I am not one to write reviews and am very reluctant to submit this one. However, I just had the worst massage experience ever. I feel bad because the person who conducted the massage was very nice but was WOEFULLY inexperienced. I'll detail the problems I experienced with the hopes that the owner addresses them so future clients can enjoy a better massage. 1. Atmosphere: the room was bare with no relaxing elements. I had to request music during the massage to drown out the distracting conversations in the next room. Recommendation: have relaxing music and/or water elements playing as clients enter to facilitate relaxation. 2. Linen: the sheets were uncomfortably fuzzed and smelled of rancid massage oil. This was another distraction for me throughout the massage because I kept wondering if the linen was clean. Recommendation: better quality linen and detergent to remove oils. 3. Time: my appointment was for an hour massage, however the person ended 12 minutes before my hour (2:48 versus 3:00). That does not include the time it took to locate music. I felt that I was cheated of my scheduled time. Suggestion: Actual massage times should reflect what is advertised. 4. Massage quality: my appointment was for a deep tissue massage, however, I left feeling all I received was a body rub with oil. There was no deep pressure or relaxation with my massage, both of which I was really looking forward to receiving. I hope that the above situations and recommendations are considered, and changes made to present a more rewarding and professional experience for other clients. I had my first ever massage here at the recommendation of my chiropractor. The staff was very knowledgeable and and kind. It was a wonderful experience. I went ahead and bought a package because I am making this part of my monthly health care plan. I am so glad to have found this place. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a family member who is 7 months pregnant with two young children, so that she could enjoy a stress free hour as a bday gift. I called Somatic prior to purchasing the Groupon and spoke with a very nice and helpful woman. I asked her if they do prenatal massage and was told, "yes, absolutely!" I told her I wanted to buy a Groupon and which massage would be the closest to this type of massage. I was told to buy a Swedish massage. This woman told me to get this one and that she would schedule a prenatal massage and note that this was the massage I bought for her. This family member happily walked in yesterday to check in, very obviously pregnant! Melissa, who turned out to be the OWNER, checks her in and marks the Groupon as redeemed. This family member then confirms the obvious, that she is getting a prenatal massage and from what I'm told, Melissa's whole demeanor just flips and is BEYOND rude, telling this person no that she is not set up for a prenatal massage. Melissa claimed that she was set up for a Swedish massage and that I didn't notify the person I spoke with that I was making an appt for a pregnant woman. I assure that is the MAIN reason i called to set this up. I'm fully aware it's a special kind of massage. Melissa was downright abusive in her verbal exchange with this person, upsetting my family member greatly - hardly the experience I set up for her!!! She left without getting her massage, needless to say. I called and spoke to Melissa, who constantly interrupted me trying to educate me on the difference of the two massages and that I should've specified that i wanted this type for my family member. I repeatedly tried to tell that's EXACTLY what I did. She tells me that the Groupon was for a Swedish massage. I told her that me what I was told to buy by HER employee! I said her employee must've gotten confused and in telling me to buy a Swedish massage, wrote that down instead. I couldn't relay this as she was very rudely speaking over me and kept insinuating this was my fault. She also told me I should've booked a prenatal certified massage for this appointment. I said, "no...that's what YOU should've done since I called to set up a prenatal massage!! That was YOUR job if I call you and make an appointment for a prenatal massage. YOU (or your employee) was supposed to make sure that type of masseuse was the only scheduled for this appointment." Unreal. I thought this lady was the receptionist. Imagine my disbelief to find out she is the OWNER. She didn't apologize (profusely), she didn't offer to make this better and reschedule, nothing. All she did was berate both this family member and then me as if this was our doing. I've never in my life encountered such an awful woman, an unreasonable one, and someone who won't take any accountability for herself or her employee, as she should as a business owner. She must be a joy to work for on a daily basis! And don't bother to get a massage from her and have anything be scheduled wrong,as she doesn't try to resolve issues, only verbally abuse those that are trying to give her MONEY!! Look at the other review here and other places. This is a pattern. I filed a complaint with Groupon and intend to file complaints elsewhere. If you're in need or want of a relaxing massage, you might want to look elsewhere...this place is anything BUT relaxing. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a massage at this location, after doing the research necessary to make sure they had Saturday hours and that the massage therapist was female. (While I know that does not matter to some, I'm not comfortable with a male massage therapist.) As Yelp, the reviews on Groupon, and the Facebook page all mentioned the female owner as the massage therapist, I did not think it would be an issue. When I called, I made the mistake of mentioning the fact that I had a Groupon (meaning they already had my money) before scheduling the appointment. I was then informed that I would only be able to book an appointment with the young male massage therapist, because Melissa (who was quite rude and cold) had standing appointments EVERY Saturday for EVERY month in the future with her existing clientele, and my Groupon would only be accepted by her if I was willing to come during the week on an afternoon (which is not possible, since I work). It would have been nice if more information was provided before purchase (like the names and hours of both therapists, and which days/hours they actually accepted lowly Groupon-clients, since the page is misleading). The biggest issue, however, was the rude and utterly unapologetic tone of the phone conversation with the owner. Groupon refunded my money, so now at least I know to emphatically cross this place off my list as I continue to search for a new regular massage therapist. read more

I was given a Groupon of three massages as a gift. I was quite excited about the gift, but the follow through from Somatic Harmony was unsatisfactory. So unsatisfactory that I never received by third paid for massage. Two reason for the unpleasant experience(s) : 1 - When calling the business, no one ever answers the phone. Every time I called, I had to leave a message and wait several days for a return call. I never got a reply from my last two messages. 2 - My third massage was scheduled for a Friday afternoon in June. Upon my arrival, no one was there. As I stood in the waiting room, I called thinking someone might be in a back room. No one answered. I waited in the waiting room 30 minutes before calling again, leaving a message with the dilemma and a call back number. I even wrote a note on the sign in page at the receptionist desk with my phone number. No one ever called me. As mentioned, I never received my last massage. read more
