To start off, I would highly recommend Solid Inspection Services to anyone who is looking to get a home inspection done! Mike conducted our pre-drywall inspection on our new construction build. Mike was extremely personable, responded to our messages in a timely manner, and was on time to our inspection appointment. With the drone usage, he provide us with some images of how our roof looked at it's current state. My partner and I are buying our first home and we were very nervous. The house we like is nearly 65 years old and although it's been remodeled, I couldn't help but wonder what the sellers might have covered up with pretty paint and granite countertops. I called around to 5 or 6 home inspection places before settling on Mike. Here's why I chose him. In addition to having fantastic reviews, he was one of the only inspectors who stood by their work. Most of the other companies had a clause in their contract that stated if they missed something, the most we could recover would be the cost of the inspection. Well getting $300 back when an inspector missed a $5,000 problem isn't a very good deal. I didn't have to worry about that with Mike. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and immediately put my mind at ease. On the day of the actual inspection, he showed up in a mask and booties. The actual inspection was incredibly thorough (we're talking over 4 hours for a 2,000 square foot home). When he was finished, Mike walked my partner and I through the house and pointed out all the things he inspected as well as other little things we should be aware of as homeowners. He even let us film the whole thing for our realtor, parents, and any repair companies we would later hire. The best part was the report though. We actually had the benefit of a different home inspection report from a previous buyer who had fallen through. That report was only 10 or 12 pages, had less than 2 dozen photos, and listed only a handful of things to fix. By contrast, Mike's report was over 100 pages, had 5 or six photos per room, and had close to 3 dozen things to be fixed. Most of the items Mike found were minor and relatively easy to fix, but thanks to his report, we were able to get about $2,600 from the sellers for repairs. He even texted back and forth with me in the days following the inspection as we negotiated with the sellers, answering my questions and helping us negotiate. I wouldn't hesitate to contact Mike again for another inspection or to refer him to my friends or family. He was fantastic and I cannot thank him enough. read more
