Visiting my son at 29 Palms for the weekend and we decided to get tattoos together, tried one place in the area and it seemed very sketchy. But then went to Solid by the recommendation of some other Marines and was greeted at the door by a very friendly artist named Timmy who was just moping the floor of what was already a very clean establishment. Timmy did an amazing job on my sons ink and then Max walked in and took care of me with some amazing shading work on mine. I got a very decent quote for the amount of work that was done. The artist was personable and professional. The parts of my tattoo that I had completely designed out turned out well, but there was and area that I didn't know exactly how to flesh-out what I wanted. He was able to come up with something that worked ok. I just wish a little more time was spent on the design of that area, as opposed to just throwing something on there. I know the artist isn't a mind reader, but I felt like there's a certain degree of liberty that you should be able to give to the artist once you give guidelines because they tend to know what would work best. I feel like minimal effort was put into that part, but all in all, I'm happy with my tattoo and experience here. read more

Jared is absolutely amazing. I'm headed up there right now to get another tattoo by him! I've got so many tattoos by him I can't even think of a number of them off the top of my head. A lot of my friends have gone to him after seeing my tattoos, even folks that live 2 hours away. He's just an amazing artist. He can draw up anything you'd like. Hes gentle handed, amazingly priced & super personable. I've moved and hour & a half+ from 29 palms & I still go back to him. He's my artist now & will remain so. He makes my ideas a reality. Like the other reviewer says "COOPER"... I have had him do a full redo on a old, faded, blotchy tattoo and he made it look better than the first time around. I fully recommend them. Great work, chill place and I am going back here in the next week to get more work done. Of course when choosing a tattoo place make sure u feel comfortable. Check out their work anybody with a good reputation is gonna have a ton of work to show for it.
