Best of all the cachaca tasting, the whole process of manufacturing and we were surprise of the smooth flavor, aroma and texture straight up without mixing with any fruit juices, we left with lots of bottles for us to bring back to Los Angeles. We spent the whole day at the park, lunch at their tree top restaurant, it was a gem hidden in Betim

Great day out in the ecological park of the Vale Verde cachaça distillery. It's fun for the whole…read morefamily here with a restaurant, farm animals, a playground, many different papagaios and other cool birds, short hikes and a few adrenaline activities. We've been here a few times and enjoyed the tirolesa (zip line), the climbing wall, the boats on the lake and the labyrinth. There's also arvorismo (looked relatively tame), pony & horse cart rides, pula-pulas, and ball walk on the lake. You pay R20 for entry (kids half price, under 6 free) but then also have to pay for all activities (most are R12). The lanchonete is ok; the restaurant charges R44 for buffet lunch, which seems a bit steep. You can of course bring your own drinks and snacks -don't know if it's officially allowed but there's no bag check. In the end, this is a great place to relax on weekends and you can buy cachaça at prices that are a bit better than retail.

Pretty good modern craft beer pub and restaurant. Beers on tap are great; but when we were there…read moreseveral of their house beers were unavailable. Crowd is mostly young 20s and 30s. Food is creative and original and tasty. We had some massive ribs, and alcatra with canastra (our "ao ponto" request didn't lead to a medium rare). There can be a pretty long wait to get in on busier days of the week. It's not cheap.

First off I started with a flight called "nice to meet you", a lineup of their lighter beers, the witte, hop corn (which they are out of and substituted the verano - a pale ale), citra - a session IPA, and niobium- a double IPA. I'm not a fan of IPAs, but the witte was really smooth. I had the quintessential MG plate of toasted pão de queijo bruschetta with carne seca, a light creamy cheese and a touch of lemon zest. It was delicious and quite filling. The burger collaboration with duke n' duke was one of the BEST burgers I've had (and we've tasted so many Brazilian burgers, move aside Madero, here's the new champion!) Even if you are not usually a burger fan, this delicious speciality burger on its rustic bread bum, topped with special sauce, bacon and caramelized onions is absolutely scrumptious! Another not-to-miss item is the collaboration of Wäls and Goose Island, for an amazing Alambique County black tripel, a spinoff of Goose's bourbon county (one of my favorite beers). This one is a little lighter in color, if you're afraid of dark beers but full of flavor. We even bought the crystal glass it gets served in. If you are a fan of Wäls petroleum and want to try something different, this is the beer for you. Although the prices are a little expensive here, it's definitely worth every reais. Very impressed with this place, great ambiance, friendly staff, beautiful space and exceptional food and beer.
