I have had some bad experiences with the front desk. Though they have been few and far between. I booked my Annual Wellness Visit over a month in advance. When I arrived the ladies at reception desk told me the doctor cannot conduct my Annual Wellness Visit because there is not enough time and he can only spare 15 minutes with me. The women at reception desk were extremely rude and told me I had to come back on Monday for the wellness visit, when I told them I already took the whole day off today and couldn't take Monday off they said the doctor does not have the time. I had a very bad and unfortunate experience in my last visit when I let doctor Kathryn Kuscavage know I have been feeling uncomfortable with my ears. She was rushing the visits but I only needed a doctor referred so it was not a big deal. She still checked on my ears and saw earwax in one of them and decided to take a tool and started scraping to remove it without letting me know. I started feeling pain until I scream since I felt the tool going through my skin but she kept pressing until she took the earwax out. At that moment I thought it was too much but did not pay a lot of attention since it was already done until I got home and felt something in my ear. I had blood coming out my ear no stopping. Next morning I had dry blood since it kept coming out, I was in pain and could not hear very well from that side. I called the office to let them know what happened and they gave me an appointment with another doctor and then they were rushing me to confirm or they will charge me for an appointment I needed because they did something wrong since taking out earwax should not cause damage or be painful. I end up canceling the appointment and going to the urgent care where they saw how swallow my ear was not able to see through it and the wound I had. I was prescribed antibiotics and a referral for an ear doctor. I wanted to make this review so it does not happens to anyone else. At no point did anyone clarify this beforehand, resulting in confusion and unexpected billing. During the appointment, the physician Dr Kathryn Kuscavage was extremely rushed, spoke quickly, and did not take the time to explain the purpose of the visit or any of the tests being ordered. I would not recommend having her as your physician. She has no listening skills and no compassion. I was immediately sent for a blood draw, yet no lipid panel was ordered, which is a standard preventive test for annual exams. This raises concerns about the office's understanding of preventive-care guidelines and attention to patient needs. To make matters worse, when reviewing lab results later, the doctor did not explain or interpret the findings, leaving me completely in the dark about my own health. There was no discussion of follow-up steps or guidance, making me feel ignored and unsupported. She literally looked at her computer for a minute and read my lab results and did not bother to ask if I had any questions or concerns. She was probably the rudest physician I have encountered. The overall experience was compounded by unclear communication, very unprofessional front-desk staff, and a dismissive, impersonal approach from the physician. Extremely Disappointed and Let Down This was my first (and definitely last) visit with Dr. Nestor Garcia Ceball at Soni Family Practice, after switching from another provider in the same clinic due to similarly poor treatment. Unfortunately, things were even worse this time. I waited over 30 minutes in a cold room--no apology, no explanation. I have a medical syndrome that causes my feet to turn blue, and I had to spend the entire time trying to keep them warm. Eventually, I had to ask for assistance just to get the doctor to come in. When he finally arrived, Dr. Garcia Ceball barely acknowledged me, made no eye contact, and seemed completely disinterested. I mentioned minoxidil, a well-known treatment, and he didn't even know what it was--he literally asked me what it does. That is deeply concerning for a medical professional. He dismissed my concerns entirely and refused to prescribe Klonopin, despite my documented history of anxiety attacks and ongoing symptoms. Instead, he gave me a referral to a doctor who doesn't even answer their phone. His only "solution" was to recommend I "get my mental problems under control" by seeing a psychiatrist--which he would've known I already have if he had read my chart. He asked if I had hair loss but didn't even look up from his computer to see that I clearly do. He showed no empathy, no bedside manner, and no desire to understand or help with my actual concerns. What's worse is that I came to him after already being brushed off by another doctor at Soni Family Practice who also gave generic advice, refused requested treatment, and basically shoved a stack of referrals into my hands and sent me out. So much wrong with the Poinciana location. They are a JOKE! Read their paperwork! States that you can be waiting a long time for the provider so make sure you have enough time. If you must leave before seeing them, you are still required to pay. I have waited 1.5 hours before being seen. They can't keep providers so you might see someone different each time and they want to repeat labs because it's their first time