I came here for cheddar peppers, and ended up getting a Sonic Boom Box (replacing tater tots with cheddar pepper) with a side of WTF. I decided to drive up to the stall since my friend called my phone. I pressed the red button and continued talking. It then dawned on me 10 minutes later, no one answered. I pressed the button again. Nothing happens for another 5 minutes. I mean c'mon Sonic... I know you see me... I'm looking at you. I can physically see y'all. It wasn't even that busy. 2 cars on my right. That's it. Maybe 2 more in the drive-thru. But these people were already here before I got here and I doubt they all came at the same time. Finally someone takes my order. 10 minutes later, I get my food, but the guy says he needs to go get my cheddar peppers. He comes back a few minutes later and I thank him. I check my bag:
No ranch........ How do you eat cheddar peppers without ranch?
I buzzed again. Nothing. Y'all, I'm staring hard at these guys because they're right there... I can see them looking at the screen! They can see that I buzzed. They ignore it... again. Sonic, you have windows on all but one side of your building. I can see you ignoring me.
Frustrated like no other, I decide to go to the drivethru. I tell them they forgot to give me my ranch for my cheddar peppers. The woman is confused and baffled, probably because I went through the drive thru to wait for ranch dressing. Oh the irony. She tells me to pull to the side so she can step out to get my ranch packets. So I do. Guess what game I'm playing again? Ding ding ding - it's the waiting game. Except there are no winners.
I almost went over to the Jack-in-the-Box to get some Buttermilk ranch dressing because honestly it would have been faster and I would have gladly paid 15 cents or whatever they would have charged me.
After about 5 minutes or so I finally get my ranch, and she apologizes. I would have accepted her apology, except the whole time she looked the other away. Not a genuine apology, but an apathetic murmur.
By now it has been well over half an hour. I get home only to find that my order was wrong. The bacon hot dog was supposed to be spicy and, as it turns out, they already put cheddar peppers in my box, except now everything is cold, so now I have twice the soggy peppers. My cheeseburger has cooled down into this awkward accordion shape from sitting upright on its side. The one saving grace was my strawberry limeade. I think I'm gonna cry.
This was hands down the worst Sonic drive-in I've ever been to. Even by Sonic standards the whole process was god awful slow. I will never come here.
Ironically, they gave excellent customer service to their friend sitting in the court. Go figure. read more
