We rented a villa in Sicily through solosicily.com, near Pozzallo in Sicily's southeast. We are truly in love with this amazing place, rich in history and culture with lovely buildings and churches, as well as a turquoise sea accompanied by long stretches of sand. If we hadn't seen it with our own eyes, we wouldn't have believed a place like this existed. In all of the trips that we have taken, we have never seen such a marvellous place with so many unique aspects. The villa (Apolline), where we stayed, was beyond beautiful, and just around the corner from the seaside. The owners were wonderful people and their welcome was so warm. When we arrived, we found the table full of typical Sicilian dishes. During sunset, the villa's jacuzzi was the best place to be, what a show!!! The villa itself is very refined and every detail has been thought of, including an amazing stone barbecue. I think the best thing about the holiday was the opportunity to go with Franco (the villa owner) to buy fish directly from the fishermen at the port. Exquisite shrimp! The day trips I recommend are to the cities of Noto, Scicli, Ragusa and Modica, for their incredible baroque architecture. Also, very close to Villa Apolline in the province of Syracuse, there are 2 fantastic nature reserves, Cassibile and Vendicari. Solosicily's Emanuela was so helpful while we were making our decision regarding where to stay. We chose the Capinera villa. It was beautiful. Everything and more than described by solosicily. I was stuck by how everywhere I looked a found another treasure. The villa was comfortable, spacious, clean, and decorated beautifully. The terrace was a sight to behold. Walking in the garden found lemon trees, a grapefruit tree, kumquats, birds of paradise, and a koi pond with lilies blooming. Urns, flowers, fruit, planters, and the sea minutes away. The trip to Taormina by cable care was easy, pleasant, and fun. Across the street there are restaurants, a small grocery store, and a little sandwich/rice ball/gelato shop where the rice balls were among the best. We were amazed and the hospitality and graciousness displayed by the Capinera villa's owner. We were greeted by two lovely women who represented the owner. They prepared a beautiful tray of Italian cheeses, meats, and breadsticks. They had a pitcher of juice, a pitcher of water, and a bottle of wine waiting. The well-stocked pantry had foil, plastic wrap, salt and pepper, coffee, tuna, and package toasts and pastries. There was detergent for the washing machine and the dishwasher. I can't tell you how much this was appreciated given we don't know the lay of the land and our command of the language is laughable. Sicily is a beautiful place. I am smiling as I am writing this remembering this most wonderful experience. Capinera put it over the top. I would not hesitate to book through Solosicily again. read more

Our experience with solosicily was totally positive. They have so many luxury villas to choose from, a fast online communication system and are very helpful in real-time, on the phone. Arriving to the small island of Favignana from the port of Trapani was super easy and solosicily helped us find the best car to rent, and everything. The villa we rented in Favignana, Casa Chiara, is right near the sea. The house itself is so cute and nicely decorated. Outside, the patio and pool are wonderful and we cooked so many amazing grilled fresh fish dinners on the barbecue. The beaches in Favignana, will blow you away. The turquoise water of Cala Azzurra, the reflection of the red rocks at Cala Rossa and the golden sand of the Lido Burrone, where we rented umbrellas... but also renting scooters and touring the island was fabulous. We rented scooters from Pietro in Via Garibaldi. We spent the day getting lost on the small sunny streets, I guarantee you that it's worth it! We ate well in a few different restaurants, I don't have any particular suggestion, everything was good. Actually, the best night was probably at the restaurant all' Abracadabra. One thing is certain, next year we want to defiantly come back to Casa Chiara and this time, maybe pause to see more of Trapani, the mountain top town Erice, for example, to see the breathtaking view everyone tells us we cannot miss. read more

Villa Parmina from www.soloSicily.com was exactly what we were expecting, totally breathtaking. And also super convenient because we were right between the city of Taormina and the coast. It's not every day that you can enjoy the view of the sea and a volcano during your morning coffee. It was like living in a post card! As for the villa, some things cost extra, like the jacuzzi, but I would say that it was well worth it. The villa owner was very helpful, which we were a little worried about because we had read a negative comment online, but everything was great. The beach that was closest to the house was fabulous and we also made many day trips to the Aeolian islands. At night we usually walked the main strip of Taormina, Corso Umberto which is full of artisan craft shops and things to eat. I think the thing I miss most about our vacation were the chats my husband and I would have on the villa's balcony and in the garden while we were barbecuing in the evenings (usually fish). read more

If you are thinking of having a holiday in Sicily look no further than renting a Villa a Villa from Solo Villas Sicily. Their customer Service team were brilliant from first booking to the holiday where they were always on the end of a phone if we needed anything. Our Villa was called Giada and did not disappoint in any way. Clean, good quality linens and very well equipped kitchen. The garden was like being on a tropical island with Palm Trees and plenty of shady spots to cool off. A beach led off from our garden gate which also had sunbed and parasols set up for us. Nothing nicer than a swim before breakfast or to cool off during the day. Have no hesitation in recommending this company, first class. read more

We have never used SS before and have to admit were unsure how the arrangements for the week would go... but as soon as we made our initial enquiry we were immediately put at ease by prompt phone calls and e-mailing with helpful answers to any queries and this gave us great reassurance/ confidence. I asked them to pre- arrange transfer bookings for our arrival/departure and they were 100% reliable. We travelled to Sicily as a group of eight; seven of whom were artists. Because none of us had ever been to Sicily before (though we have all visited mainland Italy several times) we decided to spend a week each in two places on opposite ends of the island. Emanuela at Solo Sicily took care of all the arrangements impeccably, including booking Fattoria Corleonese and La Benvoluta, arranging for a catered dinner at each location and organising a walking tour for us in Corleone. We had a fantastic time in Sicily. Villa Giada fulfilled all our expectations and the beachside location was terrific. Salvatore the owner was very kind and helpful and the welcome pack was excellent and much needed, as we arrived on a holiday weekend. The Villa was superbly equipped and the only improvement we can think of would be a bucket and spade for the beach.
