Been here several times & although I've liked my nails most of the time it's inconsistent with how well the nails are going to turn out. There's also one nail tech who's not the friendliest. I feel like every time I ask him questions or make a comment or move my hand a bit he gets frustrated. Overall the techs are nice besides that one tech who's name I forget. Today, The nails I wanted are the longer ones in the pictures but the nails I got are the shorter nails. I was trying to trust the process, but they did not turn out at all how I wanted them. I get dip finger nails and polished toes. Same color ! The lady who did my finger nails, even asked if I was getting same color. I said yes. She looked down at my toes. And looked at the jar of dip powder. So I assumed they matched. She did my nails and I wasn't even thinking about the color. When I was done and on my way to an appointment. I realized they did not match. Not even close. I had two many things to do, to go back. This isn't the first issue I've had with this salon. I won't be going back. At first I really loved this place but the last couple times my nails have only lasted a week with 1-2 nails breaking off and the others chipping. This last set really set me off. He charged 85$ for them and barely did any work. It took less than 45 min. I don't mind spending the money but I expect the product to last. I have had a very hard time finding a good walk-in nail salon in Joplin. I think I have finally found it. I usually get gel nails so my review is based solely on this service. I was a walk in on a Saturday and they got me right in. They have a great selection of colors and offer the latest trends even cat color. They also offer a beverage which is a nice perk. Anne did my nails and I am very happy. Not only do my nails look great but my cuticles do too -which is the issue I have with most Joplin salons, I walk out with greased up nails and 30 min later I have dried up skin around my nails. They also offer a neck and shoulder massage while getting your nails done if you request it-which I will do next time :) read more

This place is HORRIBLE. I scheduled an appointment for 1pm two days before my appointment. I got there at 12:55 and had to wait til 1:10 til I got back in the chair. I then got to the chair to start my pedi and I sat there for 15 minutes before someone came over and started my pedi. The water was cold so I told them I wanted it hotter. They turned the terribly hot water on and left it running on my feet for 5min until the employee went to get the terrible tools for my cheap pedi. I got the $25 pedi and thought it would be like all the other nail salons in town, but no this wasn't the case. They trimmed my nails and put lotion on my feet and called that a pedi. I still have dead skin and calluses on my feet. From when I got in the chair to when I left was about 15min MAX. This place is overpriced and not efficient. WONT BE BACK!! I was shocked that the manicurist was very rough cutting my cuticles, sped through each nail, not taking his time to be careful. He damaged two fingers that bled even after I left, which required a bandage on one finger. He did not wait between coats (one right after the other.) He smudged 3 nails on one hand and 1 nail on the other hand when he put a small amount of lotion on my hands and forearms. He didn't repair them properly by starting with the base coat after he took off the ruined polish, which went on a bare nail. He didn't talk to me but mumbled to himself. His own nails were dirty, broken with ragged cuticles. The manicure tools were packaged so I am hoping they had been sterilized! The pictures were taken 4 hours after the manicure and are still sore. Since this was the first time I visited this salon I didn't know who talk to so I didn't say anything. I just paid and got out of there. Terrible manicure and experience. read more

Unfortunately my last acrylics/gel polish has left me not wanting to come back, first off I have never had acrylics before so I didn't know that I had to specify manicure and acrylics until I they were putting on my polish and I had piles of dead skin surrounding my nails. After leaving I also realized numerous bubbles popping up in my nails that started to look black after a day and it now looks awful after only 5 days and since my cuticles weren't cut it looks like I haven't had a fill in 3 weeks. I'm assuming they're just now so popular and busy that they now cut corners and fill their nail polish with water which is causing the bubbles. read more

The staff is very Rude, essentially Nick the manager. I asked for no drilling because they drill too deep it gets hot and hurts for days and the lady said do you want your nails done or not. the next time the towel was too hot and burning me when I said something to the manager he said we won't be able to do your nails if you don't cooperate. First of all, I wasn't welcomed when I walked in. Customers were scattered everywhere and the energy was negative. No one was smiling or friendly towards each other at all. After waiting 30 minutes after the time I scheduled my appointment (made 1 week in advance), I walked out and it was a relief. I called to check the wait time and to see if they did SNS nails, they said no wait time and yes. When I arrived I was shocked, no wait time. Most places say that but then you wait 45 minutes. Been going there for about 3 years. wish every nail tech did the same thing. Some give great massages, some just lightly run over your legs. But the worst is they use old nail polish and just keep thinning it down. Made nails look sloppy and took forever to dry, even then smudged. I now take my own polish. The front desk girls were very nice and there was a little bit of a wait. As soon as I got to my pedicure chair, there was an instant language barrier I asked for regular polish and the basic pedicure and he gave me gel polish and after seeing the basic pedicure was $30 I got charged $50. I went off to get my nails done And right away she asked me if I wanted dip nails and I said no I would like an acrylic fill and showed her the colors that I wanted. She proceeded to buff down my nails to prepare them for acrylic and then proceeded to get foils and acetone out to soak off. I told her or you giving me a new set. She said yes, I said I don't want a new set. There are some that are cracked and I said I see two that are cracked. Please just fix those two. She said OK I will do that for you every time they try to get me to buy a new set and I know they're just trying to swindle you out of your money. Like you don't have a choice in the matter they do what they do in an in the end they ask for all the money. She asked me if I wanted them long or short. I told her I wanted to keep them long. She proceeded to file until my nails were down to my skin. I thought OK I can deal with that. Whatever. Then we proceeded on picking a color. of what I wanted. She got the two colors to feed into each other and could not achieve the look I wanted. She continued to tell me that what I wanted was dip nails and I said no I just want to use the dip color to achieve the color I want with the powder on top of acrylic I've seen it done before and proceeded to teach her how to do it, and she didn't understand me and said I needed someone else and then her boss came to me and told me I was confused and they couldn't do what I wanted and then if I wanna dip nails I needed to soak off and start over. I said no, you're confused I just want the dip color to achieve the Fade. He continue to say that that cannot be done so I told him I would go elsewhere to have it done as I have had it done before and he said OK and I left with them still charging me for a very crappy nail job with one that broke as soon as I got in the car. read more

