Tried to pay right then but "Amanda (and her husband) both said no, no pay when you pick it up"... so off I go. I get a call in like two days that the pants are ready... $72. I'm like what happened to the $30 I was quoted? I got an immediate attitude and when I went over there they play the amnesia game. "We have never done pants for less than $12". Well, that may be the case, but you certainly told me it was $5 each. Even if you meant each leg, it was still not what you quoted. They did decent work but the job doubled in price- buyer beware. My fault for not having her write it down at the time she quoted it. Buyer beware- avoid unless necessary.

When I went to retrieve…read moreit, it was laying on the table in a heap and another seamstress just sitting there beside it playing on her phone. Seriously? She knew I was coming in to pick it up at this specific time, but I figured as long as she could steam out the wrinkles I wouldn't make an issue of it. I noticed that the hem wasn't even but the skirt part of the dress was pleated and I had shoes that would likely make it not look so uneven so I didn't mention it. When I tried it on, it was too tight on the top and not well altered in the bust, the dress had ripples in the bust area that were not there when I dropped it off. The seamstress kept saying "we didn't do anything to that part of the dress" over and over. Ok, but she did alter the shoulders and waist parts which will affect how the bust lays. That's just plain common sense, I'm not a seamstress but what she was claiming made no sense at all. I wasn't in a mood to argue with her and didn't trust her to actually fix the problem she created because she kept denying it was an actual problem, so I just left. $70 later, which I find a ridiculous price for what she did, and I have to take it somewhere else to fix her mistakes. She seemed curmudgeonly and acted like she didn't really care, even when I dropped the dress off. She was more interested in her tv playing the 700 club, and boasting about a cruise she will be taking in a few weeks. She's an older lady, maybe it's time for her to retire.I'm so upset, as if I didn't have enough stress because of the upcoming wedding in 3 days, now I have to add this back on my to-do list. I don't recommend this shop, and certainly won't be taking any more clothing to be altered.

She rudely stated that there's nothing they can do about and do I want my cleaning refund or not. If you have no issues, it's a great place. I went to pick it up on Saturday morning as scheduled. When I looked at the suit, I noticed the jacket had a crease pressed into the lapel, and as you will see in the pictures, there were other areas that look like they had just been missed in the pressing. I spoke with Julie who with her husband Andy are the owners. My family was scheduled to go out of town on Monday. Julie recognized that the jacket needed to be repressed and said that her husband Andy must not have inspected it when it was pressed. Julie said that they could get it re-pressed and either delivered to me by noon on Monday or I could pick it up from the store Monday morning by noon. She said that they would make it right. I felt that Julie was trying to do the right thing and mistakes happen. about an hour later, I got a call from Andy, her husband, who said that there was nothing wrong with the jacket, that he had pressed it himself, and that Julie, and two other customers said there was nothing wrong with the jacket. (Why other customers would be sharing their opinions is not clear to me. I think the pictures speak for themselves.). Andy also said that he couldn't get it re-pressed by Monday morning. He told me I either needed to pick up the jacket by noon on Saturday or that they would be open at eight on Monday and I could pick it up then. He said they would refund my money, but that they would not fix the problem. I told him I was not happy but he wasn't giving me any choice. I drove back on Saturday to get the jacket which ruined my planned Saturday morning breakfast with my son and family. On the way, I called Julie, told her I was coming back for the jacket,she said she had refunded the payment. I expressed to her that what really hurt was that her husband who had never seen the jacket said there was no problem when both she and I had seen the jacket and she had acknowledged there was a problem. When I got back to the store I told Julie that my breakfast with my son had been ruined. Her whole attitude had changed. She said she didn't want to hear it, what I had said was inappropriate and to get out of the store.

The wedding dress came back completely unwearable--shoulders didn't fit, buttons were falling off, seams were uneven, and the stitching was coming undone. We had to buy a replacement dress just days before the wedding. Other dresses, including the reception gown and a bridesmaid dress, also had major issues. I gave the owner every opportunity to make things right--she acknowledged the problems and agreed to issue refunds. But after weeks of follow-ups, nothing was processed, and I've now been blocked from contacting her. I've been more than fair, even offering to absorb the cost of the original dress, just to resolve this peacefully. Instead, I was left with added stress, financial loss, and no accountability. Please think twice before trusting this business with anything as important as a wedding gown. I would never want another bride or family to go through what we did.

After buying the suit at Jos Bank they suggested taking it up to Wayne because they didn't have a tailor at the moment. Wayne also later repaired the lining in my husband's Navy Pea Coat which had belonged to his father and was really special to us. We had others look at this coat and not want to do the job. So we have been so excited with how Wayne was able to use the original material and fix the lining leaving it as much like the original coat as possible. Wayne's place is a hole in the wall and he has irregular hours, but he was great to us and we will continue to give him business. And what an amazing life story this guy has.

I stated clearly that I wanted a 31" inseam, so there wasn't a need for measuring or confusion. As Robert said, the shop is essentially in a closet and everything is disorganized. He took my name down on his note pad and a brief description of the pants I was leaving. He said it would be a week, which initially surprised me that it would take that long to hem approximately 2" off two pairs of pants, but I guess that's not for me to decide. I came back a week later and he barely, if at all, remembered me. He had to flip through his notebook to realize that he even had my pants and, in fact, had done nothing to them. He asked if I had to do anything around town because he could have them ready in two hours. At this point I was a little frustrated simply because my suspicions of it being an quick and easy job were all confirmed. I however did not get any discount on the price. I felt that I have to give at least two stars because the pants turned out fine. But I don't think I'll find another reason to trust my clothing to Wayne's unfortunately. Still looking for a good taillor in Lynchburg. I'm getting married in September and really want that suit to look great.
