Not every school is perfect but this school tries to make an impact on students and families. He asked me to bring it to the office, but he doesn't have his phone so no way I could get ahold of him. I come in and she tells me to just put it on the table with his name. The sign above the table says 'staff is not responsible for the items- and they will not call the student to let them know it's there.' I ask her to call for him because he doesn't know I brought it- she tells me he won't hear it because he's in the cafeteria, but calls anyways. Another mom comes in with a laptop- she just tells her a name and asks to make sure she gets it. Joanne calls out for this student and immediately the student comes for the laptop. (Didn't tell the mom to place it on the table with a sticky note like she told me). I didn't leave because I wanted to make sure my son got his jacket. I waited 30 minutes. Finally she called a second time and he came up immediately to get it. Had I not sat and waited I don't believe she would have helped at all. He had to be at recess for a full 30 minutes without a jacket. - and as a mom I could never do that to another kid. I find her extremely rude and unhelpful and not a good fit for the very first person point of contact in the office at the school. Had I come in for a doc appt or something they would have had him come to the office immediately. I know there are systems in place to get ahold of the kids and she just chose not to help and wasted 30+ minutes of my day.

Also they will call and tell you when your kid is doing something wrong. But not when your child has been hurt or is been being bullied. Unless you're in the group of parents/ kids they like. Teachers are there with the walkie-talkies to get the kids, but then they get distracted by talking full conversation with parents and cars. Can we move a little faster next year? You can't do nothing in the next three weeks. I appreciate it and then outside on the Main St., Merrill you need a cross guard or someone there because they would not let cars come in or out and people across the street. It's very inconsiderate and unsafe.

She comes home every day from school telling me all the new things that she learned including her alphabet, counting, sing-along songs, writing skills etc. She is always excited to go to school, and is well monitored while there with multiple teachers supervising in the classroom at all times. You can tell the teachers have a passion for children and genuinely love their job. They have flexible hours that you can adjust to fit your work or school schedule. They offer full day school and extended hours which is difficult to find for toddlers. There IS a waiting list, but it is well worth the wait! I highly recommend the program

My nephews go to this school its right around the corner from us and so far its been good.(3years…read moreand counting) We are enrolling our daughter this year and I'm excited for her. We had an option to enroll her at GVA with her other cousins but so far my sis- in - law has had some issues with them nothing major but enough for me not to feel comfortable with. When my nephews first got here (Everett elementary)they were behind in school due to my sister not taking them in Lodi, that's when we became legal guardians and enrolled them here, right away the teachers were very helpful and did everything they could to help one of my nephews catch up they split him in k/1st grade it was a lot for him but the teachers worked very hard for him. I now have two happy healthy boys and I thank the twins Ms. Vaughn and Ms. Vaughn for helping my nephew get through this rough patch.

And the principal would act as if she know nothing about what was going on! The same thing happened at my other daughter school at Orchard elementary and both girls have nonverbal autism! This is sad and disturbing that they are treating kids this way and they are supposed to be helping them! But they are treating children evil! My daughter has a severe autism spectrum disorder and disabilities and they come off as not wanting to do the job they signed up for. Complaining she had bowel issues when I made them aware of that.
