No stars wasn't an option. Avoid this location at all costs. My wife, her friend, and I spent over an hour trying to get three simple drinks. First, they sat at the stall for 15 minutes with zero response. They moved to the drive-thru, but the line was completely frozen, and nobody was taking orders there either. Customers were literally driving away out of frustration. We eventually left and tried ordering via DoorDash thinking it would be faster. The first Dasher had to drop the order after being stuck in that drive-thru line for another 15 minutes. When the second Dasher arrived and got stuck, we called the store. The staff member on the phone claimed they weren't busy and were moving quickly, blaming DoorDash instead. Having just been there, I know for a fact that wasn't the case. When the completely liquefied, melted drinks finally arrived after an hour-long ordeal, my drink wasn't even the large I ordered--it was a small. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a Sonic. We waited over 40 minutes for an order of 2 cheese sticks, 1 cheesy tot, and a slush--with only 2 other cars in the parking lot. There was no reason such a small order should have taken that long. The wait was completely unreasonable, and there was little to no communication or apology for the delay. Went to this location yesterday and ordered a Kids Meal. The drive-thru was lined up with 5 cars in front of me. I waited 35 minutes to get to the window. Two cars in front of me left without getting food. The music inside the building was so loud you couldn't hear to order. The girl working the window spent 5+ minutes in the parking lot talking to two men. There was also a man in a van that pulled up beside of these two men and was yelling at this girl who did not care. I assume he didn't get food either. When I finally did reach the window she was extremely rude. She asked if I ordered two Limeades and I said no. She said oh was it the Kids Meal and I said yes and a drink. She cut me off and said I KNOW I just didn't want to repeat it all. Then I said if you all would turn the music down we could hear to order. She said whatever and slammed the window in my face. This was the worst trip to Sonic I've ever had. Twenty minutes to place an order at the speaker. Three meals, long minutes between us saying something and the employee responding. Repeated back all wrong. Really ridiculous! There was a long line and now I know why. By far the worst fast food experience I've ever had. Watched a girl delivering food in spandex shorts, as short as underwear, and was yanking them down and touching her bare skin and hair while delivering food. Eww. Is there no dress code? The service was so very sad. We initially asked for knives and forks along with salt, ketchup, mayo, etc. over the speaker to make sure we got what we needed. When our food arrived, nothing we asked for was there. It took the server 3 trips to get most of what we needed and she still didn't bring the ketchup and mayo. My husband had to walk to the window to get what we needed. When he got to the window there were 4 staff in the kitchen and they all looked and made eye contact with him, but nobody moved to help him. When he had to ask for help, they all looked at each other but made no effort to help. Once he got a little nasty asking for help yet again, our server suddenly acted like she just noticed and apologized for forgetting the ketchup, nevermind apologizing for ignoring him. It was horrible. It took me over an hour to calm my husband down after being treated like shit for 45 minutes. We paid a stupid amount of money for OK food and to be treated like dogs. We will NOT be back to this Sonic ever again. We are not people who complain about most things. We understand how hard being a server and working the kitchen can be, but this experience was horrible. I wish I had read the other reviews before we decided to eat dinner there. Do better folks, compared to my experience, anything would be an improvement. read more

Do not use the app to order. I ordered from home and then arrived in the stall as recommended. I pushed the button to check in told them that I was here and they said they had my order and that they would complete it. 45 minutes later and four button pushes later a guy comes out and brings me one item from my whole order and says that's all there is. Ok #1, I ordered my food at 11:50 AM. Just in time for lunch. My ETA of food was 12:17, and I did not mind waiting! As it got closer to that time though, I realized that it was not going to get to me in time. I also looked around and saw that there were about 5 cars that HADN'T moved since I had got there. I waited for my food until 12:45 PM. The service was also terrible. My friends and I pressed the red button 3 times and each time the response time was 10+ minutes. Overall, terrible experience. Will I go back? Of course because this place is basically the only place to hang out in this tiny ass town. But it was terrible. Don't go unless you expect wasting 45 minutes of your life. read more

Had a mobile order and arrived to pick up, waited 20 minutes to receive a response from the menu board. The order was not in their system. The manger had come out to figure out what the problem was, said he would bring out a paper and pen to write down the order, and would proceed to not bring back a piece of paper so we could write down our order. It took us asking through the menu board for the second time to receive the paper minutes later. This became a great inconvenience and we sat at this sonic for a total of 52 minutes. If I could give this 0 stars, I would. We went through the drive thru and ordered, guy repeated it back to me correctly. Get up to the window, pay and take our food. Mozzarella sticks were on top which were part of our order so we assumed that everything else was correct. Fast forward 10 minutes, we're back at the house. 2 sandwiches in the bag, so far so good. I got a single bacon cheeseburger and my husband got the Hawaiian chicken sandwich so I just took the smaller feeling one. I open up the wrapper, and what I've received is a flattened bun with NO BURGER PATTY, bacon, the weird special sauce, lettuce, tomato, and Swiss cheese. My fiancé and I would give this a zero star rating if we could. We were craving something sweet and figured we'd stop at sonic. Well we ordered two shakes, that was supposed to come to $9.42 tax and all. It was a chocolate shake with strawberries, medium sized, and a medium Oreo shake with chocolate. First they tried to overcharge us. Advised us it was going to be 13.88. We thought it sounded off so we even decided to check on their websites to double check. Almost 5 $ over the actual price of these shakes. At first we thought maybe they have something incorrect so we decided to pull up to the window. Waited 15 minutes! They never came to the window. Sonic Drive-In in Oak Ridge Tennessee is an absolute disappointment. I have tried to give them a couple of chances over the last few weeks and every time they fail miserably. From the food being cold when you were the only one in line, from the orders being messed up, and for paying almost a dollar for cheese that you never got. And if the food wasn't bad enough, in my experience is so far the customer service is severely lacking. From carhops and servers that are young kids that have absolutely no respect for a customer to a manager who is old enough to definitely know how to treat people properly but just decides not to do so.
