This is a nice option for a meal in Avila center. A great location, tasteful tapas and pleasant environment. Seating is both inside and outside. The place is frequented in the peak hours and fills quickly during those. Outside peak hours, the menu is very limited, though, but that is often the case in other places. People working in the place seem to like doing what they do although they seem somewhat detached from the international visitors. read more

Great food, great place and very friendly atmosphere. It's a restaurant with a very trendy and alternative style but accommodating all kind of people: from tourists to young families to locals - everybody's here. One of the best places I ate in Avila. Since I was here for 4 days and eating out for every meal, I ate here at least once per day. I tried a lot of other places too, but this is only one of 2 places that I have returned to. It has great atmosphere, music, and food. Definitely the hipster place in town, and a great option if, like me, you've been traveling Spain for a while and find yourself a bit tired of jamón. read more

We were struggling to find good vegetarian food in Avila and this place was amazing. Almost everything on the menu is meatless or can be made that way. The owner was there and super friendly, she gave us a great run down of the menu. read more

We enjoyed the fixed menu lunch, which featured a shrimp salad and cod with concentrated apple sauce & a cherry tomato. Both first and second courses were delicious. They handled our gluten-free needs, and sorted it out despite our simple Spanish (and use of a preprinted card). A little hard to find, but worth the effort! read more

Looking for a late dinner on a cold night. Found Soul Kitchen on Yelp & thought we'd give it a try. It's easy to find - right off the main square. Cozy bar downstairs - larger room with plenty of tables upstairs. Had wine, beer, & tapas - hummus, vegetables in a jar, & nachos with guacamole, cheese, & meat. Lots of other good stuff on the menu. Had lunch where while in Avila for a multi-day visit. The location is very nice, just of the Mercado Chico. The folks in the restaurant were fantastic, even remembering that one of the folks with us had visited here once before. They were super helpful with the menu. The potatoes with cheese were delicious. The potatoes were crisp even with the cheese. I had a burger which was served with a delightful Spanish flair and flavor. Even though we arrived fairly early, actually a bit before the lunch time in Avila starts, the still served us. There was also live music and many folks sang along! It was a threat time! read more
