We had a bar snack sandwich each and was impressed by the staff and the quality of the food, so we had a quick look at the full menu and decided to book a table for that evening. The food is quite traditional, but with a wonderful eastern influence. Beautifully presented with fantastic flavours, every course was a delight and I thought the bill was very reasonable. I've certainly paid more for lesser fare than this! I would heartily recommend anybody who finds themselves in the Barnstaple area check this place out!

It is truly a fascinating place and very worthwhile visiting. People there are so friendly those you meet on the street and those you meet in the intriguing stores along the main street. A Fishmonger, Greengrocer and Florist is a creative combination and from the moment you step into the store you sense you are a welcome friend. The various items on sale are so artistically arranged. They are easy to see and examine. The staff are very client-focussed and desire to really provide just the items you are seeking. It took me back a few decades when I used to visit relations in Surrey who ran a couple of similar stores as well as mobile stores throughout the area. For a Saturday night at 8pm it was pretty devoid of atmosphere, a few couples and 1 group didn't really enliven the place much. There were no drinkers and given its position right on the A303 it seems to be an eating destination for a few locals and people like us who were passing and in need of sustenance on our way back to London. As there is not too much choice in the area its a good option for a bite while on the road but its not really a place to go out of your way for. That said they do have a very extensive menu including pizza, definitely more than your average pub grub so maybe we were just unlucky with what we chose.
