Upon first walking in I was greeted and asked to pick a color. My nails were done by a gentleman named Q. He had me cracking up during the duration of my nail session. He was very quick, professional, and did exactly what I asked for. He was awesome and my nails look amazing. My pedicure was done by Kim. SHE WAS AMAZING!!! By far the best pedicure I've ever received. I got the solar pedicure. She took her time, made sure I was okay, and just overall made it an amazing experience. Bruh the owner was talking a whole lot of trash about us and the fact that we were right in front of her we understood what she was saying but did she stop nope. She even said she wanted to slap me cause I was 'moving' to much but she was being so aggressive and rude she didn't even do my nails right she was just rushing to get done. At the end the worker found out that we were Vietnamese yet did she say sorry? No she said no they are probably just saying that and then after I left she said she wanted to slap me in front of my mom. My sister and I went to get fills, since our normal place was too busy. Immediately upon arrival, the guy that works there was giving us attitude and rolled his eyes, when he saw us choosing multiple colors. He did my nails, and cut me so many times and the dremel was even used on my skin. When he buffed my nails with the grit side, he also rubbed it on the tops of my hands. Polish was old and thinner had been added to most of the colors. Multiple coats had to be applied because polish was so thin. Now it looks like I have gel nails, but not in a good way. Will not return. read more

Not a huge fan this time around, I've gone here about 4 times over the span of two years and in the past they have done me really well but with my most recent visit I was very disappointed. The main guy did my nails, he was having a bad day and I could tell by the effort he put in. I wanted black French tips but I wanted them painted onto a clear or natural base acrylic, instead they used black tips which I feel make my fingers and nails look chunky. They're not terrible quality just not the aesthetic of what I asked for. read more

The most wacky pedicure I've ever received. It turned out OK looking, but the woman who did my pedicure AGGRESSIVELY picked her nose during my pedicure and then returned to my feet after. She then proceeded to FaceTime someone, laying the phone inbetween my feet and talking while she worked on my feet. I had to ask to get another coat of polish on my nails because the polish was so see through. My moms pedicure turned out well, but a different nail tech did hers. My sister and I went here for the first time and let's just say I wasn't impressed. It was our first time of course and my sister was asking about pricing and he was very confusing like he didn't know his own prices, told me my manicure would be $30 when it was actually $25. Which I'm glad because they made my cuticles bleed on 2 fingers and just acted like the blood wasn't there and smeared it with the paint. And I was told If I wanted coffin shape it would be $5 more (I've never heard of a place charging extra for a shape) and they also rushed me to pick my color and sit down. Okay ladies, gents, and anyone else who wants their nails done... Solar Nails KILLED IT. My nail tech was Jessica and she knocked it out of the park! She was sweet and did exactly was I requested, all without creating awkward tension which sometimes happens when a random stranger is taking a tiny drill to your hands. Very Disappointed. Not sure what is acceptable in Joplin, Missouri (as I am new to the area) but I have had many pedicures all over the country and by far Solar Nails is the worst experience and service I have received. . First, it started with all the nail techs having major conversation among themselves in their language the entire time, speaking out loud, laughing and making loud joking noises across the salon in front of all their customers. **Note: I do not have a problem with people talking a different language; however, there is a certain level of professional etiquette to follow in front of customers when rendering services. When providing spa services the customer is #1. Secondly, Jessica was the nail tech who did my pedicure. She rushed through it, poorly trimmed my nails and just slapped on lotion. Upon receiving this poor treatment, I opted to cut my pedicure short, And I did not get any nail polish painted on to my nails. I did pay the full amount owed without any issues but I will NEVER go back to this place again. Just a word to the locals, when getting any type of spa services, you should be pampered, it should be relaxing, tranquil, clean and professional. This place is a joke and a disgrace. read more

I got my nails done for graduation and this was the first time I had ever had my nails done so I didn't know what to expect. I couldn't understand what was being said to me and felt rushed into picking a color. When I left I looked at my nails and they looked grown out even though the person had applied 3 or 4 coats of gel polish. It's been almost 4 days and I don't think my nails will last much longer because they are detaching from my nails. I will not be returning. read more

Great service! The staff is always friendly and it is barely busy. I think it's because they have enough staff to cover down. I was able to call to see if there was a long wait and once I got there, they remembered me and got my husband and I in the chairs to start our pedicure right away. Horrible! I got my nails done for $45 for gel, matte, and coffin shaped. They're already chipping and falling apart only a week later. Made an appointment for 5pm, days in advance and didn't even get my nails done till like 6-6:15. The matte doesn't even look matte, it just look dull and gross. They didn't even go all the way down to my cuticles with the acrylic powder so it looked like I needed a fill just a couple days later. Went with two people and they messed up their nails too. Wouldn't spend another penny here. read more

I suggest Rockstar nails or Westside in Carthage but if you want crappy nails go here ! Not to mention when we went to get our money back he raised his voice and was very rude !!! read more

Traveling from Chicago to Oklahoma a few weeks ago, I spent the night in Joplin, MO. I didn't have time before my trip to get my nails done so I decided to stop and get my nails done before getting back on the road the next morning. I searched Yelp for a salon close to my hotel and went here based on the reviews. First let me say that the pedicure I received was fine. The gentleman did a nice job. Nothing spectacular, but I was pleased with it. However, the gel manicure that I received (from a different gentleman) was one of the worst I had ever gotten. It only lasted 2 days before the gel started pulling away from my nails, and not because my hands were in water a lot. I swim dogs for a living and my gel manicures are in the water all day and they normally last a week and a half when I get them done at my regular salon. The amount of gel he used was excessive and he didn't even clean it up well around my cuticles. I ended up having to file it down because it was so thick and stuck to my skin around my nails. They also state that they are inexpensive. I can get a cheaper pedicure and gel manicure in the city of Chicago than I can get in Joplin, MO. Needless to say, I won't be stopping there on my next trip to Oklahoma. I'll have to try one of the other nail salons in the area. read more
