I love this little place. I have been to Berchtesgaden many times over the last 12 years. Its got small a homey feeling and I always stop in for a pint of beer ... or three. Just a small place with nice outdoor seating. Decor is a bit girly, but the welcoming nature has me coming back again and again. The blond sisters who own this place are very friendly and its been fun coming here every year or two since my single mid-20s to now my married mid-30s and watching the place grow its own place in this wonderful town and bringing my wife here. People there always make me feel at home. Last time, I walked in in the middle of a Bachelorette party. My wife was tired from our hike and went to bed early, so I went this night to the Sound Cafe by myself. Anyway, I sat at the bar with the few men/male bartenders and the guys made me feel like I was one of them as we watched the bachelorette party have fun. I usually like dirty local dive pubs, but there is just something great about this place - whether drinking a tall Hefeweisen on the outdoor patio on a nice warm night or downing a few pints with locals at the bar. Also, there are a few pubs in Berchtesgaden that attract a very young crowd, which is fine, but Sound Cafe attracts everyone from late teens on up. Again, the blond owners are really nice people. Only downsides - sometimes its a little smoky and sometimes the music is too loud to talk. Anyway, I plan to come back to Berchetsgaden many times and will always stop here when I do. read more
