Cute little store with plenty of souvenirs. There's something for everyone and the prices are better than most stores in the area.

Even though it's one of Naples' most iconic landmarks, it still feels very much local with many gathering here and chatting late into the evening. There's a mix of high-end and moderately priced shops here. Since we visited later in the day, most of the stores had already closed for the night. Luckily, Mary's Sfogliatella was still open, and we made sure not to miss it. We ordered a few warm, flaky sfogliatella and enjoyed them later in our hotel room. Having visited Milan's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II years ago, it's hard not to compare the two. Naples' version isn't quite as grand, but it has its own unique personality. It feels more lived-in, with a little more grit and character, which makes it fit Naples perfectly. I wouldn't go out of my way just to see it, but if you're already in the area, it's definitely worth a quick visit. Spend a few minutes looking up at the incredible dome, admire the details in the flooring, and if Mary's is still open, do yourself a favor and grab a sfogliatella.