seeing you (More money). Providers refuse to fill out medical forms without seeing you multiple times even though you are not a new patient, they are just a new provider. They then tried to send me to the Davenport location to get the paperwork filled out. Luckily, I called the davenport location to verify because they could not understand why they would send me to their location. Appt cancelled. Spoke with the office manager at poinciana who stated he spoke with the original provider who refused to sign the paperwork and said I needed to make a follow-up appt and they would be signed (more money). Labs were completed and appt made for referral made. Went to the appt for the provider to still refuse to fill out the paperwork until being seen by a specialist who didn't have an appt for 8 months. This is office has no proper procedures in place to review appointments that patients are able to set up on their own in order to proactively assess whether they will be able to honor them. The reason I say this is because their online scheduling system is flawed. They allow appointments to be made that you end up finding out cannot be honored for one reason or another. The system doesn't even give you an option to select if you are making an appointment for the purpose of an annual physical. I made an appointment online for a physical weeks before and the day before I spoke with the office staff to confirm my appointment and made sure that my insurance information was up to date. Mind you, in my appointment request, I manually wrote that the reason for my appointment was for a physical. There was no option for a physical. The option that was most relevant to me was an "established patient follow up." No one told me the day prior that there was a problem with my appointment. I received a call just as I was coming into the office, about 10 mins prior to my appointment time, and when I walked in the staff informed me that they would not be able to see me because an annual physical needs an allotted time of at least 30 mins and they were close to closing. They said they had been trying to reach me but I informed them I spoke with someone the day prior to confirm and nothing was discussed with me to that effect. They offered no apology and simply told me that I needed to reschedule. No one offered to get an office manager involved for some resolution and I'm sure it's because no one wanted to fess up to the error. Truly unprofessional. No attention to detail in the scheduling and administration of the office. I wasted time and PTO to come to the office. If their doctors are great, it's truly a disappointment that it's overshadowed by the office's front staff and administration. Don't waste your time. read more

I changed my insurance and had to get a new doctor which I was not happy about. This was one of the few places that takes my insurance that is also nearby. I was very hopeful for this as I had specialist appointments that I had to miss because of my insurance change. They require prior authorizations again even though I've been seeing these doctors for years. First off I overslept and missed my appointment time. I received a phone call asking if I was still going to be making it in and I told them it would take me about 20 minutes to get there. I was told I would have to reschedule and I explained that I really needed to get in as soon as possible because of my need to see some other doctors. They were able to get me in less than an hour later so I got my stuff together and drove there. My GPS tried to take me to the wrong location but thankfully I knew the complex it was in. When I entered I only had to wait a moment before someone talked to me to check me in. I was given a stack of paperwork to fill in and told that I could give it to the nearest when I was done. I sat down and started filling it in and was called just a couple of minutes later. The nurse who handled me was very friendly and handled everything efficiently. We went over some of the basics of why I was there and I explained that it was my first visit because I had changed my insurance. I finally finished it while I was talking with the doctor. I probably spent close to an hour with the doctor trying to go over everything with me and get her up to date. I understand the place is busy with patients but I do expect a doctor to be a little more professional when dealing with me. As I would try to explain things she would stop me and then give me a repeated 5-minute conversation in a tone acting like I was her child or something. I get where she might feel that I was wasting her time trying to give medical history but she was wasting a lot more time being condescending. Once we finished I had to fill out a bunch more paperwork and set an appointment for 6 weeks. I believe I gave them the information to retrieve medical records from all my doctors and one testing facility. I have a wide variety of medical issues that have been handled by specialists for a lot of years now and now I was informed that they handle everything in house rather than sending me to specialists who really know what's going on with me. I don't really like this formula but insurance doesn't seem to give much choice. I'm hoping that over time the medical treatment here will get