, sign up for forms, or even follow up on community news or updates. You are still required to pay your rent by money order or personal check; if you have any questions, contact the office by phone or email. Overall, the apartment's location, quietness, cleanliness, and helpful and friendly office personnel make it a great choice.

I developed very bad allergies while living there for a couple years! Endless dust and allergens. I think there may be mold under the carpet. All appliances are very old. 1980's old! Bees somehow nested in the air vent and every time I used the restroom I had bees in my bathroom. It took at least a month to clear them out. The vent wound up falling from the ceiling and was replaced by an open vent! Luckily through me killing the bees myself and them fumigating the vent it went away! When your lease is up they charge you an extra $600 to $1000 on top of your rent to go month to month which should be illegal! Price gouging at it's worst and they will tell you that they do it to make you sign another lease and discourage month to month because you can just leave at anytime! Terrible business practice that should be ILLEGAL! The neighbors do not pick up the dog fecal matter at all! I had to neighbors with a combined 4 dogs and they never picked up the shit! Not at all! Doo doo bombs galore in the grass! Do not move there unless you are just starting off...No what? Do not move there period! Almost 2700 per month including parking for horrible conditions! No bang for you buck at all! This place is a hazard and if I have mold poisoning or skin irritations because of mold that they did not take care of I will sue! AGAIN AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They get to know you and are ready and willing to help in every situation. The maintenance team is just as great they have always fixed any issue we have had either same day or at most the following work day. The apartment itself is your typical apartment basic appliances, full-size washer dryer. Cabinets are a bit out dated but all functioning. The decks are very spacious and our apartment in particular had a fantastic view of the lake. The rooms are not huge but they fit a queen in the spair room and king in master. I loved having the gas fireplace it helped keeping our power bill down. The cons: The on site parking can get tight and you only are allowed one assigned parking spot. However the office is very good at working with you for specific situations. The gym at the club house is well less than satisfactory. Very little and not much for equipment. Overall if those are the only cons I'd say it's a great place to live. Great location and very friendly neighborhood.

Richard has a really great maintenance guy named Jesse. He is awesome too!!!! Example yesterday (Sunday) our fridge stopped cooling and we called to get assistance. Within 3 min Jesse was knocking on our door (crazy fast)!!!!!!! He knew immediately that our fridge was just doing a defrosting cycle. I know living in an apartment is not everyone's dream LOL Paying rent stinks but if you have to rent I would recommend this location because the staff is top notch!! Nataliya Gerasimchuk, our property manager, is a wonderful person to deal with. Her smile and good cheer is infectious and she genuinely cares about her tenants. Anytime we have an issue Nataliya handles it promptly, professionally, and without rancor. I cannot recommend her more or extol her virtues to a greater degree. Simply put, Nataliya is amazing. Constantine, our maintenance guy, is an absolute joy to be around. He always takes care of our concerns of which there has been only 2 during our entire year: (1) our heater stopped working and Constantine was there in about an hour and the repair was complete within another hour and (2) we thought our fireplace was blocked and Constantine came out promptly, cleaned it, and proved to us that it was working like before. I love seeing him in the morning on my way to work when he's out sweeping the parking lot. We always smile and wave at each other and that little moment ensures that my day has a positive start. These are the people that make Beacon at Center the place I love calling home. If you have any hesitation, don't. This is the place for you.