I was long overdue for a pedicure and having a difficult time getting one scheduled in a timely manner following the covid shutdown I called Rock Star to see when I could get in. I was told that there was no wait at the time so I grabbed my mask and headed right over. Upon arrival, I was seated right away with John for "rock star " pedi. It was probably the best pedi I've had in a long time if not ever. He did a such great job! I'll be returning and requesting him on a regular basis from now on. I went here today and got just a dip. I have to say, my dipped nails look better here than when I got them done by the place by target. They aren't bubbled up and they don't look like "bubble gum" sitting on top of my nails. So, for just a dip, I paid $35. I felt it was worth the price. The nail tech was straight to the point, and friendly. I'll be returning here. I'd take a picture of the awesome work, but my hands are so dry and cracked from washing my hands so often. read more

Called days before verifying they could paint my two and a half year olds nails and made sure as well the day of the appointment because I wanted her to come do something with mommy since she loves watching nails be painted. So I came, waited an hour when I was told only half an hour and the technician had an attitude the whole time. Kept filing into my skin and when the other the lady doing my daughters nails wanted me to help encourage her to fan her nails he kept saying "stay still!" rudely, and the other the girl told me I should just stick to doing my kids nails for fun, even though she was actually being pretty calm since she was so interested in the process and didn't mess up her nails. The guy just quickly finished painting my nails, didn't file the backs of it since the acrylic and the filing stuck to it so now I have to go home and fix the backs since I won't be coming back. (Reposted from google): I went to get my nails done with some friends to celebrate my birthday this weekend. I chose a color for my pedicure and was told there was a dip manicure color to match by a nail technician. When I went to sit down for my manicure, another nail technician said they didn't have that color in dip. I asked if she could find what they had that was closest to my toe color and went with that. She started prepping my nails for the dip powder and grazed my skin with the drill (ouch) but didn't say anything. My friend who was next to me later asked if I was getting a matching color to my toes and I said no because they didn't have a match. At this the nail tech slammed down her drill and told me to get up and go pick a different color. I said I wanted the color that was on the table (since that was what she said was closest to my toe color) and she again said to go pick another color to match. After this and the angry vibes that she was putting off, I felt super uncomfortable with her so I just said I no longer wanted a manicure (nothing was on my nails yet). Unsurprisingly, she walked away and started putting her supplies away without saying another word to me. I went to pay for my pedicure and the receptionist was friendly and insisted I take some coupon cards even after refusing them two times (I don't plan on going back). I went over to Humble Bees Nail Spa and the lady getting her nails done next to me said she stopped going to Rockstar because the same thing happened to her. read more

I've been here 4 times now I will not be going back. Fair prices for sure but they are very rough. Didn't do as I asked and have nicked me 3 times now. And this last te charged me 10 dollars more than every other time. And she was extremely rude. I think there is definitely a language barrier which doesn't help. read more

I scheduled an appointment, they called and texted the day I scheduled to confirm and when I walked in they told me I wasn't on the list and had to wait 2 hours, then they told me I couldn't get the design I wanted because the guy didnt want to take too much time designing my nails, so upon his decision I got solid nails- which I never do.... I have had my nails done twice at this place and all chipped in 2-3 days. First was a set of gel manicure. The second was a set of SNS nails with a gel matte top. Having had several sets of SNS done at other nail shops which lasted well over 3 weeks, I have never had one which chipped in 3 days. I had the manicure done on Tuesday, by Thursday the nails were all chipped and rough. I returned on the Saturday and complained, had all the nails removed and changed . At the end, they asked that I pay 35 dollars for a whole new manicure. How ridiculous can that be? To think I had to pay for uber to the shop and back . I ended up paying 25 bucks cos even the rude male Asian owner insisted saying he has 'other customers to attend to'. I have never seen this level of disrespect at a nail shop. Save yourself the stress and find another place where your manicure will last with no need for nail repairs. Ciao read more
