We ordered a grape / tiger blood and a medium tiger blood and immediately knew we should have super-sized both of them. This may be the smoothest and most flavorful sno-cone I've eaten in years, absolutely no chunks of hard ice it's definitely like eating a cup of fresh snow drenched in the flavor of your choice. If the open sign is lit there will probably be a line but the staff here is not only friendly they are super efficient so pull out you cash and wait your turn the line here moves quickly with its two windows so order and pay at the first and pull forward to get rewarded - if it's been awhile since you've experienced a "brain freeze" prepare yourself it's only a few bites away...

The staff here is exceptionally friendly and efficient, the ordering process is immediately once you enter the restaurant so if you're not familiar with their menu it can be a little intimidating and you may feel somewhat rushed but in the end it worked out fine after getting a few recommendations from the staff. This seems to be a very popular restaurant with the locals and although the restaurant was busy during both our visits the restaurant was clean and organized. This is good pizza - plenty of quality ingredients especially the cheese with lots of stretch so I also highly recommend the cheesy bread as well, all the pizzas we tried were delicious as were the boneless chicken platters. Southwest Louisiana is home of the Cajuns & Creoles, that food is authentic here; the area is not famous for its Mexican food. But the food is still muy bueno. Los Ponchos has a separate entrance, and it's easy to see the sign from Highway 397. It's within half a mile from I-10, so if you're speeding between Lafayette and Beaumont, it's not far out of your way. The menu is full of things to eat: enchiladas, tostadas, tacos, quesadillas, even steaks and burgers (huh?). Or you can build your own combo, which I did: three items for $14.99. * Beef enchilada - the best of the bunch. Strong beefy taste. * Chicken taco - I had the soft taco, and it was so full of chicken, tomatoes, and lettuce that it spilled out onto the plate. Nice taste, tender chicken. * Chicken quesadilla - one tortilla folded over, and the cheese was gooey inside to hold that tender chicken inside and give it a nice flavor. * Served with refried beans & rice. I found another place that puts cheese on its refried beans, giving it a much better taste. Chips come with black beans in addition to salsa, a nice touch. Meanwhile, it is a clean place, tiles painted to look like south of the border. Not exactly authentic, but it does the job The ranchero and cumbia music sets the mood. Service with a smile. I was a lifelong Californian, and that state has some of the best Mexican food in the country; Mexicans moved north of the border, brought their recipes with them, and opened a place to eat just like home. Los Ponchos' food is up at THAT level, it's that good. If you're picky about your Mexican food, then make it a point to visit here.