better and that I will actually get the care I need for each issue that I have. I don't think my nurse practitioner even looked at my first visit forms. I had a very specific dosage and directions on when to take said dosage from the previous state in which I had lived (I moved to Florida a few months back). The dosages were correct, but the directions were wrong, which explained why for a thirty-day supply of twice-a-day medication, I was returning to the pharmacy every week and a half (I was taking it the way I originally was in my old town; it didn't even dawn on me that the directions on my new script were incorrect until weeks later, especially when I wrote the specific directions of my prescription on my first visit forms). And then, there was the online patient portal: right at the top of the page is a note saying the office will get back to any messages you leave within two days. Today, I received a reply from my nurse practitioner after 33 days. I wanted to like this place; I really did, but there were too many mistakes and signs of lacking professionalism. They don't bother contacting the pharmacy to get medications approved that need prior authorization. The pharmacy will try calling them also. My medications keep getting denied because they won't contact the pharmacy to get the authorization done. They also gave me bad information for who is in network, sending me to labs and other doctors that are not in network. read more

My initial Dr's visit was less than desirable. Diabetic, she wanted to go back to Metformin. Pills that didn't work,hence on insulin. She stopped my script for Ambien. Afraid to dispense a controlled substance. I suffer from severe insomnia. Didn't tell me of above. Had to find out, checking for my meds. I called, waited. I was scheduled 6 months ago for lab work today 01/07/25 for review for a doctor's visit scheduled 01/30/25. I was reminded daily a week in advance via text and voice messages of my upcoming visit and instructions of fasting and arriving 15 minutes early for my appointment. Upon my arrival I was informed that my appointment was cancelled because the lab technician called out sick. The receptionist was very insensitive informing me these things do happen and that I needed to reschedule. She didn't acknowledge that I took off time from my busy schedule to keep this appointment however I tried to acquiesce by informing her to please accommodate me with another 8:00 am slot since it wasn't my fault the appointment was canceled. She was unable to accommodate me. I asked her for the script to go to LabCorp since I was already out and had fasted but when I arrived they were packed to capacity. It's unfortunate I as the patient suffered the consequences of someone failing to report as scheduled and no one being assigned to cover in their absence or rescheduling me at a time that was convenient for me. read more

I called 3 or more times, I went to the office 3 times and Walgreen's continued faxing the office and nothing. This is the second time I have checked in for an appointment with the lab (both of which happened to be just before they are scheduled to go to lunch - BIG mistake - especially since I had to fast the first time for lab work) and sat in the waiting room for more than 45 minutes the first time and an hour the second for a simple injection, even though I approached the front office staff to confirm my appointments. The staff are rude, indifferent, incentive and insincere. They have no office etiquette or respect for the patients or their time. I have witnessed this with other patients as well and heard other horror stories about Sone Family Practice office staff. My children were patients here for over a year before I was able to change physicians. I was also a patient. I can really only recommend two of the nurses (who were very nice). I did not like Dr. Soni whatsoever nor really the assistants who frequently see you. She did not have very good bedside manner - and I found she did not really listen to us. She was very pushy with certain medications & just not on the same page as myself or my children Was very happy to change physicians. I can't recommend Dr. Soni or her clinic, personally. I explained my situation that I started a new career as an Over-the-Road trucker and needed a refill to hold me over while I transition. The Office Manager told me no. I have been a patient at this practice for years. I've had a few issues in that time, but nothing major. I will say, even though Dr Soni is my primary care doctor, I have never actually met the woman. I've always been seen by nurses or PA's. I went to see my ophthalmologist recently and they determined that I need to have eye surgery. I saw the surgeon last week and they scheduled the surgery for two weeks out, with my pre-op appointment next week. I just got the registration paperwork for the surgery center today and there's a medical release form that I need to have signed by my PCP. I have no medical conditions, take no medications, and I'm relatively young and healthy, no problems. So I called and asked if they'd sign it, but of course they won't without an appointment. That's fine, I understand. My pre-op appointment is next week, but Dr Soni's office doesn't have availability for three to four