Oh look, there IS shrimp in here. I was beginning to think they had given me plain cheese by mistake.
    Lisa A.

The atmosphere is cozy, the prices are good, there are plenty of choices and they serve tasty chimichurri sauce. However, I just didn't think the empanadas were all that great. We tried the meat and cheese and the shrimp and cheese. The meat and cheese was a little better, but the shrimp empanada was pretty much flavorless. Honestly, had I not found the one teeny, tiny, little shrimp hidden among the cheese I would have thought that they messed up my order. I certainly couldn't identify it as shrimp based on the taste, because there wasn't much taste. The crust reminded me more of crackers than pastry. It wasn't really crunchy, but it wasn't flaky either. I guess it was kind of like stale water biscuits. I've never had Argentinian empanadas from any place but here so my basis of comparison is limited, but I would imagine that there are probably better examples to be found.

A nice little salad with chimichurri sauce and salsa and couple of empanadas makes for a pleasant change of pace.

Nice salads and a great variety of empenadas. Great chimichurri sauce and salsa. Good value for the money. A great place to go for a change of pace.

This place always hit the spot after enjoying happy hour drinks at El Divino. The empanadas are small but always fresh, hot, and filling. At about 2 bucks each, you can buy a few and not waste a lot money trying to soak up all that whiskey. I also really love the green sauce that comes with it!

The empanadas are really good. I like the beef ones the best (my favorites are traditional meat and spicy meat). I've tried the one with shrimp too. The shrimp is good but I think the best are still the beef based ones. I recommend going by and trying it out!

Fast and efficient order, staff were very friendly. Empanadas were very tasty and packed with lots of meat, had both chicken and beef.

Not the traditional empanadas I'm used to. These empanadas have an extremely smooth crust. They were still good and the meat was tender.

Empanadas are good, customer service is bad. Cashier has no personality. Food is a bit over priced.

Yummy empanadas. Good selections available, even a few vegetarian options. Salad is yummy. Few locations in the RGV.

Delicious - I want more chimichurri! The food here is well served and the service is great. Most of the combos come with a salad.

If you're on the fence to try this place, reserve now and go enjoy the night there Went on a Saturday evening. Had a dinner birthday reservation for 4. Got sat right away. Water was served right away. They Brought out the bread and tomatoes right away. Had some really good Argentinian red wine. They even let us do some wine tasting . Our daughter's food came out before ours ! Perfect! They fell in love with the Empanadas! As for my wife and I, we ordered Bife con Hueso. Words can't describe how delicious it was, with the chimi churi ! Cooked to perfection, with the right amount of flavor. Mad props to the chef. And presentation 10/10. The whole evening was just at peace. The food. The drinks. The service. The atmosphere. We'll be coming back again! Happy holidays

Wine - a stellar wine list, with a focus on Argentina (more Malbecs from different regions than I have ever seen) and incredible value; we had an organic Malbec for $45 with would cost 3x on the East coast Cow it's about the beef! A wood burning grill with the aroma of Mesquite for the Beef Short Ribs, NY Strip, Ribeye (with our without bone), right up to the Tomahawk. I had the lamb chops (8) which were cooked perfectly pink just like in France. All come with a house salad and the sides are amazing. The usual suspects (fries, mashed potatoes etc) but we went for the baked beets with cream cheese, pistachio & arugula and the portobello mushrooms; enough for the table and more to take home for lunch tomorrow... Service was great, despite the cramped conditions It's been a long time since I've had such a great meal out Try it - you will not be disappointed

Now, trying pan dulce from basically everywhere (Nevada, California, North Texas, The RGV) I'm able to honestly say that this place is my favorite. Also has the best prices. There really is no marketing or signage directing you to them, but the building is next to an antique shop. Closed Mondays My favorite pastries are the conchas, pigs, pink and yellow cookies, rainbow cookies, pink donuts, and the Sweet potato empanadas are amazing. Okay so basically everything haha! Pastries are usually 3 or 4 /$1
