Shoe Repair Etc. - Anti Semitic…read more I am writing to report my experience with a shoe repair business, Shoe Repair Etc., located at 7050 W. Palmetto Park Rd., Bay 23 in Boca Raton, within the Publix shopping plaza at the intersection of Palmetto and Powerline. I brought in a designer handbag for zipper repair. When I retrieved the item, the strap had been scratched and ripped, and the underside of the handbag was significantly damaged. There was visible hot glue residue and multiple scratches all over the leather. The bag had been in excellent condition prior to the repair, and the result was unacceptable. When I raised concerns about the condition of the item and the appropriateness of payment, I was met with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. The shoemaker and an individual who appeared to be his spouse made disparaging and anti-Semitic remarks, including comments about "Jewish Boca women" being superficial for purchasing designer goods. Incidentally, they have no idea what my religion is, as I do not know them personally beyond being their customer. I am sharing this experience not only to warn others about the poor quality of workmanship, but also to highlight the deeply troubling conduct and values demonstrated by the individuals running this business. Their willingness to damage a customer's property, refuse accountability, and then resort to offensive, anti-Semitic remarks reflects a complete lack of professionalism, integrity, and basic respect. I told her to ask for a refund due to the poor quality of the repair, the inconvenience, and the excessive pricing, but her request was denied. "we don't do that"!
