Absolutely adored this place and would recommend to anyone! We had prosciutto for starter, and I had the vongole as main. Both dishes were mouth watering and in fact, I believe the vongole was the best I've ever had. The menu had many good options, and my boyfriend's pasta with prawns looked great too. You simply can't go wrong with anything. The service was impeccable. Our server was prompt and foresaw any need we might have even before we asked. They served house appetisers for free as well, which I appreciated as a nice gesture. Everyone was very genuine and yet, sophisticated. Ambience was top-notch. Whilst the price range was reasonable, everything felt as if from a five star hotel. Perfect place for an Italian meal in Berlin. I would love to return a few more times before we leave! read more

So this is my third time here at Sorisso based on its close proximity to Pullman hotel that I frequently stay. What I found is that the quality is not consistent. Tonight, I had the truffle pasta. Pasta was over cooked - not al dente. The steak medium rare tasted average. So overall experience out of three attempts gives three or three and a half star. read more

This is a traditional Italian restaurant located near KaDeWe (less than 10 minutes by foot). I also seem to eat here at least once a year even though there are probably more interesting (trendier?) Italian restaurants in Berlin. However, the food is consistently good and the wine list as well as the service is better than average. The carpaccio does not disappoint and the 'Monatskarte' (monthly specials) are worth trying. My last visit I enjoyed an amazing shrimp tagliatelle with ginger. A fantastic culinary experience very close to Hotel Berlin, Berlin. While a little pricey for two, well worth it - the beef carpaccio was tender & just thick enough to make that perfect bunched roll with a piece of the generously layered fresh cheese & drizzled sauce. Both the pheasant ravioli (me) and the salmon ravioli (her) were fab enough to encourage spontaneous sharing. Dessert finished off with a perfectly vended cappuccino & Baci chocolate confection with powdered rice. Hers, the tiramisu, well passed the "Is This An Italian Restaurant As Judged By The Tiramisu?" Larger parties seen here along with intimate couples chatting the night away, the venue seems to accommodate both well. No surprise, a chat with the wait staff turned up its been open since... 1968 (unverified). read more

This is actually a real nice place, situated in the Tiergarten neighborhood somewhat, that hints towards some degree of upscale but not entirely. The wine list is extensive, and a very full Italian menu. Table cloth tables, and some very nice setting that is quiet and intimate. The food here is actually quite good. Delicate fish, great home made pasta, and some classic Italian food is ready for the taking here. The pasta with pistachio and shrimp is quite delicate and really well done, with it's subtle and aromatic flavors. Service though here is curt and flat out obnoxious and rushed. While my father was making up his mind of what to order for his main after giving his appetizer order to the waiter, the waiter immediately turns to me and asks me what I want. Um hello he's no finished yet... (the hell?).. seriously? you cant wait until he's done? Then while my mother is looking through the wine list and orders, my wife is thinking of ordering a different glass and wants to see the wine list. Before she can say anything to ask for a recommendation, the guy YANKS the book out of my mother's hand and WALKS away... really???... Flat out friggin rude as hell. It's really too bad because the food is very good here, but the service is just awful. You can fawn over moving peoples chairs, and hanging and putting up their coats, but that just goes only so far. Learn how to serve and treat people at the table and deliver the food correctly, is what gets me impressed. Too bad cause the food is nice, and was brought to our table at a fairly decent time (for European standards), but the service is less than desired and I would not recommend the place or return if offered. read more

On a rainy day in Berlin, my family and I came across this charming restaurant. They had an extensive menu of delicious Italian dishes, and while the ambience was charming, I had my doubts as to whether they could deliver on a variety of dishes that the five of us chose. However, the Sorriso chef came through. We were all highly pleased with our meals, which range from osso bucco to fish to the pasta of the day. This restaurant is off the beaten path, but that will only add to its charm when you encounter it. I would definitely return the next time I am in Berlin. read more

We ate here last week and I'm sorry to say it was a forgettable meal. The home made pasta was not al dente, the fish was over cooked and the truffle dish had way too little truffle, barely discernable. We waited 45 minutes between appetizers and main course even though the place was empty when we arrived. Plus, it is quite expensive so all in all, not worthy of a recommendation. read more

An Italian restaurant in Berlin with excellent personal service, nice intimate athmosphere and superb food. No pizzas here. Not much more to say, really. I have come here 10 years in a row or so, and they haven't let me down so far. They have also a very good selection of wines and the knowledge to recommend them. Though it looks like just a typical corner Italian restaurant from the outside, this is a surprisingly accomplished and enjoyable place. With more waiters per capita than the norm (and all Italian or Italian/-speaking), service is professional, attentive and caring. The menu is creative, with dishes like tuna fish meatball pasta, ravioli with potato, red peppers and mint, etc. One of their specialities are various carpaccios, and while I didn't order it, three at the table selected the carpaccio trio and devoured it. There is a large, fully enclosed smoking room at the front. So, don't be put off by the typical signage and appearance from the exterior (and the location amidst the tourist hotels on Kurfuerstenstrasse)...you may be pleasantly surprised. read more
