lunch menú

I was really disappointed with this place. The lunch menu had very few options, and I expected a high-quality experience since I filtered for pricier restaurants to treat my family to something nice. Unfortunately, this did not live up to that at all. When I brought it up, the staff said dinner is better, but honestly, I doubt it. If you're looking for a real dining experience, you're better off going to El Paso. Las Cruces just doesn't have many good options.

The food was delivered at a casual but prompt timing. The waiter was attentive without being overbearing. The view was nice and the dining area was cozy.

I would love to give it more than 3 stars because there is a lot to like including a good course layout (desert scrub is prominent), some good views of the surrounding area, reasonable green fees, good food at the Sunset Grill - my breakfast burrito with eggs, potatoes, chorizo and green chile sauce was delicious - and a fantastic staff who were very friendly and accommodated us when we requested to adjust our tee time; however, while the fairways were generally in good shape, most of the tee boxes and some of the greens definitely need some TLC. The starter - super nice guy - indicated the course was in the process of being managed back into better shape. I will definitely plan to play again if I'm in the Las Cruces area; I look forward to seeing the course in better shape.

Tee box hole 7

One of the worst golf courses to play at. The only thing good was the staff was friendly and the green were in decent shape. Overall tee boxes were dirt and uneven. The fairways was mostly dirt. The biggest problem with this place is it is not taken care of and with that comes overgrown areas with standing water. I don't think I was able to take a shot without hitting 10 mosquitoes on each leg. This was by far one of the least enjoyable round of golf I have ever played. Didn't even finish 18 from having 50 bug bites on each leg. Will never come here again.

The worst sand bunkers I have ever seen. Pretty bad when the bunkers have more grass than sand. Not a good value at $60.

It was a very slooooow night. Ordered three drinks and clearly pointed out my parents. Bar tender poured four after I reiterated several times we wanted three. When she set down the fourth I communicated that we only wanted three and proceeded to argue with me that the fourth was for my father(whom i had already ordered for). It was very aggravating and ruined a night that would have otherwise been care free and relaxing. Food was typical bar food. There arent a lot of great restaurant options in las cruces so we were expecting to go and have a nice evening, enjoy the sunset and catch up. Instead, we got servers who came over and proceeded to argue with what the problem was. the place has great views, but if they could step up the service and be more "friendly" it would go a long way. Maybe the place would then be busier than the crowd that they are currently getting. my family and I will not be returning.

Last summer under the new management I also had the Ahi Tuna (yes, in the desert) and it was fabulous. Salads I've had were wonderful and today I had a quick bowl of chili. The chili was a good temperature. Not too hot, it wasn't nuked. The seasoning is great and thick, the way chili should be. I've spent time on the deck, in the dining room and in the tap room. The service has been excellent. The staff is pleasant, attentive and know the menu as well as their jobs. The decor is continuing to be updated and there are new tables, new paint and new decor. I really hope the word get out about this great dining, snacking, golfing experience. I'll follow up again this coming summer. I can't wait to see you again.

The young female server brought no menu, no setup, no water to the table. She was a unsure about whether they carried Coke products. She brought my Pepsi on request, set it down, took about two minutes to get a straw I had to request & then a napkin I had to request separately. The glass was filled to the brim & had no ice tho I asked for "not too much ice." She did not bring any salt for the fries, (nor was any offered for the wings last week.) The wait for her return got marginally longer each time she left the table. She did not return to ask if the meal was ok, if I needed anything, & was gone a good while while I simply abandoned my quest for salt. And ice for the soda. She hovered closely at my elbow when dropping off the bill & as I fumbled to put the sandwich into the take-out, get into my purse, and pack up my writing pad & pen, she just stood there asking if I knew if it would be cash or charge. Either way I planned to pay, so this breathless monitoring did not help. I asked her to give a me chance to put things together - & a bit of space, so she left for about five minutes, actually until I stood up & readied to leave. Some training is in order for this server & some basic courtesy plus people skills might also be helpful. I have experienced far better service there but not sure what is happening lately. Why is the food dry? Why no condiments? Why no contact at all from beginning of meal to end? Usually the server will cruise by to ask if anything else needed. I know this to be a better eatery. What's up?

I CAME WITH NO CLUBS TO PLAY AND MY BOYFRIEND WAS ONLY IN A GROUP WITH A FATHER AND SON (meaning he got a cart to himself anyway). With an establishment that was recommended by pretty "high name" people of the city, I'm surprised to see Painted Dunes making visitors pay a WHOLE cart fee just to spend time with their significant other, when there was room in the first place to accommodate. Also, another note, I came LATE because I was waiting for my boyfriend to let me know if he'd get his own cart anyway. I found my boyfriend at hole 5 and was tracked down at hole 7 being told to pay. MONEY HUNGRY behavior.

Most notably the 4th of July fireworks and food trucks etc. The golf course is basically my back yard, but I still haven't swing any clubs here - I'm more of a casual Top Golf guy lol I do have friends though that golf almost daily, and neighbors that do as well and take advantage of the courses proximity to our new homes. They all swear by it and love it. Probably one of the better courses in El Paso - because I have friends deep on the West Side that still make the track over here to play 18.