weeks!! And the receptionist was very rude! I explained that I need this surgery and I need to have this form signed so that I can have it done, and she said "What do you want me to do? I can't double book the physician!" in a snotty tone. I was seen by Jenafer and had a fantastic experience. She saw me within me two minutes of the nurse leaving the room. I didn't even get to finish my paperwork before I was seen. Jen made me feel very comfortable and was super easy to talk to. I was just establishing care today but I feel like I made a really good choice with this office. Without knowing a single thing about my health conditions, I stepped into the hall to get the nurse to state I'm ready for the urine sample. She meets me in the hall and proceeded to berate me about not wearing a mask. Not knowing that I never wear one due to anxiety and feelings of being trapped. I try to explain and she doesn't listen, continues to have a "power trip" and command that I wear one. Hey Kathryn this is America and we have choices. I wasn't sick so I don't need to wear a mask. My wife needed a local doctor, so she tried Soni Family Practice. I went with her when she had an appointment with Dr. Harlow. She was fantastic! She really spent a lot of time with us asking lots of questions in order to point us in the right direction for a full diagnosis. If I didn't already have a doctor, I would come here. Dr. Soni is fantastic and I have a complicated medical case. She took the time to understand my medical issues and works with my specialist beautifully. There has been a time that the staff made an appt and gave me an appt card reflecting a date that they later said was erroneous. Fortunately it was just a follow up visit for me and did not matter but could have been a problem. She is busy enough that you will not easily see her on an emergency basis. Well the first few visits were promising then customer service dropped to zero. I personal think they took on to many patients. I looked the other way, when I kept getting charged fees for no show appointments I didn't schedule. Today I attempted to schedule a medication refill for the second time. The first attempt, I was unknowingly scheduled with a PA whom cannot refill all my meds. This time after four phone calls including a fifteen minute placement on hold only to be hung-up on. I was finally successful in obtaining an appointment with an MD. I LOVED my primary but I needed to find one that was more conveniently located from my house ASAP to get a simple paperwork filled out for my new nursing job. I regret coming to this one!!! I been going to this practice for over 4 years. First I started at the Ocoee office the the Davenport office. The experience I have had over the years has worsened. The front desk takes forever to answer the phones or doesn't at all. Doctors/P.A. are always leaving soy don't have the same one for long. The office staff never gets back to you or follows when they say they are. I had the worst experience trying to appeal a prior authorization. The front desk told me it was still pending after over two weeks, which was because the PA department never worked on sending additional documents for the appeal. I had to call and complain several times. Its almost like no one cares. I am finally leaving and found a MD that is excellent and board certified and that is attentive and follows up. The staff is so nice and very processional. Dr. Soni really needs to look into who they hire as this affects the patients. read more

Their office staff is absolutely horrible. They never ever return phone messages or texts even though their voice messages say to leave a message or to text a certain number. If you see the doctor and ask for a prescription refill they never ever do it on the first request. You have to call again and again and then have your pharmacy call them to get it authorized. I saw Dr. Hidalgo 3 times for cholesterol issues. She was very good. I gave them info on who my OB/Gyn is and what I was doing thru them. She said that was fine.They never had me sign to have records shared by my OB/gyn or asked about it at all then all of a sudden 9 months later I get a call from a radiology center saying I need to schedule a mammogram. I had just had one. Turns out Soni Family Practice suddenly thought I should have one and called this place to call me. Why the hell didn't they instead ask me to get the records from my ob/gyn. Do not go to this practice. They are so disorganized. Not only that but when I went in for a simple EKG during a physical they told me I would have to come back another day for that because the machine wasn't on. This sounded strange to me because I didn't think EKG machines had to warm up before they could be used but I took more time off work and went back a few days later. I told them not to bill me or my insurance for this because I was supposed to have it during my original appt and it wasn't my fault the machine wasn't ready. They still billed me and my insurance for the extra appt. I called their billing. The woman I spoke with confirmed their machine didn't have to warm up. I told her I was calling my insurance to tell them not to pay and that I refused to pay a penny for that 2nd visit. She agreed and supposedly deleted the bill.
